    Feed Your Head

John -- you're welcome. ;) I like to post the YouTube links, rather than *embed them* (or whatever it is called), because this way -- other things about the artist are shown on a menu there, and NOT just the video in question. Gives a person room to explore whatever they may be interested in, and see more than just one video. :)
  2. Meebe the Times They Are A'Changin. Although there was *outrage expressed* back in 1993, I don't recall anyone threatening to sue. <_<

    Black Friday

Didn't mean to sound like a scrooge or anything. I'm usually alone during Christmas, so I don't buy gifts to ship off through the mail. Nor are gifts bought for me, and sent up here in the mail either. Now -- if I were going to be back in Indiana over Christmas, you bet I'd buy gifts. I stopped getting and giving gifts at Christmas, quite a few years ago. :)

    Guitar Talk

I've got that song here on a tape (somewhere). I had always heard that Dean was either a member of PPL -- or had hung out with them when they were forming as a band. Do you know the scoop on this, Waysider??? Dean and Laura were my twig leaders back in 1977, and he played at local coffeehouses frequently. His laid back style of playing -- was VERY reminiscient of PPL songs. He was a huge hit with the college crowd there (Indiana University). The coffeehouses he played at were always packed -- and not just by *believers*.

Vince Gill is one of my favorite bluegrass/ country pickers. He was in a band that opened for Pure Prarie League once, and later he became a member of that band (PPL). His *portfolio* of bluegrass groups that he was once a member of is legendary. Luckily (for folks like myself), he hasn't forgotton those roots -- and actively seeks out the Bluegrass crowd, catering to them with his music -- as much as he does the country following. I think his version of *country* reflects this, and the whole world hears the difference he brings to country music, without being able to put their fingers on the exact reason. Maybe I should start a *class* for Country Music Appreciation --- Oh!! wait a minute -- those initials are already taken. :( Scratch the class idea! Seriously -- both he and Allison got their *humble* beginnings in the acoustic world of Bluegrass, took that talent to the next level, made a ton of money, and many happy hours of listening for their audience, but never forgot where they came from. :)

    Riddle me this....

Hmmmmm. I remember using *fountain pens* in grade school. I also remember (in high school), at a football game -- both teams on their hands and knees -- searching for one little contact lense on the playing field that a player lost.... Since they were so new, innovative, and expensive --- at the time. I also remember moving from the house Mom and Dad rented, to the one that Dad built, (back in 1955), and them actually buying hamburgers from a *fast food joint*, so we could eat, and get on with moving. Buying pre-cooked food was a real novelty back then. PS --- today I had to explain to a co-worker of mine what Burma-Shave signs were all about. I made mention of them, and she had NO CLUE what I was talking about!! I'm feeling old (or is archaic the more proper word?) -- right about now. :(

    PIZZA

Dooj -- this is a thread for you to shine on. I will publicaly confess here that pineapple is really good with Canadian Bacon, but NOT with other toppings on that peculiar conncoction (sp?) we all call *pizza*.. OK -- NOW --- with that being said --- You made some comments in the *Limerick BBQ Thread*, about if I showed up there in Texas, you would show me what a REAL pizza was like. We do pizza at the group home that I work at for supper occasionally, but the one guy there that has the weight issue is always left out. Can you give me a healthy (low fat) recipe for pizza, so that Jeff can enjoy what my other clients are having for dinner, on that particular night??? I promise -- I will make NO REFERENCES to pineapple here. It saddens me (a lot) -- to see Jeff staring at the other plates, and not being able to partake, like they are. He's fixated (is that a word?), on what everyone is eating -- at all times. He's a victim of PRADER-WILLIE SYNDROME, and nothing would please me more, than to see him eat a meal, that everyone else is enjoying. It's what he lives for --- daily. Thank you.

Socks -- headed for Indiana on Sunday. I have tomorrow (woops!! today) off to get the oil changed in the car, do laundry, etc. -- and I plan on swinging by that shop to get a serial number -- that sort of thing, off of it for further perusal. :) It looked mighty fine -- but it was hanging on the wall -- and not plugged in to an amp, or anything. I looked up the Fender site -- but saw mostly vintage and custom instruments listed. Instruments in pawn shops intrigue me. Who owned them? Where and when did they get them? Why did they pawn them??? Did they need the money -- or don't they play anymore??? Color me curious. :) I'll find out more about it, when I pay a repeat visit to the shop.
  19. I agree with WordWolf. For those who haven't noticed -- Mike is listed as *online* all the time here at GSC, almost daily. So that tells me he is reading, yet chooses to NOT post. As much as I disagree with the docvic stuff ---- you have to admire his tenacity about that which he believes., and NOW you have to admire his ability to READ AND NOT POST, as much as he (probably) would like to. I'm not going to speculate on why he chooses not to post (these days), but by the same token -- I won't call him a *slacker* for not doing so. Every man/woman/person deserves a break. We all have opinions ---sometimes agreeable, sometimes not. Afford the same luxury to Mike. Please.

    Shooting Stars

Notta --- cool. Just a short drive up up the North Shore of Lake Superior affords me the same view. City lights??? What city lights???? :)
  21. Docvic shoulda preached to the rows of corn. They had both ears to hear, and husks to shuck. :( :(
  22. Har, har, har!! There's plenty of others here who would be glad to have a chance to munch on a TOTAL food group meal -- such as pineapple on pizza. (Protein, starch, veggies, and fruit -- all in one delectable pie!)
