    Life is messy..

Life is MESSY. And I have found mid- life to be especially so... so, what do you folks do to clean it up? Well, lacking the funds for a first class psychiatrist, and enough tranquilizers to stop a bull moose.. there have to be a few options... hmmmm. Kinda tough if you happen to be somebody's worst nightmare.. So.. what do you do? :) Serious and silly answers are welcome here.. I'm sure anything would help..
  2. Woo Hoo! I'm at Abi's house.. and will see you all tomorrow!
  3. Heh heh. Well, I'd have some kind of fun.. a half a gallon of wine.. all to myself! Bennigans wasn't an entire bust though Paw.. they had the best chicken ceasar salad and brew I've had for quite a while..
  4. Why, beer and schnapps.. least I could do! Plus the illustrious position: First Minister of Beer!
  5. Well, looks like he's gone, or gone "anonymous" again.. oh well. To bad he can't come to the wienie roast.. I'd share my wine, and give him something to laugh about me for a change..
  6. Yes, the law itself seems to be what it is: black and white.. Seems the "problem" is people. So many individuals.. add people and a standard, and something HAS to break. Unfortunately, its usually the people.. Seems the great command has a lot to do with the answer: "love worketh no ill to his neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law" (Rom 13:10) But the opposite is NOT always true, apparently.. and it would be like sweeping the floor with the wrong end of the broom..
  7. Well.. I'm waiting for rosie to step aside.. and I will assume my rightful place.. Hey, Moony, we ARE gonna need some nice music for the place.. I hear you may have a "connection" or two.. :)
  8. Good morning. Well, I'll be off to the wienie roast.. time with the best friends I have ever had. I'll bet you wish you could come..
  9. Belle, I'll second your opinion here.. but may go a little further.. Being around the most confrontational, loathsome, hateful, arrogant "Christians".. and seeing what they often do and say to other people.. almost makes me want to deny that I even belong to the same club..
  10. Shell.. you have to admit.. at least we have made SOME advancements in last few thousand years..
  11. I don't see how there are still folks that refuse to even entertain the possibility that the man just plain LIED. Toto's pulled back the curtain.. all the world can see the naked truth.. "Angels LIED to him about the weather.." ha. :D What I wonder though.. Precisely WHEN did he reveal this "awesome" truth? Was TWLIL the first time.. or was it before.. if before, how long before? Late sixties? early seventies? Perhaps this undisputed (at least at the time) claim ESTABLISHED vic as THE HEAD HONCHO, Top dog, Alpha Male of da pack, you get the idea.. Perhaps this kind of "leverage" figures in the great vey east/ vey west skirmish.. I saw a National Geographic special once.. two witchdoctors vying for position.. and the most "convincing" proof of their power was that the one guy could regurgitate handfuls of latex, claiming that he was ridding himself from the "spirits" the other witchdoctor was putting on him.. Funny how the Lord works.. I thought, hmmmm. I think I've seen all this before.. But it makes a little more sense to me.. who are the people going to believe? The guy who loves God, doing his best at the time.. or to the guy with the unchallenged claim that angels lied to him.. again, and again, and again..?
  12. ummm, oh yes.. would whoever said they made arrangements for my stay please PT or something? Sorry, I've been almost brain dead this month..
  13. My prayers are with you too..
  14. Same here.. have a wonderful day, Tonto!
  15. So.. the answer seem to be more that.. SOME people are fundamentally evil, selfish, covetous, lazy, fearful, violent.. that HAVE to be led with a hook in their nose to keep themselves from hurting themselves and others.. but RARELY does it seem to work.. and those who hold the law- the zealously religious- seem to be often the worst. Primitive- yielding to primitive, godless, knee jerk reactions to situations that are bad enough to begin with.. Yes, I've had enough encounters with them too.. Just another nice "thought for the day", heh heh.
  16. I will bring coffee.. one and a half cups of this stuff, and you'll forget you ever even had the worst hangover of your life..
  17. I dunno.. offshoots may be more doctrinally "comfortable".. and I have enjoyed talking with/ fellowshipping a LITTLE bit with some folks around here.. But why be comfortable? I have found "saints", in other very, very unusual circumstances.. doctrinally, does not even closely resemble the old ministry I was involved with.. and the joy is almost undescribable.
  18. In a way Belle, never made sense to me either. Somehow, the Almighty just hangs the spirit up in a celestial "closet" somewhere.. Tells it that it has to wait for some kind of new body, and gives it a big dose of "spiritual" knock out drops.. Doesn't make much sense to me. Makes about as much sense as purgatory..
  19. "have a nice day", heh heh heh. I dunno.. I think I kind of get the message.. but it just seems like common sense to me.. makes no sense to me why others don't/can't.. but fundamentally, are we THAT primitive? Perhaps..
  20. Or perhaps a fear. This fear may be about what they are frightened that they themselves may become.
  21. :D Now there are some novel new ideas! It could double as a Greasespot version of "hell".. or a "time-out room"..
  22. And who says 8 tracks are a thing of the past..
  23. Belle, even thinking about that old stuff is getting me dizzy.. :D
