Yeah.. that's crazy.. I've seen some things "happen".. but my experience.. if there isn't some kind of "grace" or something.. it just does not happen. And you can't put it on a schedule.. I don't think there's a single "law" or anything to rely on to make it happen either. I think we were sold a bill of goods..

I "believed" for it to rain once, in a very specific way.. this one character I worked with at the time was ranting on and on how's there's no God and all.. I say "no God, eh? how about if it rains as far as the eye can see, except for this little block around us.. and it actually happened.. a person could see the downpour of water the next block over.. and it was perfectly dry where we were at. The character quit mumbling about there not being a God, and started babbling something about witchcraft.. no, I did not invite him to twig. Just seemed inappropriate at the time to hang some kind of advertisement on it..

Now the greasespot "club".. the Greasespot justification for existence..is supposed to be to tell the other side of the story, the abuse, the insanity, the nuttiness.. That's the purpose, isn't it? we've already had the "initiation".. in the old ministry.. everybody was betrayed, in my opinion.. Greasespot is not too bad of a "club".. I jointed a squirrel haters club once. No kidding.. they had no sense of humor..

Part of it is just human nature.. in my opinion.. I think everybody wants to belong somewhere.. with the old organization.. I think we just found the wrong club. A pretty much useless, self-serving lot.. more so than the rest.. I belong to likely about half a dozen "clubs". Now at one point or another, they all could be characterized as being self-serving. The ham club performs public service. Of course it is altruistic and all, but if it does not receive some kind of response, or recognition.. however small, it would feel "slighted".. why? I think because those who enjoy the hobby would like people to know what the hobby is about, its usefulness, and possibly perpetuate the hobby itself. Individuals contribute to hopefully promote a greater good.. then there's the math "club". It is a smaller subset of the higher education club. Same reasoning.. it might be a living, but it must justify itself..is it self-serving? Yes, to some extent.. and there is an "initiation" of sorts. Same for the ham club.. whereas these two mentioned "clubs" perform a useful function in society, I don't see where twi does, or ever did. Some offshoots do a little better..

I was thinking something like that.. look what the "cult" life turned a college educated jock into in the old *ministry*.. a nutcase with delusions of grandeur.. and when defrocked, likely a diet of sedatives and anti-depressants that would stop a bull elephant.. that's partly what one of my questions referred to.. what are you going to do when it doesn't really "work"..

Yeah.. well, what good is power if one uses it.. this is about the third time I've been in a position to either ruin somebody, or start some kind of cult.. who says power corrupts.. heh. The first time.. I was hitch-hiking from Athens to Bluefield West Virginia. Circa 1974. About twelve miles or so, if I remember correctly.. A church bus passed me as I began my journey, and ignored my request for a ride.. right after the church bus passed, I got a ride.. five blocks up, the bus stopped for gas. We passed the bus, the driver unaware of my passage.. the car let me off a half mile down the road. So the bus passed again, twice ignoring my hand signal for a ride.. right after I got yet another ride. This one went about a mile and a half. The church bus had stopped to drop off something or another at a church.. and was unaware of my passage yet again. this happened two more times.. and the fifth time.. the guy stopped the van.. with ashen face.. and asked me if I was an angel, or Jesus.. I could have told him ANYTHING.. and he would have believed it.. "naw.. I'm just as "ordinary" as anybody else.."

Sell them.. they used to give them away. ha.. they probably drudged up an old box of them out of the depths of the osc, branded them "new prevailing present truth stickers" and sold them for five bucks each.. the "followers" probably have to send a copy of their vehicle registration, to prove said vehicle is not a thirty year old "wowmobile" before consideration that twi even WANTS to sell them the bumper sticker.. but I think they probably already kicked out anybody who owned an old rust bucket to begin with.. bad advertising ya know..

I have run into maybe one person still in in the last five years. And the person was NOT witnessing. Person was at coffee shop. Had a group of a few "professional" types the person made a connection with in the community. This person saw me, and I could see the panic, and lips move.. "gawd, please don't let him recognize me.." The eyes.. like a deer caught in the headlights.. then person turned chair so as not to be in my view.. absolutely pathetic. Where are you "prevailing" now, hmmm? unbelievable.. I just pretended I didn't see the person.. but the look of fear.. so afraid I'd "out" them as to what kind of organization they "belong" to.. and really, with the line of work, it would be death, professionally. I think the person is still "in"..

"at ease".. friend.. :) Really though.. friggin morons.. what were they looking for.. the people here are pure gold.. I guess it shows their real priorities..
-
hmm.. but what are they supposed to do with the "leftovers".. you know.. the less than *special* people to come on board? hmm..
-
but.. but.. these aren't ordinary buggy whips. They are the latest edition, prevailing, more than abundant life whips..
-
Ah.. so there is another "dated" one here.. Its official name was The Flying Fickled Finger of Fate, sometimes referred to as the Rigid Digit. The award might be more suitable to the bot or various "leaders".. some even out of da ministry now..
-
Possibly they give one of these, properly mounted.. The rest of the "boobie prizes" I ggogled would likely be removed by a moderator.. It was a difficult task, but I sorted through all of them to find one suitable for the audience here. Don't thank me all at once..

This is probably what they hand out now..

I supppose I should look where I'm posting..

Some things aren't worth proving.. especially things proven a thousand times over.. no matter what "new angle" one might come up with, it is still impossible to trisect an arbitrary angle using only a compass and straight-edge..

The thing I don't understand is the dodging and secrecy.. I mean, isn't it just a tad bit EARLY in the life cycle of an organization for that? I thought that came after they had more than just a few volunteers, and lotsa money flowing in the coffers.. they"ve skipped all the preliminary steps (along with the loot) and gone directly to da way as it is today.. gone from zero to abundantly over-arrogant in less than a year.. maybe it was just founded in bitterness and arrogance.. to begin with.

I'd just be happy to know the kid is still in one piece..

No.. I don't think my cable company has it..

actually, alternative energy sources might be more expensive to set in place.. but once its there, like the hydro power dams, they generally just sit quietly and produce for decades.. the same can be said for well made solar cells. but it is a proven fact that capitalism will seek the lowest cost of energy, at practically any environmental cost. They get their energy at approximately half price in China, compared to u.s. costs.. if they could get away with running old fashioned coal burners in the u.s. they'd do it in a heartbeat. In my opinion anyway.. really.. roll back emission standards and laws.. and penalties.. we'd have a coal burner in every neighborhood.. Lest you cry "weasel words" look at what they burn where they can.. it's "obvious"..

Of course they might have to take their own water along. Or they could forego the water, and minimize the investment,if they agree with the side of the debate that there might be some in the poles.. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/090615-mm-moon-water.html Then they could go with the sure bet, Mars. There IS water there.. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/080620-phoenix-ice-update.html Don't know how long it will take them to adapt to the thin air, however.. hold your breath fellas..

We'll see I guess.. I think they have a current energy glut. I haven't even brought India into this discussion.. they are not far behind China as far as pollution and all. Of course India has always been fairly nasty.. open burning of "biomass" to cook and heat with.. But if the Chinese really are waking up on these issues.. where will the corporations go next for cheap labor and cheap energy? Lessee.. how about Somalia.. oops.. already been there.. maybe Mexico.. oh, already there.. polluting like there's no tomorrow.. maybe Canada? Naw.. too many darned environmental laws and such.. I know. We can pack them up, and send them to the moon.. that's pretty much "undeveloped"..

There was at least one leadership type held under house arrest until they could properly coordinate his departure..

I wonder what the ratio of coal fired chinese power plants to wally marts is..
