  1. There ya go Noni. ;)
  2. Mea Culpa -- from what I read of your previous posts -- the impression I got was that you had your mind made up already. Thus -- the comments I made afterwards.

    Go Colts

    IT'S THE COLTS!!!
  4. I agree with Mark S. Getting a book (or whatever) for honest perusal thereof is one thing, but to get it in order to pick it (or a belief) apart -- is another. 'Nother words -- your mind is already made up (obviously), and you're looking to *validate* an opinion you already hold, by (perhaps) using the "other side's words" against them. If your mind is already convinced -- You needn't check out the "other side". Whatever you quote from them, will be slanted in your favor. Which would have been said anyway -- because it's your opinion being promoted, not the books you might have checked out.

    Go Colts

Methinks that is the Super Bowl, and not the play-offs. :D
  8. Ductape -- you haven't been following my posts too closely, have you? I have serious doubts about them now, but maybe you didn't pick up on that. I have NO issue with you, it is the idea/ thought process I'm against. Asking for something for nothing is only ok, if someone is willing to get rid of it anyway. And I grant you -- you won't know if you don't ask. To *qualify* a request by saying -- "I don't want to pay the org, but I'll pay you for shipping", is what *frosted* me. So I'll let it go at that. Regardless of what I may say about this will be *dissed*. I've said my *piece*. I wonder if you have the "ears to hear" what I am REALLY saying??? So far -- it isn't evident.
  9. Linda -- that's what bugged me (my emphasis in the bold).
  10. DuctTape -- I don't care if you're talking CES, BG, or the Webster dictionary. I'm talking about the ETHICS involved, in the above request. Looking for SOMETHING for NOTHING -- reminds me a helluva lot of docvic, and his practices. Yer turn to grow up, smell the coffee, and give credit, where credit is due.
  11. For what it is worth -- I have One God, And One Lord, and won't *chuck* it. I've also got JCING (by docvic), and his *work* pales, compared to OG&OL. And I have to agree about what others have said here, concerning this "shameless" plug to get free info ---- "Excuse me -- I would like a copy of a Billy Graham book -- but I don't agree with him theologically, and have NO wish to contribute to his org -- So who has a copy they would like to give away for free?" Buncha Bull$h!tt. If you want to access info offered by others, and aren't willing to pay for it --- You don't deserve it. If yer willing to read it, get it legally. Sure -- you'll pay for shipping?? So you support the person that bought the book, with the money God entrusted you with, yet won't support the person behind the work? You have a LOT OF GROWING UP TO DO.

Hmmmm. I'm in charge of Research And Beverage Investigation Department??? (R.A.B.I.D.) Hokee-dokee. I hear the call from on high. How can I refuse?? As the (now) recently appointed head of RABID, I have to declare the following --- Research will be relegated to Beverage ONLY. If you INSIST on researching the Word -- make it count. Verses to be researched MUST include -- Turning water into wine; Drinking wine for thy stomach's sake; Numbers 21:16, and Judges 9:21 are good resources for *research* too. (proving that the *well* is actually a watering hole, and that folks sought solace in Beer. Verses such as those that mention a kernel of wheat dying to produce *fruit*, are acceptable also -- as long as you prove that *wheat* is really *barley*, and added to the *hops for the Lord* (NOT pentecostal style). We're looking for LIQUID ASSETS HERE. We're looking for NO EMPTIES FOR THE LORD here. Now -- go thou, and research! :D

The Saints (Reggie Bush) just ran an 88 yard touchdown. The score difference is now a two point game.

Where's Roy, when ya need him!!!?? I'll give it a (very) lame attempt here --- 52 = 5 (grace) x 10 (ordinal perfection) + 2 (established); or --- 52 = 17 (combination of Spirit and Order) x 3 (completeness) + 1 (unity); or --- 52 = 5 (grace) + 2 (establishment) equaling 7 (spiritual perfection); or --- since there were 4 having birthdays on the same day, for the same age, on the same web site --- 52 divided by 4 (material creation) = 13 (rebellion, apostasy, defection, and revolution) + 1 (commencement). (Where would we be without Bullinger???) Whewwwwww!! All this mathematical gymnastics is making me thirsty!! Excuse me while I refer to my earlier post -- and grab that Guinness!! BRB. ;)
  19. Thanks for all the comments! (Keep em coming -- please!) :) I'm not worried about the long distance minutes so much, and when they start. I don't call long distance very much -- except to check in on my folks, to see how things are with them. The basic plan I've seen from Verizon, offers 450 minutes --- (7 1/2 hours), which is WAY more time than I spend on the phone anyway. I guess the thing I like about Verizon is how they cover the entire country. From what I've seen, some of the other carriers are too expensive for my taste. But these are some great suggestions/ observations here. I'm taking all of them to heart. Hap -- thanks for that. I didn't realize there might be *extra* charges. I'll be sure to ask about that.

Those of us born in the year of the Dragon (hanging out in Club 54 -- two doors down the block), salute those in Club 52. :)
  21. I've never had a cell phone, never seen the need for one, but my last few phone bills were 30 some bucks -- and I received few (if any calls) that were of importance. There have been times that I've been out in the *community*, and wished I had a cell phone to call *whomever*, as the particular situation merited. So -- I've been looking around, and have found a plethora of services, phones, etc. I know I'm in the dark ages here -- (I have two phones, and one of them is rotary dial)! I'm leaning towards Verizon -- since there (seems to be) virtually no roaming there. Cingular is not sold/operational in my area --so that's out. I'm looking for basic (as in minimal) service. I don't want internet, I don't want text messaging -- (especially the Pesh!tt@ or Aramaic text messaging!) So I'm asking who has what, and why do you like it, or not (as the case may be)?? I figure that some of the plans I've seen (so far) are about the same price I am paying now, so why not have a phone that goes with you, while paying (basically) the same price? Like I say -- I'm wanting to hear both positive, and negative experiences here. I appreciate any and all comments. Thanks, in advance.:)
  22. Hey there -- and welcome. :) Just out of curiosity -- how did you hear about this site? Color me curious -- NOT antagonistic. (FYI ---) On this site (GreaseSpot Cafe), MANY equate following God, in a different perspective than you may think. Granted --some dismiss him totally, and others (like myself) -- still believe, yet find our own way to *follow the call*. (Hey -- we were all in a cult -- what more can I say??) If you haven't been involved with twi, it will be a tedious task, for you to say things (such as you have said), without proving to us that your viewpoint is valid from OUR perspective, gained from (first-hand) experience. As I said -- I'm NOT being antagonistic -- but AM being realistic. If you bring a plate to this table, and expect us to "eat thereof", and expect immediate *validation* because you brought it --- It won't work. You need to know more about us -- and what we have put up with, and then make your suggestions. :)

Sadly -- (or not), that is not true. Don't know about you, but I used to sell insurance for a living. The company I worked for was started by W. Clement Stone. He was a BIG FAN of Napolean Hill (Think and Grow Rich), and Og Mandigo, who propounded the same BS, about "believing". The *mind over matter* teachings I heard from all of them, were re-iterated by docvic, but with bible verses. Docvic was in the same time frame as these shucksters. Makes sense (to me) that he picked upon their *teachings*. So -- enough about my *earthly mentors*, in sales. Let's look at Docvic, and what he taught/ propounded. He took a concept from the *sales pros* of his time, and parlayed that into a *Law* for us to follow. I've been to MANY sales seminars, where --- *THE LAW OF BELIEVING* has been taught -- and NO SCRIPTURE. Docvic couldn't hold a candle to these other guys. He copied their work, just like he did all the other stuff. He passed it off as his own. He is a F****** fake, as is his F****** *Law of Believing*. The *law of believing* puts the *blame* on the believers trying to do their best. It *absolves* the *ministry* of blame. If you don't receive it --it's YOU'RE fault, not ours. I P!$$ on twi and this teaching from a very great height. It is evil incarnate. (edited for spelling)
