Hmm. If he did hit oil, I wonder if we would have red white and blue upside McDonald's arches at all of the gas stations from sea to shining sea..
-
It was no myth Johnny. I actually remember him saying it, just a little sketchy on all of the details. But I remember the arches.. that may have been it.. he claimed it was "revealed" to him, and der debil punished him for it by turning W's upside down from coast to coast..
-
I vividly remember him describing the arch, how Krok got ahold of it, turned it upside down.. Just another one of the surreal days in der vey.. Hmm. It could be.. in his wildest dreams, he really WANTED W's littering the landscape.. "in the harvest time of life, leave a few W's standing.."
-
I remember this. Or at least I think I do.. In front of a live(?) audience, the vicster claimed that the McDonalds fast foot chain concept was originally his own idea. That if he implemented it, that he'd be rich. Further claimed, the Kroc stole his idea, took the first letter of vic's last name, and turned it upside down and planted it in the ground, thus making the now famous Mc"D's golden arch.. Anybody else remember this? Or were the drugs really that good back in the good old days?

closely followed by the Church of orthopedic support shoes..

and the vicster decreed, "upside down arches shall litter the landscape, from sea to shining sea.."

No I didn't lose a child. But a close set of friends did, who had a child with the very same disease. They were "believers" as well as I. I couldn't say at that they didn't "believe".. they prayed, did mostly the same things I did.. so I've seen life, and death, in the same kind of situation. Am I thankful my child survived? Yeah. But can I boast of the deliverance, and victory? There are those who took the same action as I that cannot.

Hey.. the Cabernet isn't too bad.. :)
-
Sorry Johnny... it just brings up a few memories.. :)

I ask humbly, have you ever been in that position? I have.. I've found myself praying that a damn sickness would not claim my chilld's beauty.. let alone life..

Oh yeah.. I guess that makes it true that every woman in the kindgom belongs to da king (everything else, for that matter..) I guess loy wasn't such a bad guy.. just taking what was "his".. I could see him in front of the judge.. no matter how many tranquilizers and anti-depressants.. "Gee Judge.. da BIBLE said I could.." no wonder they settled..
-
For the record, loy admitted it, rosie admitted under oath that she knew of his "preclivities" of demanding sex from PAID (?) EMPLOYEES. When one husband started making noise.. no turning back for der bot.. it was a mark and avoid sentence.. all this is a matter of record. The judge in the case ruled that the case deserved jury trial.. that there was substantial evidence of not just abuse, but a PATTERN of it.. I bet the settlement cost them dearly..
-
I dunno.. toward the end, it was more like we were paying them for "protection"..

No reward of any kind for sorting through miles and bundles of phone wire at new branch guy's house, for his BUSINESS- saved HIM about three hundred or so bucks though.. no reward, for hauling stereo and video equipment all over God's creation.. no reward, for cleaning, etc. etc. for classes, fellowships.. no reward, or even a thank you, for helping the last three sycophants move trucks of crap, when they moved in and out of the area.. the last meeting I had with leadership, "we KNOW there is something wrong with you, you'd better spill your guts.." I finally figured out what my "problem" was, I was serving a group a lunatics, and a corrupt organization. An organization would have to jump through some pretty high hoops before I'd even remotely consider doing a quarter of what I did.. Don't get me wrong.. everything I did, I thought I was doing for God.. "blessed" at the time. Just rather disappointed that all the labor ended up being absorbed by a stinking corrupt organization.

Just a thought..who wants to walk a straight line anyway, or a line defined by someone else? You can goad an ox into walking a straight line.. you can put blinders on a horse so it is not distracted.. But people? What possible reason would a person want to induce others to walk a straight path, in a guise that it was the "word", unless it was in the one who induces best interests? I never got any REAL reward for making sure the chairs were properly strung, the mall properly "witnessed", not to mention the neighborhood.. no real pay to speak of.. The "ministry" however, did see substantial revenue from those who I brought, those who I carefully "guided" into it's "hallowed" grounds.. I feel like I was no better than an ox, or horse. Sounds like fun. Put the yoke back on my neck, bit back in my mouth.. I don't mind the blinders..

Reproof with humor: bring a bag of old tomatoes to the next SNS

Then again.. if they smell like polecat, they may be immune to the smell. Kinda like garlic, eveybody has to share some.. -
That's the whole problem with these cheap tests.. it is soooo easy to prove a correlation between two variables, but to prove CAUSATION.. they'd have to supply clean, untainted weed, to separated age groups.. track the people through life, ensure that they are huffing the prescribed amount of THC.. I don't think a legitimate study could even come close to jumping the legal hurdles, let alone the liability they'd assume.. I really think it is the other way around.. the pressure of society and effects of mental illness very well might drive a person to heavy marijuana usage. I have met a few individuals who simply could not handle day to day life without it. Honestly, I think they were actually safer to society when they were high.

All that "believing", and then they blame the devil for giving them a hernia..
-
Off topic? I thought it was on, at least in my strange, out of control way of thinking.. Naw.. this was the picture I had in my mind: "Believer": "Ummph, I'm believing.. (takes a deep breath) I'm believing.. takes another deep breath.. I'm belieeeeving (lungs now well over full mark, believer straining for all it's worth)..." then I found that pic.. I thought oh my: it looked like some "believers" I knew.. I honestly think we were taught not believe, but to be gas bags.. At my most swelled, puffed up moments, I couldn't bring to pass the righteousness of God, or even get the first parking spot in front of Kmart, for that matter..

maybe that's the figure where the last is put first, or is it the first last. Seems it was always about "da ministry", it's elegance, prestige, resources, money..
-
Congratulations! Good to hear the good news..

Good description of reality. The sycophants always seemed to know who had money, before they even arrived in the area.. I remember one of them being "helped" out of trouble by someone with money and influence.. another one of those surrealistic moments, the sycophant talking to the "money man" in a closed room, loud enough to be heard on the other half of the house. Asked the money guy "Can't we just bribe the judge??" SOB probably thought I was a bump on a log somewhere, and couldn't put two and two together..

Maybe looks more like Jabba..

I dunno.. might hurt the door. Better have nuts, a LOT of nuts..
