Michael -- I too am solidly in the *buy better*, rather than *cheaper* camp. There's good instruments on the market that may cost more than some, but by the same token -- the extra $$$ you pay costs you less head-aches, in the end. Good instruments are easier to play, they sound better, you don't have to *work* as hard, etc. And if one decides that that particular instrument isn't *their cup of tea*, it's MUCH easier to sell a better instrument, than one of poor quality. I've not had an Ibanez before, but I have a friend who has a Sigma. It's an *offshoot* (read subsidiary) of Martin, made in Japan, and it sounds almost as good as my 1968 D-35 Martin. :( He found it in a pawn shop for $100.00. Good guitars are out there for cheap, with quality included! ;)

Oh --- And by the way ------- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GUITAR THREAD!! It's one year old, as of 8:12 pm tomorrow (Feb. 27th).

Moi???? Heard some neat old tunes recently that I had forgotten about. Naturally -- that was a call to get out the fiddle and the mandolin, and see if I could remember how I used to play them. ;) I got out the guitar the other day too to get the chords down to those songs, and there is a BUZZ I don't like on the high *E* string. Sounds like it is dug into the saddle (or something). Grrrrrrrrrrrr! If I can't fix it here -- to the shop it goes. :(

Of course the ducks missed --- they were *winging it*. ;) (edited to say ---) Hills,

CES is in a Mess...
dmiller replied to Captain Crunch's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
Heb. 4:12: For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Not trying to be antagonistic or anything -- however --- while you acknowledge Rev from the Father, you also (seem) to denigrate those who try to do so. Perhaps the above verse from Hebrews, should read --- For the word of God HAM [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart For what it is worth -- I can appreciate your skeptical outlook. You're entitled to it. But you're not adding a thing to the discussion here. As I've said -- I've supported CES, but now they are in the *balances*, as far as I am concerned. If you can offer some substantive evidence for what you say --- I'll listen. So far -- I see (and smell), nothing but SMOKE. You said in this quote --- Can you tell us where this happened? Or do you want to *diss* the entire proposition, based on ramblings here on an open Forum in generalities??? Or can you give facts, from when this happened to you? I'm waiting for an answer. (edited for spelling) -
I am doing this post as a public service to ChattyKathy. Taking the *top of the page*, so she doesn't have to. :B) Post freely, Chatty.

I just found the most amazing chat room tonight. WORLD WIDE BLUEGRASS. It's a live web broadcast of bluegrass music, chat room, and the DJ is there inter-acting with the folks present, taking requests from those of us (who were) there, and making comments about the general chat as well! But ya gotta love Bluegrass, Gospel, Old-Timey Music, that sort of thing, because you won't hear anything else played on it. Everyone there in the chat room is commenting on: The licks in the songs, the vocals, the abilities of the band members debating the key it should be played in, other stuff in life, talking about who's going to be in their area performing in the next month, etc. I think I might've died -- and have gone to Heaven!

Here's a site where you can hear the various British dialects, by the folks that speak them. Got this from someone I met on another board, named Celtic Mark. Once the site loads, click on any of the green dots for the regional dialects to hear the locals there speak it in their own way. I think you need Real Player for this, but it's a fun listen. :). Polar Bear-- You CHEEKY BUGGER!! ;) :P ;)

Yes it is -- and though I'm not in agreement with the Catholic tradition about this these days, I applaud Mark for following his convictions during the Lenten season. I used to do the same (adhering to church doctrine), as a Catholic. Remembering that we are made from dust, is not a bad thing. Putting thoughts and perspectives on a higher plane, can only benefit --- no matter from what pew, or from what church you come from.

Forget the *cat bed* aspect. Since cat's are so comfortable in guitar cases --- drill some air holes in it, and promote it as *live animal* transport cases for travel.

Hey there Dawn -- here's hoping it's a great one. :) (Suda -- who wears a turban in chat???)
