I agree with Belle, Paw. I think that's a good idea - - and all the doctrinal discussions are not all Christian in nature and help people de-WayBrain like other sections of the forum! J.

From OnionEater: And soon it will be covered in snow like mine! Happy Spring! Ayuh! J.

O.K. I'll bite - -anyone being secretive WANTS people to wish them a Happy Birthday - - So Happy Birthday, Hap! We love you! Hugs, J.

Shell, dear - -I think Belle is naming the child after "Z" - - who IS the Waydale baby Great Pic, Rascal. Hi Z - - you look great in your jammies (O.K. - - I was JUST kidding) - - nice pose! J.

Oh my! How did I miss your birthday??? Happy belated birthday, dear George. You always lend such a sweet presence to the conversation here (even if you are green!) Welcome to the start of the second half of your first century! :) J.

Now tonight, after being in chat, it booted me out every time someone new came in. Then finally, when I tried to get back in, it kept giving me a Macromedia script error. Oh well! J.

Yes, that was, Belle. I just came in from walking Oliver who was on a bunny hunt :) The temp is up to a nice 46 degrees, sun is shining, birds were singing and we saw FOUR robins hopping around. My first purple bud popped open in the front yard. Daffodils are standing at attention waiting for Easter to near. Yes, spring is near. J.

Sorry about your Illini, George. That was a huge lead to lose like that. Too bad. Our IU lost last night too, though they gave it a good try. We weren't expecting them to necessarily get to the 16, but it would have been great to see Mike Davis' face if they had. Good bye, Mike. You'll be missed by the locals. J.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of corps training

OMG, T-Bone - - I remember poor Lucky! And Jeff! Oh man, what a funny guy (and could he do a mean Texas two step!). Groucho, I had the distinct privilege of doing "chicken duty" three times and hog slaughter twice. By the time I left RC, I could barely look at meat for a while. The stench of hog blood in warm weather kinda stays with you for a spell And yes, dear Cool, they WOULD serve chicken the same day we slaughtered chickens. The funniest "meat" duty though was making sausage with Tony Kl*eiwer's crew - - which at the time was a few of us (very bad) married women and about 5 single moms - - OMG - - DO NOT ever make sausage with a group of women who have been locked away too long in a cult campus in the middle of no where. T-Bone and Tonto will appreciate that J*nny Sn*w was the main ringleader. We laughed so hard, we nearly "blew up" some of her 10 lb. "manly" sausages. Even clean cut Tony could not refrain from joining in on all of our good-natured fun! J. -
The big day is FINALLY HERE!!! To our wonderful, funny, sweet (and Chatty) Kathy~ May you have a song in your heart all day (O.K., go ahead and make it all week!). Celebrate, enjoy, have fun! Happy, happy day! Love you, dear lady. J.

Good poll, CW. I chose "Corps grad/ rue the day I fell for it..." I loved God and was studying the Bible prior to my time in twi. My involvement in twi was alienating to family and my inlaws, steered me away from important educational goals, subjected my marriage and children to much uninvited noseyness and criticism, not to mention the "abundance" of false doctrine and horrendous practice to which we subjected ourselves. Those false doctrines and the patterns of behavior I learned in RESPONSE to the practices have been extremely difficult to root out since 1989. Over the years, I've also had "mixed" feelings similar to the others stated above about the "love" of the people we met. Yes, we did have some wonderful, sometimes Godly groups of people, some of whom even became friends - - but I have met wonderful people and friends throughout my life's journey OUTSIDE of twi circles, who have provided rich friendships, deep loyalty and love - - not based on my involvement in a particular group. I still have some wonderful friends who are ex-twi folks. I value them and their friendship. My non-extwi friends have certainly been much more loyal, less hypocrytical and judgmental, and have far less baggage to deal with than my extwi friend, to be perfectly honest. So for me, although life is good, I find myself living life and making up for some lost, misdirected time from during my twi years. I am still harboring a pit of grief in my heart for the casualties that are our collective lives as my mind still struggles to grasp the picture that has emerged of what twi REALLY was (due to sites like this who allow our collective shared experiences to connect the dots). I prefer Live Chat for the following reasons: 1. Flash Chat is very slow to load. 2. Once it loads, there is a lag in what is being displayed as you type, so if you are a fast typist, it seems to put your message in terminable hold, putting your comment up 4-5 lines later than when you typed it - - which makes for a very disjointed chat conversation (not that most of our conversations aren't) ;) 3. Flash Chat appears to freeze up about every other time I have visited. 4. When it's not freezing up and booting me out, then it does intermittently "bump" my comments as someone enters or leaves the room, i.e., I'll have typed a comment, hit enter just as someone is entering or leaving, chat freezes, other comments appear and mine is lost. 5. I do like the smiley and avatar options in Flash Chat, but the color thing still is awful (yes, even with the "select gray") and too often we spend time missing comments because someone has chosen a color that is very difficult for old eyes to detect. :) 6. I miss the sounds available in Live Chat. 7. I agree with Hap (don't faint, Hap) ;) - - it would be nice for a larger message display screen in Live Chat. I think that about does it. J.

Happy Birthday old friend (that's old as in long time friend, not old as in age - - as I'm sure that cute thang of a hubby keeps you young!) Hope you are well and enjoying the day - - and hope hubby is spoiling you rotten as usual! Good to see you back here lately! Love, J.

Hey Onion, darlin! Hoping it's been a happy and wonderful day! Happy birthday! J. P.S. my first crocuses are up - - spring can't be far away in the tundra region

Kathy ~ Oh, I was out of town and thought I had missed it! Well, I'll have to come back on the 19th. We do celebrate all week long in my family (mostly cuz we are all notorious for missing dates), so we decided if we had an entire week to work with, it would be easier to hit! LOL J.

You are SUCH a doll! Happy birthday, special lady! J.

Lindy: After knowing you as a little guy at RC, it's so wonderful to see the sweet husband, father and all round great guy you've turned out to be. Happy birthday to you. May it be a special and fun day! J. -
