WWJCW -- Who Would Jesus Communicate With?
-
And I will continue to be nice to you -- in chat and on the forums here. One thing (I think) EVERONE HERE AGREES WITH WITH ---, is that I am the most NON-CONFRONTATIONAL poster you will ever run across. Now -- Just because I told the story of how you came here, is due (simply) to the fact, that you have avoided other questions in the (recent) past. Be that as it may -- I'm not trying to be a *jerk*, nor will I continue to be (if you think I am). I call the cards, when they hit the table. I don't care if you're *snowed under* or not. That's your doing, not mine. For what it's worth -- I neither love you, nor hate you. All I'm doing here, is replying to your posts, and asking a coupla questions here and there. If you find that *unacceptable*, so be it. God bless, and have a nice day. :)

Sorry! :) Somehow that quote came to mind -- (First thought?????) I heard from CES/ STF today, via snail mail. Not much was revealed, except to say that John S. is now president; Gary T. is vice-president; Dan G. is treasuer; Karen T. is secretary; and Mark G, and Tom R., are still on the BOD. The letter that I got admitted that there have been *hard times*, folks are hurting, harsh words said, and prayers are still requested. I'm not gonna *quote* any of this letter here, because it is vague enough, to cause this crowd here to salivate over it, and denigrate words. Mind you -- I am not defending CES, OR accusing them. I'd like to hear the other side of the story. If it doesn't wash -- it doesn't come clean. So I'll be getting in touch with them (e-mail, phone, whatever), but thought to share this with you all here. I'll let you know when (and if I get a reply).

It's addictive as can be. It took Steve! a whole week, to *walk* some of us through it, the first time. ;)

I wrote a fiddle tune called *Hostile Amish*, back in the mid 80's. A friend of mine suggested I rename it *Buchanan's Retreat*, when that OTHER Buchanan (Pat), ran for prez -- back whenever. :). I kept the name Hostile Amish. Has a nice ring to it! (starts out in Dm, and moves to D major -- back and forth). Fine tune -- if I say so myself! WHO WANTS THE TOP OF THE PAGE???!!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: Ala -- Ya logged in???????? ;) THE TOP OF PAGE 100 IS THERE FOR THE TAKING!

Perhaps I can answer that Chas. Starbird has already ignored Socks asking the same question, and I hate to see my guitar talk buddies being ignored, so here goes. Starbird was never in twi (that much has been admitted by star here already). Star saw a post on Jehovah Witnesses Online (JWO) where Refiner, Roy, and I were talking. In one of the posts, star saw a link to GSC, and came here. How do I know this? She (I think a *she* - I could be wrong), told me so in chat here. Starbird was in chat here at GSC, quoted a verse (for whatever reason), and gave the scripture reference. It sounded familiar, but it wasn't KJV or NIV. On a hunch -- I pulled out my copy of NWT (New World Translation), used by JW's. Star's verse was word for word what I read here in the NWT. So I pm'd star here in the chatroom, and asked about it. Star asked why I asked, and I told star that was what I was reading from my copy of NWT. So star admitted it. Then I asked starbird, "How did you hear about GSC?" Star told me about the link seen from the thread where Refiner, Roy, and myself were talking. So I guess it's because of me and that link, that star's here. (I'm assuming I'm the one who posted that link, although Roy does also, when certain subjects here are being discussed), that seem *applicable* to a discussion going on over there. Regardless -- I don't know of anyone over on JWO named starbird. Meebe starbird is trolling there as someone else, since JWO is EX JW, just as we at GSC are EX twi. Starbird is (as is obvious by recent posts), still a *GUNG-HO* Jehovah's Witness. The crowd at JWO is rougher than ours, 10x over. Toleration for an active JW there is non-existant. *Snowball's chance in hell" comes to mind. So there you have it. I doubt starbird would have said how she came here. Starbird's ignored MANY direct questions already. What's one more??

Ala -- 20 posts per page. Your last one was post 1972. Mine here will be 1973. 7 more posts, until 1.980. And it is post 1981, that will put you at the top of the 100th page. :) Go thou and repent. For those that seek high places, shall be laid low. If ye seek a place at the head of the table (errr -- page), the Master Picker may come and say -- "Step down, and let a more worthy uhhhh - "penitant" poster occupy this space. Chattykathy in her humility, and continual denying of *self* (at the top of the page), is worthy. (edited for truely terrible math!)

Holy Smoke -- I see you got it!! Yer looking good! -
May as well add one of mine. I am constantly humming to myself. No particular tune, just humming a melody. I don't do it while at the computer (I like total silence then), but I do when I'm working, driving, etc., and also when I eat. Drives my co-workers nuts, since we are expected to eat dinner with the clients at the house. I never realized I did it until (after working there for maybe a whole two days), that Helen (you all may remember her from the TIM confrontations 2 years ago), slammed down her fork and said to me point blank -- "DO YOU KNOW YOU HUM WHEN YOU EAT!!??" I must've looked pretty embarrased, because Loren (our 75 year old "troublemaker") started waving his good arm, spoon still in hand at the table there "singing" (LOUDLY) -- AHHHHHEMMM HUMMM HMMM HHHHMMMM HHHHMMMMMMM, and then laughed his head off at me, as did the rest of the table! : Even these days --- It takes a conscious effort to refrain! And Loren still mocks me with his "humming", left arm waving in air, spoon in hand, at the dinner table from time to time, when I forget!

Did you make it your avatar? click on your name, go to MY CONTROLS, on the left side of the page there's a bar with different options. go to edit avatar settings, clicking on that choice, will take you to your avatar page. it will show your current avatar (in your case -- none), and there are boxes below, to add the url for your pic. by putting that url in the avatar area, it'll become your avatar. Which (I think) ------ will end up looking like this! ;) (edited for spelling, and to tell you I just clicked on your name, found your picture, and if you follow the procedure I just described, you can make it your avatar.) :) -

Sushi -- You've never offended me. Your humor and insight are seen in every post you make. I thought this thread was dead, so I never bothered to look at it, though I did tonight -- since it was near the top of the page. As for the word *Apology*, in the title --- I don't/ didn't mean it as saying "I'm sorry". The sub-title (greek for discourse), was meant to mean "This is my take on things". Songs seem to say so much. I used two that I thought reflected my take on life. Both from the past, and then again from these days. I got burnt by twi, but I Held to a Dream (first song). Due to what is going on with CES, got me thinking about These Days (second song). As I said, I have (at times) difficulty collecting thoughts in a coherent manner, for posting. Too many variables coming at me all at once, too much to think about, which to address first. that sort of thing. So -- no -- no offense taken. Like I said -- I thought this thread was dead. ;) Excie -- thank you. :) I've heard it said "3 strikes, and you're out". I got one strike with twi. I'm thinking I may have got a 2nd with CES, but the *instant replay* is (as of now), still under review. I've one strike left, but I still have the bat. Don't worry about me.
