Sounds like the Spanish Inquisition.. Apply enough "pressure" to force a change.. "Are you ready to recant yet, brother?" "Jeeves, bring the thumb screws.." Only difference, in the good old U.S.A., people are required to pay, and sign a permission slip.

from http://www.uia.net/~messiah7/mom_psychtechniq.htm "PHYSICAL discomfort" "may contain risks of PHYSICAL or PSYCHOLOGICAL injury.." anxiety.. hold harmless for DEATH arising from the "training"?? If any, I wonder how many have died. Death arising from the training must be in the hold-harmless agreement for a reason.

Well, I would reserve that priviledge to the Master himself. If loy helped anybody, especially later in his "ministry", I think it was in spite of himself. Mr. 123, I heard that claim too. He boasted about how many he ran off, people better than himself.

I think we got it back.

Letter from John Lynn
Ham replied to Jeff USAF RET's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
I don't like to disagree so much either.. Does God really need ME? perhaps, to do what he wants ME to do. I can't put what he wants me to do in the small box of starting a new work, "duplicating myself" so to speak.. I don't know if the world could even stand another one of "me" I would hope there is no room for another like me either.. -
Almost like "this buffoon is gonna do himself in, then, woo hoo.." This pic would make a rather interesitng "caption this"
-
What's up with that pic- that's what I was wondering. I was out before this pic showed the scene here. Anybody know the context? Was loy just "giggles" the clown? Rosie looks so "happy" it is almost troubling..
-
But what about this picture? I always wanted to ask.. I recognize the Hugh Hefner outfit, but the "colorful" wig? Is he dressed up like Timothy Leary, or what?
-
I hope nobody had to frame the "Hefner" picture

Naw, I didn't think you were rude at all. Sometimes I'm as clear as mud, just tried to clarify a little bit -
"The Man of God for our Day and Time" 1. One enmeshed in grandiose self-importance. 2. certifiable lunatic
-
I remember when branch coordinator's wife came back from some minor surgery- these sycophants had meals and service planned for weeks in advance..

Yeah, I think that was what I was trying to say, in a different way. Just that to tell JL "God told me the trinity is true" would be one way to get off the CES "honor role". -
Here is the other "personality" when he wasn't busy being Saul of Tarsus: The scary part of it, is how many thousands of people did he get to go along with the gag? Man Of Gawd for our Day and Time.. sheesh. My "problems" are pretty small.. compared to this.. "paranoid", "insane", and guilty of trying to "remould reality" is a pretty apt description here.. in my personal opinion, anyway..

At times, my experience with "religion" tempts me greatly to come to the same conclusion Freud did.. Looky here: Sometimes, I think I still believe in a God despite these idiots.

Charging for a bible class.. Some think it is appropriate, but I think it was part of the marketing scheme itself. I think the fee (or "donation") was used partly to suggest that the classes were actually worth it. You can take those "free" classes, but what do they know? "WE charge because this is a better product.."
-
Yep.. I think we were duped into paying money period. Interesting how the class fees were touted as a "donation", but don't "donate" the specified amount- no class.

"Doctor" " 1. A doctor, or a medical practicioner" 2. A degree earned at a major university, earned from hard work and scholastic excellence. 3. A grifter with a sheepskin from a second rate degree mill"

"teaching" "lambasting existing christian doctrine; publically destroying a Living Bible as as an example of what living the 'true word' is all about"

No wonder she is not exactly a household word as far a CES or even other offshoots are concerned. -
I dunno.. I think I could "handle" it. I'll sign the waiver, if they sign mine. waiver
-
I dunno.. logicallly speaking, springing this agreement on somebody after the deal is done is kind of underhanded, in my opinion. I repair stuff for a living at the moment. It would be like me having the customer signing a waiver holding me harmless, in case I was negligent, the TV repair went wrong and burned their house down. "oh, by the way, if you DON'T sign, the repair will cost you $300.00 more.." You don't do that with THINGS. Why in God's name, do they do that with PEOPLE?
-
no kidding. Still.. why would they spring the hold harmless agreement on people, AFTER they've purchased the "product"? It's very suspect, to me. It's almost like, "oh, by the way, we are not mental health professionals. If we beat the snot out of you, it's YOUR 'problem'" It doesn't sit very well with me. If you got something out of the experience, good for you.. others apparently were not as lucky.

They were SO successful, some people STILL have a perception of vp that is "larger than life" People still think he was an apostle, a prophet, a teacher.. and hold his "package" sacrosanct. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
-
I was there, I would agree. The first picture I saw of vp, his eyes were bugging out.. I wondered if the old guy was on LSD himself.. no kidding- I actually thought that at the moment. "Marketing is selling perception REGARDLESS OF VALIDITY" That is the whole point here. Make it look bigger than life, almost "legendary"..
