    Grandma's Hands

Dooj -- thanks. Gives one cause to pause and think. Much is taken for granted, until examined closer. :)
  2. Hope you had a good one, Goey. :)
  3. You can thank God for SOME of the people ALL the time, And you can thank God for ALL of the people SOME of the time, but in twig -- ya dang well better thank God for ALL of the people ALL of the time! (otherwise -- you be in a big heap of trouble).

    how-to question

Hey -- your posts have all been QUALITY. 300 of yours means more than 11,000 of mine. ;)

    how-to question

Hmmmmmm. Right above *my date of birth* -- I see "custom member title". Tell you what -- contact Paw, or Greasy Tech, or Doowap -- tell them what you want your *title* to be, and I'm thinking they can change it for you. That's how I got mine changed back whenever -- but I thought that now (with the new board), that folks could change their's at will -- meebe not, eh? (Ps -- I really do see the "custom member title* there -- in my control panel right above the slot asking for date of birth.)

    how-to question

Potato -- go to *my controls* (top of your page) Clicking on that gets you to your profile, etc. Look at the left of the page -- you'll see an area with the heading Personal Profile. The FIRST setting under the heading is -- Edit Profile Information. Click on that. Once that page loads -- the very first optiion you should see is --- CUSTOM MEMBER TITLE. :) It's up to you, to fill in the blank -- that's what will show up. ;) Soooooo -- we're waiting for the new member title! What's it going to be?? Baked?, or French-fried? (sorry -- hope the instructions work for you!)
  8. (Ps -- thanks to all those who make this site work so well.)

    Guitar Talk

Chas -- I looked for that post, but couldn't find it either -- via the search feature. :( I typed in your name, and the word *starcaster*, and the only thing that came up are the most recent posts with your name and starcaster. Perhaps we should invite WordWolf here to give lessons, on how to use the search function properly!! :D

  12. Belle -- (pssssssst! -- Potato is a she (If I recollect correct)! :) Regardless --- The basic premise is the same -- be it music, or *biblical research*. I've DELIBERATELY never copyrighted my tunes. As I stated earlier --- I consider them a gift to me, for others, who may happen to enjoy them. For the most part -- they have never been heard, outside of this (my local) area. Most folk's have never heard them played -- except by me. Musician's come to this (my area) for the jam sessions we have here, which are quite good. (Not unlike others travelling to a ((cough!!)) distant area, for a bible class). Upshot of it is -- there were some famous/prominent/ whatever/ musicians who came to our jam sessions. Some of my tunes were played those evenings, and they liked them enough to learn them, then and there. When the time came for them to record a new CD, and they thought to include one of my tunes on it --- I'VE ALWAYS GOTTEN A PHONE CALL --- ASKING PERMISSION (because they knew the composer). None of them have (yet) dared to put my stuff out there as THEIR WORK. Having spoken with all the groups involved -- they knew that my stuff was NOT copyrighted. But they had the DECENCY to contact me for permission. I always gave it. It wasn't hard to give, nor was it hard for them to ask. Now -- (this is another IMO) ---- docvic coulda done the same, given the same set of circumstances. (I'm assuming that Stiles wanted his work out there --for others to teach). But from what I DO know -- (and granted it IS LIMITED), docvic never had the courtesy --- to place the phone calls, like I received. Selah. :(
  13. Fellowshipper -- hopefully you aren't referring to any of the ladies in the Mighty Ninth Corps Thread!! (edited for my incoy-rect speeling --) :(

Where in southern Illinois?? Both my folks are from there as well -- same time frame. Mom and Dad -- from Carbondale, and DuQuoin, respectively.
  15. Garth --and her *BELIEVING* = RECEIVING!!!
  16. I agree. What is MOST saddening about the proposition -- is that it had to be written in the first place. :(
  17. :biglaugh: What were we told?? Answer a question with a question?? I think answer an accusation with an accusation is better!! :eusa_clap:
  18. I caught the *irony* of that first statement Jonny. :) But to be *patted on the head* by Earl, and to be encouraged to "keep on picking"??? Priceless!!!

  22. I hear that Waysider --- HERE'S VASSAR PLAYING THAT FIDDLE, (along with a few other famous folks.) ;)
  23. And Jonny --since you like Vassar so much -- Here is my story of my one and only encounter with him. I think you'll like this one. Also posted on another website --- ;) Them were the days!
  24. Jonny -- here is a post I put up on another site: Jasmine -- thanks for thinking the avatar I use is *cool*. I think it is too, as it is the peghead of a fiddle owned and used by one of the more famous fiddler's in the world -- Vassar Clements. Sadly -- he passed away in 2005, but left a RICH legacy behind him. I've actually had a chance to hold it, and *plunk* on it, at a bar/club in southern Indiana where Vassar was playing, but that's another story I'll add after this post. Those are the pics of it from Vassar Clement's Website and here is the story of that fiddle, from the same website. I hope this isn't too boring, or too long. So there is the history behind the avatar. On other sites -- I've described myself as a FiddlePicker -- because I am. Having picked banjo, mandolin, guitar, and fiddle in Bluegrass groups, over the years I've gravitated to fiddle as my favorite instrument to be playing on stage. Vassar's fiddle is one of the most recognizable in the world. The avatar is my tribute to him, since I doubt that that fiddle, will ever be played again. :(
