Actually I see the opposite. On Pentecost, when it "hit", I don't read anything about the twelve going off somewhere, to get a couple of hours of practice before putting on the big show. I would suggest that the practice sessions were introduced simply because what people thought were manifestations did not produce the "biblical" results they should have. gotta be da people..

Makes me wonder how good that little deposition looks on a resume.. he's probably "lucky" to have the employment he has. "lobotomy" is a pretty apt choice of words.. describes several old leaders that I knew who the "doctor" trained.. a good part of psychological makeup missing.. whether it was a conscience, or proper self restraints.. almost like it just got cut out, in the guise of "not being under the law"..

If it ever indeed WAS repeated, would it not have essentially the same results? Somehow.. the last time I saw "new people" in twig.. they didn't exactly fall down and exclaim "wowser.. and sadly, a job for a few educated.. Nothing wrong with majoring in history.. but, unless you add a degree in education or something.. not a whole lot to do with it, as far as employment is concerned. A person has to find something to do I guess. May as well prance about the world with a chisel and hammer, pulling out a few bricks.. But the professor guy.. he has a couple of legitimate degrees. Maybe like slick vic, he thought he found some hidden "truth" that was controversial enough to project him to the status of history mogdom.. He did manage to gather somewhat of a following. I wonder if his followers fawn about him, being so "thankful" for da *man* to whom was revealed historical truth, like it hasn't been known since.. well, the 1930's..

I dunno.. sometimes I can see the individual past the politics, the poor self esteem.. the faults.. sometimes at least I think I can make a difference, and a lot of the time, it doesn't do a damn bit of good.. :) who knows.. I'd rather have some kind of party.. maybe someday I'll get my.. sheesh.. what is it.. can't think of the synonym.. what is it.. "political expectation.." AMBITION.. that's it.. :) It may be a small one.. but I guess it still is ambition..

You know.. that's a good point. Seems some people have holes in them of sorts.. lack whatever "it" is to restrain the wrong kind of passions.. despite upbringing.. society.. maybe they are missing one of themselves.. or can't find it. I think that may be one reason why a lot of them do this, over and over again. Nothing there to "fix" to begin with.. At least two of my old limb coordinators.. that was the impression I had.. something just wasn't there. One was married, chased skirts openly. The other.. he had whatever part it was that knew how to conceal what he was really doing..

Sounds like it was some kind of race.. he (or she) who finished first.. won.. well, something.. they shoulda used the stop watch on some of the VERY long drab meetings, when the "leader" "went over" the interpretation of what loyster harped on for two hours..

true. So.. I take what I can get .. or give.. I guess. some people.. all I can do is make them laugh.. so what. :) can't demand of anybody that which they do not want to give.. I've told some people.. you don't owe me a damn thing..

I've only been able to have this kind of intimacy with perhaps two people in my lifetime.. and from what I've seen, I'm "lucky" to have had that much. sex doesn't even come close.. It's like.. irrelevant.. Usually.. my impression.. people think "what the hell do you want.." communion. I have a few more theories.. Some people think we were originally one entity.. somehow now we're fragmented.. only thing I'll say.. any soul I have met has brought just a little more wholeness to my life..

sometimes.. I've learned to be happy with what I can get.. Personally.. I'm looking for the level of intimacy that most people are not willing to go to.. no, I don't want to sleep with them.. or their neighbors, or cousins.. sometimes.. all I can do is get a laugh.. :)

the only waste or loss I have ever seen.. is when someone willingly closes the door.. call it a weakness or whatever.. I personally, can't close it.. on practically anybody. I'm what I am.. but I usually end up telling myself it's not about me anyway..
