The Way International Argues: Actual Words of the Bible are Not Doctrine
Ham replied to James Trimm's topic in About The Way
Just wonder.. does herr (da way) bookstore even SELL this item any longer? If not, any plans to sell it in the near (or distant) future? -
isn't the contrast intriguing.. David put GOLD into the temple treasury.. vic built his with brass..
-
I don't think david was so great either..

M&A and breaking up marriages: Deliberate infliction of emotional distress?
Ham replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
do they have any idea of what they did to the families involved.. at this point.. I let go of it.. they (da way(?)).. can have it.. blood and all.. I did the best I could in the circumstances.. even if I was an ignoramus.. -

as "screwed up(?)" as we were.. maybe I shouldn't say.. I'd need some kind of agreement in the next statement.. -

did they break up my marriage? Yes. Well.. I suppose I should be honest.. I was too trusting.. technically, I look at the whole scenario in hindsight.. and it was 100 percent my fault.. I didn't know it at the time.. What do we do now.. I dunno.. :) It just seems to me.. a gawd-damed religion would have a few answers? sowie.. I find myself using these kind of vulagarieties lately.. -

I dunno.. did they break up your marriage? I'm not asking in an accusative manner friend.. What they did for me.. the then nazi whore corps.. she would work over my ex.. and when I was around, they treated us like gold.. why was this.. we were the best of friends.. that is, the ex and I.. I was an at least half-hippie.. she was a redneck.. but we weere friends.. I think the bible has something to say about separator of friends.. I wish I could wash the blood from their doorstep.. -

Heh.. and they've driven off most of the people who had some reasonable amount of intelligence.. they don't get it.. every time they sick the lawyers on some little group with the word "way" in their name.. its just one more self inflicted wound.. I think they have as much common sense as a raccoon still stuck in a trap, after chewing three legs off.. -
thanks friend. Yes, it was generic..
-
spiritually (and otherwise) a very very good point.. :)
-
heh.. as long as they have good dope, who cares..
-
so what do we do now.. what I would prefer.. maybe I shouldn't say.. we sit around the campfire, and smoke something mildly hallucinogenic.. sowy.. sometimes I'm "gone"..
-
I dunno.. if anybody thinks this is "over".. I think you are mistaken.. parts of yourself are going to challenge you, one time after another..
-
some just ran off and started offshoots.. somebody said to me.. I won't say who. :) the only thing I will say.. I wanted to sell old pfal junk on ebay.. but the said person circumvented.. "don't let a TREASURE to fall into the wrong hands.." and a previous comment.. "They (the offshoot) needs somebody like you.." no kidding.. no thanks. If it came down to that, or having to live in the woods somewhere (I did that once ) I'd live in the woods.. I'm still trying to find out what family here, that I belong to.. well.. I'm patient. Let me know now, or the next lifetime.. be warned.. *part* of me.. will remember some of this the next time around..
-
maybe I should rephrase that.. having witnessed or fallen victim to that kind of deceitfulness.. I would not practice the same.. even to who might be described as my worst enemy..
-
perhaps. then there are those of us.. who would rather go live in a tent in the woods somewhere.. than start a fanatical hitlerian cult of sorts.. In a general sense.. I would acknowledge that it is POSSIBLE for the mind to be that deceitful. History answers that question..

I mean.. considering in da way world.. how hard would it be to marshal a majority of likely 80 percent or even more against 20? then came the next minority.. the "homos".. the "unproductive".. then what was it next.. I think I figured that out.. the "unproductive" were those who could not adequately maintain a family, and eliminate loy's sea of red ink with 15, 20, 25 percent (or more) of their incomes, at the same time.. and bring a dozen or so new blood into his classes each year, all with a smile on one's face..
-
I should have written a journal.. even the rhetoric coming off the main stage seemed markedly similar to that of the current administration at the time, especially if it was "conservative".. loy even found a couple of examples where he understood Clinton.. I don't think this is too far off the subject. I think the organization simply mimicked the politics of the time.. the branding of smoking and smokers as selfish, devilish, resource wasting and such..
-
I think "da way" was simply a mirror of the larger scale of insanity.. hardly basing decisions on some kind of biblical standard.. they seemed to follow suit with what was happening in industry in general.. the cost cutting measures.. stealing (well, in a practical sense) people's retirement and livelihood.. they seemed to break the unions earlier however.. doop, heefner.. taking over the California franchise.. etc. etc..
-
I dunno.. who actually benefits from all of these mandates and regulations? We da people? Maybe slightly.. its the lawyers.. the lawmakers.. they must justify their existence to those who elected them, no? Who makes the *big* money here? one fact to consider: what is the percentage of smokers to population in the u.s.? Its twenty percent. Approximately. It does not surprise me that politicians would want to endear themselves to 80 percent of the population.. just a few thoughts. I am a non smoker.. I detest breathing second hand smoke.. but I really detest being "played" by a two-bit politician in this regard even more..
-
pretty broad generalization there, wouldn't you say?

You would think so, wouldn't you.. I think it is a case of an organization that grew too big for its "britches".. once they had astronomical growth in the early and late seventies.. money for nuttin.. chicks for free and all.. they got bold enough to demand EVERYTHING. ministry over spouse, "disobedient" children and even god almighty.. now they are a pathetic lot.. the only "entertainment" they seem to have is to have the lawyers pick off groups smaller than themselves.. as if they think the name of "da way* is somehow corrupted if another group unknowingly adopts it.. so.... pathetic. a bunch of has beens with the determination of hitler.. sitting back.. reviewing reports from lawyers and such, choking down a few more pickled pigs feet and schnapps.. reminiscing the "good old days" of the fuhrer, ahem.. the mogdagreat.. sitting on a small hill of pilfered silver and gold.. so pathetic.. -
Even John Cleese got in the act in city of death.. Honor Blackman, terror of the Vervoids..

I think Jeremiah was a wonderful philosopher, when he wasn't caught up in religious bigotry.. same for those who came after him..
