Maybe the local DA doesn't have the heart, or time and resources to prosecute a guy for imitating Napoleon.. that's the other thing. Even when loy's "preclivities" were revealed.. why no grand jury investigation, no criminal prosecution? He DID perform criminal acts. Because he's small potatos. Even in a county as small as Augalize. They don't have the time, the staff, the money, the stamina, to pursue every teeny weenie moglet in their jurisdiction, who treats the employees as a personal harem.. sorry, it's just not a perfect world. Only real "trial" these jackasses will ever get will be public castigation on the internet.. it may be second best, but better than nothing I guess..

Some people among us have such a small amount of self respect, that they need to portray themselves as something greater than what they really are..
-
Personally, the money trail (or lack therof) is logical enough reason for me. He can't exactly get rich on pfal.. all he can do is get a FEW adoring, fawning fans.. tell him how great his "work" is, how much it sounds like vics old class.. maybe that's all he wants.

I dunno. Probably same reason that not everybody who exceeds seventy five miles per hour on the highway gets a ticket. Technically, they are liable to "prosecution" if caught. The first question in the good old usa, unless somebody has enough money to burn, and a big enough ax to grind, is, "how much money does the guy have?" "Little itty bitty teenie weenie" was more than just a jab at the guy- I don't think he or his organization have the resources to make such a claim worth pursuing. He represents rather small potatos. Maybe.. maybe secretly those who run der vey actually LIKE him. He WAS instrumental in getting loy over the deep end.. or maybe he "has" something on them, and they'd rather let him milk a little out of ole vic's work, rather than open his mouth.. maybe they have some kind of agreement.. who knows..
-
Actually, if I remeber correctly, geer incorporated der vey of Great Britain, and the organization over the pond had publishing rights to vic's "works". Not geer, in the united states in maine somewhere. I also seem to remember that whatever incorporation he was head of was dissolved.. far as I know, at the present moment, he doesn't have rights to anything..

I think it is still piracy. It's just, he's stolen what nobody else in their right mind would even want.. Actually, it is still piracy, because Bullinger Trust, whoever holds the papers on Kenyon, Stiles, Leonard, etc. etc. could very well bring suit if they wished. But it would be like squeezing blood out of a piece of granite. About all they could do is put him out of business. I think such a case would be actionable, but geer is so itty bitty tiny that about all they'd get out of him probably wouldn't cover the lawyers' lunch.. I don't think anything will come of it, unless he turns whatever he named the group into a multi-million dollar corporation. Likelihood? I don't think he has the gumption to do it..

I think that some people can't get it.. that a person with a really really flawed character can do something good, for one reason or another. I would say that USUALLY the motive for doing so is self-serving. Would a "normal", logical, reasonable person assert that Capone wasn't such a bad guy, that it wasn't really so bad when he "offed" a few people, sold heroin and other contraband, that it really wasn't so bad.. after all, a few thousand unemployed folks got a free cup of coffee and donut? "You're a SAINT, *mr* Capone.." In a way, I feel like my time in der vey.. I had merely sold my soul for a stinking cup of coffee and a donut. I hate donuts.. The price? Well.. they had whole PROGRAMS designed to teach the inductee how to properly sing "doc" vic's praises, and later, the loyster's. Why is it.. the most staunch supporters of the vicster I've met, when I challenge them with, "WHAT results? Just name me one.." and I'm met with silence.. or, "I had a good time." "the fellowship was really fun" pretty vague.. I can make the same claim for a civic organization I'm involved with.. dues are twenty dollars a YEAR.. and even that is not enforced..

just a point of "accuracy" here.. :) I think camels were an unclean animal, as far as their diet was concerned..
-
Never heard of a pfal test.. what exactly are you looking for? Oh.. welcome to the Cafe. :)

OK John J. You can have your thread back now. It is only slightly (mis)used. Maybe Paw can put it up for sale in the "used threads" section..

hmmm. Last siting.. he is gallantly leading his troops into battle.. May God have mercy on the French..

probably just as well, ya know what they say about people who have whole conversations with Squirrels anyway.. I would agree that villifying other posters who have honest, sincere doubts is wrong. Maybe they just don't know enough.. but if they've heard the same story, over and over.. same questions.. "why'd ya go back.." "could he have been sincere while doing the most awful.." "I had good times. .how can that nullify the GOOD he did.." like another poster said, it's like somebody hit the reset button.. and everything is starting back at square one. I think some have hung the "trust no one" sign on the wrong people..
-
Not scholarly? Naw.. Maybe he's presently laboring feverishly over ancient wierwillian manuscripts, as we speak. Took all the other manuscripts to the town Gehenna, where the fire never ceases..

I think this signature is typical of some here who won't accept what some others have to say: Very typical of the cultish phenomena. It won't "work" unless you can break down trust between others, citing some insane adherence to a doctrine and precision that even God never thought of. Don't trust anyone.. anything.. only gawd himself, or his representative can be trusted, but trust of the central authority is exempt from examination, and absolute. If one argues against the use of the word "cultish", just substitue "Machiavellian" if it makes you feel better. Basically the same thing.. You don't want happy peasants, you want busy ones. Too busy to care, too troubled to trust each other, too fearful to get involved..

"Behold, I come. Naked. Standing at the door. I will richly "reward" the faithful.. rendering "due benevolence" upon hundreds, if not thousands, and recompensing to each man (God forbid, let it not be.. lest they think me "funny") his due reward, or hers, or the lack therof, lest my fifty some year old "manhood" be held in ill regard."...

so afraid.. that people cross their t's, and dot their I's correctly.. god forbid that the abuser and rapist not get a "fair" trial.. honestly, I'm in favor of "fairness" as the next guy.. but to find "the man of gawd for our day, time and hour" standing naked at the door.. It's like the Clinton tactic.. give them enough evidence, that they will choke themselves in legal formalities, that they can never catch up with a person.. after all, "nobody" can be THAT evil, that arrogant.. or can they?
-
yeah.. the vicster came in riding on the sholders of giants.. I thought that was the pharisee mindset. So afraid.. that they'd break the sabbath.. that they'd accidentally swallow a mite.. however, they missed the camel..
-
hmm. Maybe.. maybe, just MAYBE, he ended up on the menu like the guy in Fried Green Tomatos. That'd bring a real new meaning of the meat of da word..
-
Hey, you in the back row.. don't complain about the talent here.. leave an unattended squirrel in charge, what can you expect?
-
hmmm. Well.. how about.. maybe he's on the Pakistan Afghanistan border, patiently waiting for western civilization to crumble.. hmmm. Well, maybe.. just maybe he's in eastern Europe, busy trying to build a wall.. go back to the eighties, sitting around a campfire in northern Ohio, and the victors still could lash out a tune.. *ahem*, *cough, cough..* *I'm building a wall* *across the divide..* *I'll charge first class toll...* *for a second-rate ride, do do do do..*
-
Now I'm not speaking disparagingly of the great Country of France.. but maybe somebody in the u.s. got smart enough to just scrape enough to buy the would-be mogster a ticket.. one way. sheesh.. you're so "lucky" Bumpy..
-
So where's chris gear.. maybe he's just setting back, eating pickled pig's feet, drinking schnaps, and planning the overthrow of the world..
-
Oh yeah.. that's a REAL sticky problem for a writer.. You have to give credit to the source you quote, and on top of that, you have to give credit to source of the source you quote from.. if there indeed is one. While some may lift pfal with impunity, I would suppose that the owners of the original material could pursue some kind of legal remedy from these infringers.. I could see them in front of a judge.. "it wasn't MINE... I was just holding it, for a friend.."
-
I think it is the logic of a defense attorney. I know there are some good in the legal industry.. but if I had to make a living getting REAL criminals off the hook, and was successful at it, I don't think I could live with myself..

Why is it that this "miraculous" existence seems only to work for the top dog in the cult, or the very few on top? They make it sound like promises of "liberty".. the "good life", little or no effort required. Then comes the yoke. "if you'd just GIVE enough. Can't outgive God.."
