  1. Dunno- some of my first thoughts about some things, like the guy in india who was supposedly healed, were, "this is full of s**t" Maybe it works sometimes!
  2. Somehow, I think they conned each other. Maybe ole craigers looked like da man that VP wished he could be..
  3. Yep.. ole craigers couldn't come up with a new concept if it bit him in the a**. He just gave the first thought nonsense a new name- "genuine spiritual suspicion".
  4. Now, you "oughter" no do that..
  5. Same here. I think I would have back in days I spent in da ministry. After leaving, at first, I had to make myself sit and seriously evaluate what people had to say that may not agree with my beliefs. But I am not gullible either.. did that once already.
  6. At least it would be a first year in a coon's age that he would not see his shadow.
  7. Only five days to Groundhog Day. It's a national holiday you know.. when they open Phil's heated burrow and find him frozen dead to the ground.. I wonder what that means.
  8. Where Paw hid the catnip. What else could it be?

    Countdown to 5,000

Congrats likewise. Now Exie has even more competition moving up through the ranks..
  10. It was only twelve below this morning. I think I feel a heat wave..
  11. I only made one real move- came here in 1977 as a WOW and stayed.
  12. Krysillis, I remember watching that also. One thing that scientists seem to agree on is that for life to exist, there has to be an environment that has water- and it has to be liquid. With few exceptions, anywhere you look on our planet, where there is water, there is life. I don't know about the dead sea- just may be too salty. I saw another video recently, forget the name of the thing.. but they were interviewing a large handful of the scientists at NASA. They did not rebut the suggestion of life elsewhere, but the essence of it was that the world we are on is not quite as ordinary as Carl Sagan suggested. I think the most interesting point was that we are situated precisely in a place that would stimulate intellectual development. Being situated outside of one of the spiral arms of our galaxy gives us a nice clear view of the creation. Most other places in the galaxy are filled up with dust and junk that impair the view of the universe. Toward the center of the galaxy, they pretty much concurred that conditions were just too inhospitable. The other point made was that our planet is on a narrow ring that would allow conditions hospitable for life. In my opinion, if God did not want man to enjoy and study his creation, He picked the wrong place to put him.
  13. Actually, now that I remember it, in one of my more lucid moments, about two years ago late in the afternoon, I did see an object in the sky. Shiny dot, it moved from horizon to horizon in a matter of a several seconds. I do not think it was a plane, no vapor trail behind it. No idea what it was- could have been a satellite- but I don't know if they move that fast. Suppose they could. At least it did not stop, park, and ET come out and say hello..
  14. MStar, I agree.. the guy behind the counter with three eyes started giving me a few suspicions.
  15. Cow Girl- first I ever saw of that. Convinces me! But McDonald's- I always thought they had one on every corner, but whew... Galen, I AM an electonics tech, heh heh.. funny, my mother once said something about how when I was younger I seemed to be so much "different"..
  16. Actually, the cloud on the right looks like somebody extending the middle finger with their left hand towards da camp there. Yep, springs on the way.. it's seven below (and that's farenheit) here tonight.
  17. Oh well exie.. I guess I can't have everything! One of the other things I kind of wanted to know was what the people here thought. What are your beliefs? Have your opinions or beliefs changed regarding ET since leaving da ministry? For me personally, I can't really say I believe in ET, just have not gotten enough real info to rule it out. Too often I have been proven wrong when I thought I had all the answers. You all have been certainly more than kind. Can you imagine asking this kind of question in "twig"? heh heh. Woulda gotten "the bums rush" for sure!
  18. Strange one, if only the rest of us could be so "lucky"!
  19. Thanks for all of the responses so far. This was just one more of the subjects that I sorta "put on the back burner" during my vey years. Anything I ever heard from anybody in the ministry during those years certainly did not encourage me to ask any questions about it! Mass devil spirit possession did not sound like a very reasonable explanation, at least to me. Some of the "events" have happened in broad daylight over Mexico City and other places. Must be pretty powerful debils, make all those people see the objects and possess all the cameras and video recorders at the same time too. I think that explanation gives evil just a little too much credit. Maybe it is some kind of natural phenomena, as of yet unexplained. A more honest answer to "what's da deal?" would be "we don't know". I Rarely heard that one in the ministry. Personally, I have never met E.T. But it is a pretty big universe.
  20. Yep. Ole craigers was gonna go stand in the crap (sorry, stand in the gap- same thing anyway) for the precious lil hearts of the younguns. At least that was the spin he put on it. Somehow, with Herculean effort, he was gonna stand between the kids and "devilish" influences. Holy cow, unless these kids were really, really, "sheltered" from the evils of da debil, they were exposed to just about as gruesome images on TV and video games. The corpse kids in my area sure did not fall into the category of a protected childhood. They were free to do almost anything they wanted. I think craigers privately probably went into a rage. Publically, he sure did not seem to be very calm about it. How dare they expose "his" kids to a lie? After all, that is what he and his predecessor believed- holocaust never happened, Jews lied, Jews really were not Jews anyway- that the whole thing was manufactured so that the Jews could get the money. Incredible. This kind of crap coming from an "educated" man troubles me. Personally, I think he was chosen to run the outfit because he was about the lowest brain of the bunch. Proved himself to blindly follow hair brained stupidity to the letter. Without his mentor, he couldn't just leave things alone, he had to come up with junk that was even worse. Anyway, what would have been the big deal if the kids went? I think I know- they would ask questions. And the parents or staff would not have adequate answers. Just stupid stuff like chemical analysis done on bricks that were never even in the camps to begin with. Kids are pretty smart; most will not settle for stupid answers.
  21. Well, I guess that's their claim to fame- "nobody else teaches and lives da verd like we do". Thank God..
  22. HCW, maybe he learned to use the right kind of deodorant..
  23. For the nay-sayers: Where Squirrels come from
  24. What really got me on this is it seems that some people have seen SOMETHING. The usual off the cuff religious reaction is "well, that just cannot be". "We all just KNOW that there isn't anything else out there, I read it in da bible". Funny, I can't seem to be able to find that particular passage. What about the angels? Where do they "reside"? If the bible is true about angels and their existence, you automatically have at least one other highly intelligent "life form" out there somewhere. Perhaps there may be more going on than most religious folk are willing to concede. I think a more honest reply would be "well, I just don't know". That would sit a lot better with me. But apparently some are supposed to be experts in all life and godliness. I have observed that a lot of religious folk feel rather threatened at the prospect of somehow having their belief system challenged. So, what if there was an ET? How does that effect God's contract with man, man's redemption, etc.? Personally, I don't see how it would. So, what did they see? "simon saw" ya know.. Dunno. If I met ole Rosie trotting down the middle of wienerville road on a cold, dark night, I may be convinced too, but I am talking about INTELLIGENT life here.
