  1. His health fails, as the rest of us..
  2. You suddenly woke up, and everything you believed was, just, plain, WRONG.. "I would be very angry" was one reply.. why? I mean, wouldn't one be relieved of responsibility or something? It wasn't my fault.. it wasn't my delusion.. everything was wrong. Up was not "down". that would be more predictable.. not down.. in less than a fraction of a second.. why be angry. They asked.. You were deceived.. every thing I have experienced has so far been one step (or was it) one stumbling block along the way..
  3. My friend is buried slightly on this side of mt Pleasant.. maybe this is poetic or something.. it's the same dull story .. I didn't have the time to be the friend I was supposed to be.. I imagine the same dull, lifeless story plays out, one time after another.. I dunno. :)
  4. my dear friend Raleigh Wert was on one of those submarines. He said among a few other statements: the kitchen is always open, for whatever meal you can imagine, on a self-perpetuating environment.. they would HAVE to leave the subject of food open ended.. all the steaks you could even imagine.. no Diesel exhaust to endure. I mourn his passing.. we shared a common love- Morse
  5. eventually, yes.. just most would not have the patience to wait..
  6. I dunno.. the Squirrel needs more Cabernet.. in the real world, what I am looking at or for is.. a logical justification, for the current body to lose about 12 or so pounds. but weight slowly stays stable. a low count of platelets without a visible blood loss.. larger than normal red blood cells.. this means what.. I dunno.
  7. gawd.. It's coffee, isn't it? stretched or not.. some caffeine is infinitely better than no damned caffeine..
  8. when a "student" can rock my world.. what a wonderful world it really is.. the square root of two is irrational. I asked them.. do you REALLY take my word that this is irrational? I had to prove this to myself.. they will have to prove the same. Depending upon their destiny, anyway.. I can show you the proof.. the question is, can you understand it, or believe it's ramifications.. Sorry raf. I generally go back to my weakness. Math.. it's my weakest point..
  9. it is embarrassing when you do this in front of students. Or is it? I really did this.. the range of the function.. it looks TO ME like all real numbers.. and the smart guy with the calculator says.. it looks like we have a horizontal asymptote at y = 3.. god.. I loved it.. I must have rapidly walked around in an ellipse at three times with a smile on my face..
  10. and HOPEFULLY you were *right* to begin with..

    Reincarnation

I've pre-maturely made use of reincarnated hard drives. You can't do much with the aluminum platter, except sell it for what it is worth in aluminum. With the right shop I could turn them into high voltage variable capacitors. Now the magnets in the base of the voice coil used to move the read/write heads.. one can do a lot of "old" things with these.. they make really nice utensil holders.. no, you were Chia Pet. Then Chia Pet II, then Chia Pet III..

    Reincarnation

the one radio in my garage.. is beyond hope of restoration in its original form. but it has a few vital parts that along with a few transistors could still actually function.. it has a tank circuit for the oscillator. a mixer stage, and i.f. filters.. well, it's A.M. only. a cheap germanium diode for detection.. I have a few dozen of these somewhere around here.. this radio, is The Challenge..

    Reincarnation

"Radios Reincarnated"!!! maybe that's the name I've been looking for.. a business that picks up old technology, recycles it of sorts, and makes it so it will do modern technological wonders..

    Reincarnation

While I tend to lean in the direction of a belief in reincarnation.. I've had the nutty dreams, impressions.. are they real? I don't know, nor could I ever prove them, outside of spouting out the numerical sequence of a Swiss bank account in a previous life or something.. and that is why this particular thread is not doctrinal. I'm going with loy's definition of way theology, that reincarnation cannot be true, because so many supposed past lives were IMPORTANT. Being kings, queens, princes, princesses and duchesses, Billionaires.. this differs from many who I have talked with. As a general rule, they seem to remember being plain, ordinary folks.. my impressions, whether they are true or not: 1. I died in battle once, the clothing in the dream would indicate early 1800's. not a general, a corporal.. an ordinary grunt of sorts. A lot of poor, relatively in terms of society unimportant people have died in wars. 2. then there was one I was a dishonest businessman. Had to have been in early 1920's maybe.. died at the wrong end of a handgun. apparently I slept with the bosses wife. 3. Dishonest radio repair guy. Overcharged customers to replace parts that were still healthy. Well, just keep replacing and charging until the thing is fixed.. this would have to be in the forties. Somehow I think this is the guy who got shot.. what is weird, is when I was about 10 years old I looked at a schematic diagram, and it made sense to me.. still #3 can't be considered royalty or anything. but these are only impressions. true or not, I can't defend or argue for or against. and it is the same for others I've talked with. So as far a formulated way theology, I think the conclusion (it cannot be true) is not supported by the premise (most of the *experiences* suggest the pre-life was one of *importance*).
  15. Sorry for the side discussion Raf.. can I ask you what got you on this? Just curious.
  16. maybe Raph has a good reason to be abrasive. Well, assuming he really is.. it's sometime hard to read emotion and motivation in a written format.. What would you do if in one split second you realized everything you believe, or believed was just plain, wrong. Maybe it is not as extreme as that.. for the person so "afflicted" (but I think it is really a divine(?) gift.) it is like death.. unfortunately the process is not very pleasant unless it proceeds quite rapidly..

    Reincarnation

Possible. But in either case, whether the impression is legitimate or not (not quite the subject here, but it could be..)it violates loys rants against reincarnation. In other words, you weren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth, again, and again.. there are those among us who seem to think differently, though.. possible..
  18. So I remember loy ranting on about why everybody who had some kind of remembrance of past lives, it involved the person being a priest, a princess, a king, i.e. somebody "important". The conclusion? Reincarnation MUST be an ungodly delusion. Not so many people could be king of egypt, head of the stock exchange, etc. To which I say, every life I have an IMPRESSION, false or otherwise, of living before, I was an ordinary, serf (or slightly enhanced) numbnuts in the social chain..
  19. sometimes that I how I solve mathematical problems. But if my pre-supposed "solution" is not correct, the evidence ends up in a far removed place from my proposed solution.
  20. Your pole is good enough.. in statistics they taught us the "no opinion" option sometimes skews the data, i.e. gives the respondent a way out of answering a difficult question. my response would be "I think something happened, I'm just not quite so sure what it was.." sowy for the Squirrelish diversion here..
  21. Raf, I did not vote in the pole. If you had a "I dunno" option, I would have taken it.. I've had several "I dunno" experiences, one big one since leaving twi.. during sober moments (not drug or otherwise induced). there are logical options: 1. The brain burped the right chemicals at the right(?) time. 2. Maybe what I saw was real enough.. 3. Maybe I'm just, plain nuts (maybe the more likely explanation) so it goes with tongues. Was I faking? I dunno. I don't think so at the time. Was it meaningful? I dunno. Maybe at one time it was. Was I just plain nuts, and self-deluded? Possibly. Too many I dunno's for me to say much more, at least as to my own experience.
  22. A different question, or is it really different? Why do the offshoots perpetuate the practice of s.i.t., along with claims of proof of eternal life and all? is it possible, that at least in some cases, those who partook in wierwille's sins need some re-affirming hope that babbling in some non-english gibberish guarantees they have eternal life, at least going to the right place? You know- not going to the lake of fire, which is a logical end for those who behaved like the vicster? I would call it a "vested interest" for some.
  23. "TWI involvement: a long, convoluted detour on the path of life"
  24. Hmmm. Any such accusation just KILLS any kind of dialogue.. doesn't it? You don't even have to be satanic. Just "crazy" enough and whole posts disappear sometimes.. But don't take it hard. You're just a Friend of the Devil. A Friend of the Devil is a Friend of mine.. at least that's how the old song goes..
