    Guitar Talk

Bluzeman --- well I liked it!! Found the link when I got home from work today, and just now heard it. Question -- are you playing that "slide guitar style", or on your lap like a dobro? Either way -- it sounded good. :)

    I'm Dying

Who will sing for me? We will, as will your daughter. This is hard. You've been a friend to us all here at GSC. Like someone else said -- here's hoping your dreams exceed doctor's expections, or something along those lines.
  3. Hey there -- welcome to GreaseSpot.. You asked an interesting question. I've been a financial partner with them (CES) for some years now. I received NO news about this at all. Makes ya wanna go Hmmmmmmmmm. :( (Ps --I hope attorneys don't get involved -- I didn't donate to line lawyers's pockets!!)
  4. Theirs a piggy in the sky, and its flying by. Looking for a destination to deliver there splattered pie, to it's recipients unaware -- they're is bound to be havoc their. Its a well known fact, Ya can't throw them back. Two bad -- becuz pie in the sky is where its at. :)

  7. Modcat -- saw you on here, and wondered what was up. Thanks for the explanation. (Don't mind me -- I get paranoid, when authority shows up!!)

    I'm Dying

    :( :( :( I-- don't --- know --- what --- to --- say. Prayers from me, for you -- with no preaching. Promise. Damn!
  10. Mathew (sirvaliant) -- thanks for that. (While making sense to me -- it may not to others here.)
  11. Hey there Belle. Didn't mean to ignore this question. Looking through the beginnings of this thread, I ran across it again, and since I didn't answer then, here's the perspective. (Would that be the *Present Truth*?) Can't say that anything was a *red flag* for me. But things were happening that made me curious. (Please don't ask for *dates or a timeline* -- I'll get it wrong if I try!) Like I said in an earlier post, given my *involvement* with CES, to me they were predominantly a source of info for Christians with questions. Or atheists with questions, or ANYONE with questions, and I liked that. The early teachings were (imo) great. Stuff you could sink your teeth into. Things that made you think, pull out the bible, and do some extra looking on your own. Somewhere along the line -- the teachings became more vague. Then they became completely blah-zayy, with reports of how a teen camp went, or something. While I'm glad the teens had a good time at *camp*, I don't want to hear about it on the tape that used to have teaching on it instead. Occassionally something good from John Schoenheit will be offered, but those are getting few and far between. A lot of the tapes done by Mark G are philosophical ramblings that lose me quickly. As another poster here once said to me in the chat room -- "Mark G belongs in a college classroom, where he can put the students to sleep". (Or something very close to that effect). Also -- their move from being an info - based org (again my perspective), to that of being a full blown church was puzzling. My question was Why? The answer to that question was in a Sower magazine (and on a monthly tape), that they (CES) felt that God was leading them into more than what they had been into. Well -- ok, cool. Whatever -- I pretty much ignored it. To me -- it didn't matter one way or the other. But I was still curious why the shift from *educational service* to *church*. CES (imo) has always promoted local fellowship, with local control. But now --with this new revelation of a prophetic council (to me at least), I can see many ways that it can be abused -- such as has already been posted here. I DON'T see how it can be Godly -- given the evidence of what has happened. And then there is the name change, from Christian Educational to Spirit and Truth. I thought it pretty egotistical, despite the *reasons* given for it. Why change the name -- unless you are trying to *redefine* yourself? And if you're redefining yourself --what direction are you going, eh? I just chalked it up to ---- hmmmmmm. (don't remember what I chalked that one up to). So -- no red flags --- but I'm thinking that while offering info is good, leave the *church* aspect up to the individual. Hopefully -- CES might consider this.
  12. Why is that? Too busy reading POWER FOR A BUNJIE-JUMPING LIVING? ;)
  13. Vegan --- HERE'S YOUR LIVE LINK! ;)
  14. Sung to the tune of Old McDonald --- Ole dovic, he had a farm --- Ee Ii Ee Ii Ohhhhhhhhh. And on this farm he raised a Corps, Ee Ii Ee Ii Ohhhhhhhhh. With a Fourth Corps here, A Sixth corps there, Here a Corps, there a Corps, everywhere you look a Corps'' Ole docvic he had a farm Ee Ii Ee Ii uh-ooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (apostle and docvic in the same sentence -- is the ultimate oxymoron). <_< <_<
  15. WhiteDove --- I have a copy of those 1999 *Prophetic* tapes. John S's teaching of *Contending for the Faith* is one of the most dynamic ever recorded. And -- may I add -- from what I undersdtood from these tapes,' They were about prophecy in general, and had NOTHING to do with dreams. Nor did they have anything to do with *dreamology* control over another person. Perhaps these tapes were a *toe-in-the-water* for KAG to do her thing. Sure sounds like it now. These tapes are something I knew about. The *Prophetic Council* was/ is a slap in the face to me. Someone here (I forget who), compared this to sorcery. Wtf --- gotta agree with the analogy.
  16. Tom -- I know many folks here who need help/ money. I don't have a lot, but (these days), I'm thinking it might be better spent here, rather than there. Thanks -- your input is ALWAYS welcome.

Water-proof matches --- Light a candle. Tip it so the wax drips onto a plate. While the wax is still molten, insert the match head. Make sure the match-head is totally covered. Make sure it is a *Strike-Anywhere* wooden match. When ya need to fire it up ---------- Scrape off the Wax, stike the match, and light that cigar!!
  18. For what it is worth (probably nothing) -- I've decided to *vote* with my checkbook. I'll be writing CES in the next day or two cancelling my partnership with them, if this isn't resolved. For what it's worth -- I have supported their websites, since I agree with much that is promoted there. Many folks look at those sites, and I feel valuable choices are made *available* to those who are looking for answers. Sure -- many of the teachings are *docvic oriented*. I don't care about that. He stole them from others who found the stuff first, so I have no problem with the teachings. Because he mouthed, wrote, whatever, teachings from others, doesn't invalidate the work involved. And -- to their credit -- CES and John S. (especially John S.), has gone to levels of research that docvic might've wanted to attain -- had he not been hitting the bottle so much. The things he/ they come up with are quite thoughtful, and worthy of more than just a quick glance. Now -- I said that, I'll say this. In my mind -- (and I could be wrong) -- CES is a far flung org. Nother words -- if you have a fellowship going on in your area, you're not neccessarily *under the thumb of headquarters* If I ran a fellowship here in Minney-soda, I wouldn't expect them to tell me what to do. Perhaps that is something they do -- I don't know. It's obvious that some serious $h!t is happening in the local fellowships, there in Indiana. I know a guy here in Minney-soda who ran a CES fellowship (75 to 80 miles from me), and did (if I recollect correct) pretty much as he pleased. No *interference* from the Indy crowd. Soooooo --- the short of the long of it here (for me) --- is simply this. I've always considered CES more of an online *info* outlet. That is what I have supported, though I know that fellowships are integral to the group as well. Hearing this latest about how individual folks are being hurt by leadership (whomever), and it being condoned as *godly*, *prophetic*, *add-your-own-adjective-here* truely sucks big time -- and whatever the online impact CES might have -- is not worth the hurt that one individual might suffer, from those in charge.

    Guitar Talk

Gonna post this quick, so I'm not at the *top-of-the-page-again*. Woops -- just checked post numbers on this page, and I see we have a few more posts to go. whewwwwwwwww!! (Personally -- I think ChattyKathy has a real *ministry* going on with that top-of-the-page thing.) She's a natural. Does it with grace and style. Totally oblivious to the 5-senses aspect. Leading us all into the next twenty posts, while claiming she doesn't belong there. Ahhhh -- the humility! The *I'm not worthy* attitude. Christian leaders -- take *note*! Meebe TOTP is a *lost/ hidden* gift ministry -- belonging right in there with evangelists, apostles, prophets, pastors and teachers. What was Paul thinking when he wrote Ephesians, anyhoo?? How could he exclude those at the Top Of The Page, while lauding apostles, evangelisists, prophets, pastors and teachers??? Oh --wait a minute -- he was always at the top of the page, bottom of the page, middle of the page. Nemmermind. ;) But I digress -- here's my original intent for posting this here --- I just remembered that there is a Fender guitar in a pawn shop here, that I never did get to check out. I was going to do that before I left on Thanksgiving week for Indiana -- but ran short on time, so I never did. I wonder/ hope they still have it. I liked the looks of it. They have amps there to plug it into, so if it's still there -- I'll be checking it out in the next day or two.

    MALPack

Most of us here in my part of the country have *malpacks* in the trunks of our cars. But we call them "snow emergency kits". To be used if ya happen to get stuck somewhere on the highway, in a snow storm.
