    CFF

I've said it before --- I'll say it again ------------ THE *LAW OF BELIEVING* is the most insidiuous teaching EVER promoted by twi. Believing in God's ability to do, is one thing. Believing in *believing*, is BS. Saint and sinner alike?? Come on -- give me a break here. Outin88 pegged it right on the money. Docvic had a bill of goods to sell. He believed in his ability to do so. He received what he believed -- but (I'm willing to bet), that God had NOTHING to do with it. CEO's of many companies *promote their goods*, and *God* never entered into the equation. Docvic was NO different. Docvic was no more than an Amway salesman, promoting soap, to the great *unwashed* multitude. Sadly --we *bought* the product, and signed up to do the same. While I have heard some of CFF's teachings (and thought them admirable), I will never see the Law of believing as either a law, or legitimate, no matter who propounds it. It's a lie from Hell. (My Imo -- and I'm sticking to it).
  2. In a word --- yes. I've spoken of them before (in My Story). They were there before twi. They were there during twi. They were there after twi. We all knew each other before twi, and we got both *in* and *out* at the same time. True friends -- hanging together through thick and thin, figuring out the *nuts and bolts* of life.

    Are You Doing Much?

Ex10 -- Nawwww. It might be worthless if --- they invite you over to watch the paint dry, and you having nothing better to do, accept the invitation!!

    Are You Doing Much?

    Amen!!! :eusa_clap:
  5. Hey, hey, hey!!! Hope it was a good one!
  6. We're mighty low on snow here. We have cold temps, but no snow. :( Matter of fact -- the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon has been rescheduled, due to lack of snow. At least a foot of the white stuff is needed on the ground, for the safety of the paws of the dogs. Right about now -- there is less than an inch, and that is sporadic.

  8. :biglaugh: Shoot -- I've never had ANY problems with the log out thing. I don't think there is a time limit either. I'll put the puter on sleep at night, get up in the morning, click the mouse, and I'm still logged in. When I do log out, and turn the puter off, Firefox recognizes me when I go to sign in again. I hit enter, and I'm in. And I don't get logged off in the middle of surfing either.
  9. Tom --- you're right. Like I said --- Allan W. is the only one qualified (AFAIK), to the Hillsong thing -- since he is a part of it. :)
  10. Darlene Zschech is Tremendous. Allan W. (our resident Hillsong member), is the one qualified to speak about them -- but my observations (from the preceeding post by Tzaia) are: 1988 --- Hillsong had 130 people (I'm guessing -- as members). That's the same time frame CES got *up and running*, though not with that name, and with considerably more people. Here Hillsong is (almost 20 years later), with 5,000 volunteers, for an event that draws 25,000 folks. That says something to me -- they are doing something right. 'Nother words --- folks are willing to volunteer, and folks willingly come to the events. I was at the Chicago conference in '86 or '87 (I forget the exact year now), when JAL, Dubofsky, Belt, and others were there *explaining* the twi doings. I remember that NO one wanted to sing songs. While that seemed *cool* at the time -- the focus was on hang-ups of men. Specifically docvic, and lcm. And the focus also (Bullinger), was on what was said from the podium. Now --- there are probably others here, who were also (Bullinger) there. Mabey their concept of the meeting is different than mine --- but from what I remember -- it was an *I'm right* and *Docvic was wrong* atmosphere. Didn't hear a whole lot about Jesus or the Word in that meeting. It was all about *we versus them*. I'm not trying to *rag* on anybody, since I was a zombie back then as well. I guess my point is -- had we sung some songs, not focused on the folks on stage, and pointed our interest to where it should have been directed in the first place -- things might have turned out different. But sadly -- we didn't, and they have not. Music is a wonderful thing to get your mind off of whomever is at the podium, and put your thoughts/ prayers/ etc., in proper perspective.
  11. Decatt --- Good to see you (finally) posting. :) Welcome to the Forums. Here's hoping your new home and location suit you. I've been wondering about your *new life*, everytime I drive past your old home town, on my way south on I-35. Ok -- back to the topic at hand. David
  12. Socks rocks --regardless of topic!! :biglaugh:
  13. Mark S. is right. Mark G. needs to learn to *turn the other cheek*. But as usual -- that is an IMBO (in my biblical opinion). :)
  14. You made my day with the *concert vault* link, (there on the Guitar Thread). ;) Here's wishing you a good one for your *day*! :)
  15. Tom -- despite my well known propensity for levity --- THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES. I'm doing some soul searching here -- And I thank you in advance -- for taking the time to realize that. (not p!$$ed off -- but thought this comment appropriate).
  16. Having been a supporter of CES, I've gotten many pamphlets in the mail, promoting the various "retreats", "advances", or whatever they are called, that have been run over the past few years. Surprisingly (or not) -- I have received NO INFO, about what has been laid out here. As I stated earlier -- in a different thread --- this is news to me. I'm not the best with words. So I'll let music do my talking instead. I Held To A Dream But this is what I think These Days. I hope those two links work for you all. And I hope you understand the allegorical implications of the lyrics. For what it is worth -- those two pieces were performed by New Grass Revival. Also an offshoot/ splinter --- from the Bluegrass Alliance, back in the 1970's. I don't expect any comments on this thread, but I may get a few. To me the songs say it all. I've made my comment. David
