  1. how does one see it.. I don't know. I had something like that happen kinda by "accident".. but it really wasn't an accident. I was just ignorant enough to ask a question.. the only thing I can think or say.. *we* (or *I*) only give *them* (he, she, it.. whatever..) only at best the significance that I assign to *myself*.. I dunno.. does this make any sense, or do I need another glass of cabernet..
  2. I thought of half a dozen sarcastic answers to this.. I'll spare you that.. what I think it comes down to.. one has to see something bigger than *them* or *him* or even oneself..
  3. No kidding.. Interesting point about their possibilities of employment, after stffi.. preying on fear, what would the KIDS do.. where would they go.. "where else can you get these kind of RESOURCES.." You guys ARE parents, right? (not talking to you Pond :) ) I mean.. you have a bible or something, don't you? Concordance? You want your kids to believe that the dead aren't alive, or the Trinity.. or want them to know about the supposed "administrations".. etc. etc. etc.. I presume you have at least a bible and a brain.. why do you need a stinking corrupt organization to educate your kids??? "oh, they provide a backbone, an organized connection with da rest of the known world that believes like us.." You do have a phone, do you not? What about email? It just seems their rotten services are kinda overpriced.. ten percent or more of your income for what, to provide some kind of social structure?
  4. so.. besides all this minutiae.. what does the way, as an organization actually DO?
  5. There were no special characters in the "original".. they were either cursive or manuscript. there was no difference between "God" or "god".. Somehow, I thought differentiation with capital letters were an invention of theology.. well, according to the class and all..
  6. Which god? There's more than one ya know..
  7. I'd still like to know. What is it exactly that the way, as an organization, DOES? Seems pretty simple and all.. "well.. we.. ahem. well.. we.. ahem. well...." I honestly think that is the best response I should expect..
  8. EXACTLY what I thought.. they are doing NOTHING. Or worse.
  9. I would suggest that you would not recognize one if you saw one..
  10. Still didn't answer my question. What exactly are they DOING? Not talking, not "researching".. not imagining.. what are they DOING? You really don't know, do you..
  11. soo.. did he actually DO it? Or did homosexuality remain in the inner sanctum of da way, where all he could do is cry and complain about it?
  12. That's what I've wondered. For a while. What is it exactly that *they* are doing? *Doing* being the key phrase in the question. Have they *finally* (questionably) gotten up, and gotten their thumbs out of their.. asses? So what are they actually DOING?

    Happy Birthday, Ex 10

Hope it was a day of gladness, good health.. hope you have many more..
  14. I think they are.. they just don't know it, yet.. I'd substitute.. "these guys.. are OPPORTUNISTS.." intelligent, yes. I love human logic.. but it only goes so far, even for me..
  15. If you love your kids.. that's just starters.. ripping the damn sticker off your car, that is.. and you'd BETTER sound damned convincing.. to the kids, that is.. I wouldn't be emotional about it.. I'd be very, very logical.. it might be too late for some.. but if you don't at least try.. well.. its your life.. no *big deal*, eh?
  16. The "scariest" part of this, at least to me.. parents actually trust their own offspring with these jokers.. solely on the basis that they don't believe in a Trinity.. no kidding.. forget character, years of insane doctrine and behavior.. "well, they won't *contaminate* my kid with more than *one god*.." for lack of better words.. maybe the *objectors* of the phrase can give me a better description.. how much more "cult brained" can someone be..
  17. That's about it.. It almost sounds like a disease, or a diseased mind.. what then might be the cure? I dunno.. maybe there is one place in the human psyche they either cannot, or are merely too terrified to look.. the prospect that they might actually be WRONG.
  18. the board apparently documented his "behavior" in the way, and BEYOND.. but they aren't exactly publishing what happened in their little meeting. Yep.. now they hold the heartstrings of some, with regard to the CHILDREN. Where will they go.. what will they do.. reminds me of something.. the ironic part of this, they are actually paying to have the fella to play the flute, and call the kids off somewhere..
  19. What are the parents afraid of? Afraid their kid will hear a sermon on the Trinity or something? naw.. we don't want them to become "possessed" out there in the world.. we want them to learn how to get possessed in the right way,and enjoy the "fellowship" among the ranks of false prophets..
  20. Makes sense. But still.. as a PARENT.. knowing: 1. The organization was fronted for decades, largely by a fella who by his own self-admission participated in seventeen extr-marital affairs in his way days, no idea how many (if any) after he left.. or rather, was fired.. 2. a board used false (personal) prophecies to war amongst themselves.. and to this day, STILL is not accountable to their followers.. 3. after DECADES of knowing the "deep character faults" of the guy who fronted the organization, finally, only when he proved himself to be an arrogant, ineffective and "unprofitable" buffoon, did they choose to cut ties.. 4. Has a president, who previously had to do "extensive" research, to figure out adultery was biblically "wrong".. maybe that's why he thinks he has some kind of *ministry* or something.. 5. Not to mention the momentus fiasco, and its resulting effects on the organization.. apparently ending(?) with throwing Gr*eser and Lynn off the "lifeboat".. they probably think lynns reply to all this to be claiming a "victim" mentality.. as a PARENT, I would rather see my kid involved in the Salvation Army, or the United Way, in the local volunteer recycling group, or whatever.. anything but this kind of *organization*, with its track record of DECADES of nonsense.. even a (gawd forbid) CHURCH..
  21. Welcome, Heckler. I wouldn't call it a "dangerous" place. I think its more like, uncontrolled, by religious sentiments. People are generally friendly I think, but most don't seem to be moved by old (or newer) way catch-phrases.. a lot of us don't owe some organization fifteen percent of our incomes to harvest God's spit in our direction.. or owe our very lives to some organization..
  22. Interesting point. Though knowing what we know about the inner workings of the group, how many would want their kids to go to the stiffi church?
  23. The lords of time destroyed them all, utterly.. except for one.. energy weapons were useless. the great vampires transmuted the energy to their advantage. so Rassilon ordered the production of bow ships. This if fiction, in it's finest.. ships fitted to project rods or shafts of steel.. to destroy the hearts of the great vampires.. only in t his manner, could they be defeated.. this was the fictional battle.. so bloody, and so long, that the time lords abandoned battle forever..kinda like the war against terrorism.. I dunno..
