Looks like fun. I'll have to try it when I get home a little later.. might make a good personal picture for the profile..
  2. I kinda thought the almonds tasted a little "funny".. hmm.
  3. I remember sitting through the class, and thinking "well, what's the big deal.." when's the big payoff? Spiritiual wisdom and understanding? Mind blowing "revelation"? "well, maybe you're not ready to really see what's in da class. Some people have to take it a number of times before Gawd can really get through to them.." after about six or seven times, I had the thing practically memorized.. still, there was never a "rebirth" of understanding, or anything like that..
  4. In all fairness.. I think it is pretty close to reality. I remember people sitting around counting how many times the vicster said "christ in you" or "throughly perfected" trying to attach some kind of spiritual significance to it.. or trying to analyze the class with "structures" like Bullinger did with the bible.. no kidding.
  5. ya know Socks, you could have just left it at that.. Hey.. I was one of the poor saps that had to drink "stretched" coffee out of those things, and some of them still had lipstick stains on them, some even had bite marks..
  6. I wanted to be a chemist and math guy. Maybe even physics major on top of it. I'm in electronics now, soon to be chemist and math guy, at least one with a degree..
  7. Yeah. What is interesting, people actually learned a lesson from history. Japan, Germany, Europe.. to this day some are still quite angry that "we" rebuilt after the war. But what would be the alternative? Load down the average German and Japanese citizen with hardship and debt that they couldn't repay for decades? I think world war three would have risen out of the ashes.
  8. hmm. maybe that's a new slant on the story.. a squirrel, tomatos, and a slingshot.. "and the borg, collectively leave their collective screaming, "we're not GREEN anymore..".."
  9. Instead of entirely hijacking the vey production thread, I thought I'd be kind and bring this to the top.
  10. Perhaps.. what if he merely have the authority to dole it out? Doesn't make him the author of it so to speak. doesn't necessarily mean every time a person dies, the devil did it.. I had a hard time reconciling that thought with reality even when I was really *IN* der vey. Some guy, 103 years old.. worn out.. somehow, he gets "tricked" by the devil, and thereby dies.. never really set well with me. Personally, I don't know if I would agree anymore that the devil and the "angel of death" spoken of are exactly one and the same. I could easily snuff out a whole colony of ants if I wanted.. does the fact that I have the supposed authority, or ability to do so, make me the devil? Who knows.. some people have called me an angel.. others, well..
  11. vey productions, busy at work, and taking subtle clues and criticism from their audience:
  12. Maybe the vegetable of choice should be the noble tomato. Properly cured, "marinaded" a few weeks, and properly "applied".
  13. wages are normally earned.. death is described as the payment. What about animals? Can animals sin? Yet they die daily as well.. Maybe it is a different kind of "death".
  14. Hey you know, she probably could. Wouldn't get marked and avoided, or anything, unless she did it to herself..
  15. I dunno.. if you can't look darkness in the eye, at least without "flipping out".. (sorry, I know I'm dated here..) you can't enjoy the light.. :)
  16. I tend to think that human beings want and desperately seek equilibrium. They want rest, comfort, often the safety that a larger group will provide. Often they will make a few sacrifices (i.e. the foot in the door, the small "favors") to enjoy the comfort. Maybe that is part of the "sell" you're talking about, Catcup. You give it to them, CHEAP. Love them like there is no tomorrow.. then "ask" for another favor, or two.. or three.. not so bad. Not asking you to sacrifice your firstborn or anything.. yet. Then come the demands. Soon you'll do almost anything to get back to that point of rest you once THOUGHT you owned, or enjoyed. I look at it mathmatically. It is called a "sink", where if you put some "thing" someplace, it will seek rest at the point of equilibrium. I think it does model human behavior at least fairly well..
  17. It just might not be hate you're feeling.. perhaps it is sorrow. In that little photo above.. I feel sadness for somebody who is brought so low, as to have to receive sustenance and have to say "Thank you, *MR* Capone.."
  18. Any one person can be quite a different character, depending on the particular observer's perspective.. From the poor starving people in this picture, Capone was a saint of God.. I would venture to say they didn't give a damn if he murdered, plundered, sold dope.. but that's what paid the bill, in this instance. The heroin addict that depended on Capone's operations to get their fix.. I bet it was a mixed bag. I bet they blessed Capone's name, then cursed it almost in the same breath..
  19. I won't throw that label on any one poster. It is only an observation. I choose to speak generally. I've observed this with some online, but I've met in person some with this same kind of philosophy in real life. If the particular person didn't get taken advantage of, or worse, they refuse to get involved. None of their business. At least they think..
  20. Hmmm. Well, "evil" is subjective, for a lot of people. For even others, if it didn't happen to them, it wasn't really "evil" after all.. What vic did to some people here, to them it was as if he really WERE Hitler, or Atilla, or Milosevec.. if a person can put themselves in the shoes of the truly abused, maybe person could understand the feeling that labelling the mogster with these kind of titles really conveys. I prefer the Capone comparison. I wasn't cornered in a motorcoach, but I was sold a bunch of contraband, i.e. stolen property, from a person who did so on a continual basis. They call this racketeering in modern terms. From my perspective, the comparison fits pretty well..

    LEAD

I think LEAD was an acronym for Leadership Education Adventure Direction
  22. I remember those kind of choices: 1. Get involved in a GOOD career, requires cutting into "twig time" a couple times a week.. 2. College education. Same thing.. 3. Spend the majority of your spare time during adolescence and adulthood going to meetings, running classes, door to door and mall witnessing. Do your best to run devils out of people and communities, whether they are really there or not. Like Mrs. Presky, "I'll take the bag". "hey, this is a bag of ****!!" "but it's really GREAT ****, Mrs. Presky.."
