  1. plus the 1200 baud connection into the phone line.. well, linux, even today can do wonders at 1200 baud. As long as you like text..
  2. what is wrong with this picture.. well.. to start. The computer features an intel 8088. or is that an 80286.. and the monitor. It looks like an original green monitor. Or a CGA monitor.. the graphics don't make much sense. "Windows" with that kind of task bar would not have exactly fit.. especially on a machine only fitted with a 80286.. the "kid" is far out of the league here.. Not to mention the printer. No, it was not a 64 pin dot matrix printer..
  3. No, I think it is not a belief, It is an illusion.. one day, the fire, or the light, will burn all of this away.. no, it will not hurt. until then, I guess we are all screwed.. freedom.. who of you shall go.. it will include the cats in the house here.. hey.. old testament included flocks, didn't it?
  4. I might be able to make the genitive of origin and efficient cause sound pretty exciting.. but could da vicster? he was such a moron.. I'd have the group read Bullingers work.. then have some kind of open discussion.. instead, he chose to embody the definition of a "turd".. sowie.. and the worst part here. he segregated those "worthy" of mind numbing droning.. from those who were not worthy.. sowie, again..
  5. I mean.. these were our ancestors, were they not? As a human being.. I am at the LEAST curious about what they thought..
  6. It was figuratively. But it's the same thing, isn't it? da vicster appears on the scene.. dazzles them with whatever it is that he was.. if the greasespot cuss checker would just leave me alone.. Yes. He f*cked the living s*it out of them. spiritually, of course. they've never been able to find another "lover" quite like *him*..
  7. that's ok. but were you able to stay awake?
  8. maybe you need to try spending them in a different venue.. does it have the correct dead president and founder's image properly displayed?
  9. so it comes down to what.. what if in one brief microsecond, or some measure of a second, you saw that everything you believed, or thought you believed, was just, plain, wrong.. a dear, dear dear friend asked me.. so what now? Where do you go from there? (inexact quote) my answer is.. in this life, it has been one step of deception after another.. so friggin what. it's the *best* they could do.. but not surprising, or unexpected. In a weird way, I saw it coming all along.. the Master of nuttiness, tells me I'm generous here..
  10. Here is a link to Rolleston's work http://philologos.org/__eb-mazzaroth/101.htm whether you agree or not.. it gives you a look into some fairly "primitive" beliefs. these pictures and names were passed down relatively uncorrupted from antiquity..
  11. How many hours? what was it with this? didn't he trust people to read Bullingers figures of speech, how to enjoy the bible, and a few pages in the critical lexicon and concordance? if I could guess.. "outside materials" were probably verboten.. until da vicster could "work" it and drone on for hours on end.. How many of you actually stayed awake during the whole "presentation"? I read a story about a Roman Centurion, who could stand watch, and sleep, while standing perfectly at attention..
  12. I think the lies and falsehood caught up with him.. I think at the end he died a helpless, disease ridden, bitter, angry man.. grasping at straws to the end. One whopper after another.. "I gave my EYE for da *ministry*.."
  13. and did he realize what would happen when somebody compared his "works" to the originals? so he manufactures more whoppers.. it was GOD who taught it to him, as promised by an audible voice.. "well, no wonder its the same.. its TRUE isn't it?" "besides.. in those early days.. I put aside ALL else and studied da bible sixteen hours a day.." higgins called him on it.. "hey, you sound a LOT like this book I've read.."
  14. I think where the lies turns sour, is when you have amassed a following of some tens of thousands. They slowly age.. the "magic oil" does not reliably guarantee health, financial success, the retention of one's teeth.. without intervention from the evils of higher education, medical and dental care.. then one has to manufacture even bigger whoppers. "It's YOUR fault. Go figure it out, and when you do, report back to me.." in other words, "I don't have a clue.. but I won't even consider admitting that.. I've got da Answers.." "you must be possessed.." "You HAD to have 'missed it' on some 'principle' of st vic"
  15. Isn't it at least intriguing.. here we have a "christian(?)" "minister". And seemingly, about the only time he can exemplify the "holiness" of his calling is when he is on stage somewhere, or in front of a camera. How can the facade be so dazzling.. that for decades later, certain individuals still practically worship him? Still cling to the belief that he was *really* some kind of man of god? What about the plagiarism? "Doesn't make any difference.." What about the alcoholism? "Didn't make him a "bad man".." what about his *habit* of cornering women, some unwilling..? what about the fits of anger, lashing out indiscriminately.. sending God's people into harms way, when there were alternatives.. "well, its still the word.." born again? I would say.. "born again" only in front of a camera, or crowd. Or when it suited him.. and the real tragedy here.. creating his own grandson in vic's image..
  16. there is great wanker, and lesser wanker. Da victoid was the latter of the two..
  17. to innocent bystanders here. This was not intended to be an *entirely* serious discussion. that really is how I understand Bullinger in this.. it is up to the reader..
  18. Orion is "easy". The three stars in his belt. easy to find. but Argo is on page 157. Close to the end of the book.. The return of the great emigrant-ship.. but still.. even 50,000 years ago, there would be nothing in the named stars to suggest any kind of form..
  19. As far as the "star pictures" are concerned: from page 17. "There is nothing in the groups of stars to even suggest the figures. this is the first thing which is noticed by every one who looks at the constellations. Take for example the sign of Virgo, and look at the stars. There is nothing whatever to suggest a human form; still less is there anything to show whether that form is a man or a woman. And so with all the others."
  20. Some might consider some of Bullinger's structures contrived.. but what he does with Psalm 19 on Pages 2-6 is impressive.. of course the vicster greatly plagiarized this in the CFAS class..
  21. sometimes, they enjoy the pictures that illustrate the text.. Bullinger does have a lot of nice pictures. plus he cites his sources. Rolleston, Seiss, Kinns.. this seems to be the "softest" work by Bullinger. page iv.. he leaves it up to the reader to judge how far his conclusions are borne out of the evidence.. to me that seems reasonable.
  22. the way I understand this, so far 9 out of 11 claim that examining the life of vic, he was either not "born again" or they could not tell..
  23. So its all over except for rosie's marking and avoiding, putting on probation, etc, etc.. with all the fuss, you'd think old rosie was among the "investors"..

    Connect

"connect" really gets my attention.. do we want to connect or not.. you are going to have to let go of a whole bunch of s*it. I've already let go, and lost everything as it is. except for love.. sorry if it is demanding too much of mortal participants here..
