so what do we do now.. what I would prefer.. maybe I shouldn't say.. we sit around the campfire, and smoke something mildly hallucinogenic.. sowy.. sometimes I'm "gone"..
-
I dunno.. if anybody thinks this is "over".. I think you are mistaken.. parts of yourself are going to challenge you, one time after another..
-
some just ran off and started offshoots.. somebody said to me.. I won't say who. :) the only thing I will say.. I wanted to sell old pfal junk on ebay.. but the said person circumvented.. "don't let a TREASURE to fall into the wrong hands.." and a previous comment.. "They (the offshoot) needs somebody like you.." no kidding.. no thanks. If it came down to that, or having to live in the woods somewhere (I did that once ) I'd live in the woods.. I'm still trying to find out what family here, that I belong to.. well.. I'm patient. Let me know now, or the next lifetime.. be warned.. *part* of me.. will remember some of this the next time around..
-
maybe I should rephrase that.. having witnessed or fallen victim to that kind of deceitfulness.. I would not practice the same.. even to who might be described as my worst enemy..
-
perhaps. then there are those of us.. who would rather go live in a tent in the woods somewhere.. than start a fanatical hitlerian cult of sorts.. In a general sense.. I would acknowledge that it is POSSIBLE for the mind to be that deceitful. History answers that question..
-
I mean.. considering in da way world.. how hard would it be to marshal a majority of likely 80 percent or even more against 20? then came the next minority.. the "homos".. the "unproductive".. then what was it next.. I think I figured that out.. the "unproductive" were those who could not adequately maintain a family, and eliminate loy's sea of red ink with 15, 20, 25 percent (or more) of their incomes, at the same time.. and bring a dozen or so new blood into his classes each year, all with a smile on one's face..
-
I should have written a journal.. even the rhetoric coming off the main stage seemed markedly similar to that of the current administration at the time, especially if it was "conservative".. loy even found a couple of examples where he understood Clinton.. I don't think this is too far off the subject. I think the organization simply mimicked the politics of the time.. the branding of smoking and smokers as selfish, devilish, resource wasting and such..
-
I think "da way" was simply a mirror of the larger scale of insanity.. hardly basing decisions on some kind of biblical standard.. they seemed to follow suit with what was happening in industry in general.. the cost cutting measures.. stealing (well, in a practical sense) people's retirement and livelihood.. they seemed to break the unions earlier however.. doop, heefner.. taking over the California franchise.. etc. etc..
-
I dunno.. who actually benefits from all of these mandates and regulations? We da people? Maybe slightly.. its the lawyers.. the lawmakers.. they must justify their existence to those who elected them, no? Who makes the *big* money here? one fact to consider: what is the percentage of smokers to population in the u.s.? Its twenty percent. Approximately. It does not surprise me that politicians would want to endear themselves to 80 percent of the population.. just a few thoughts. I am a non smoker.. I detest breathing second hand smoke.. but I really detest being "played" by a two-bit politician in this regard even more..

pretty broad generalization there, wouldn't you say?

M&A and breaking up marriages: Deliberate infliction of emotional distress?
Ham replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
You would think so, wouldn't you.. I think it is a case of an organization that grew too big for its "britches".. once they had astronomical growth in the early and late seventies.. money for nuttin.. chicks for free and all.. they got bold enough to demand EVERYTHING. ministry over spouse, "disobedient" children and even god almighty.. now they are a pathetic lot.. the only "entertainment" they seem to have is to have the lawyers pick off groups smaller than themselves.. as if they think the name of "da way* is somehow corrupted if another group unknowingly adopts it.. so.... pathetic. a bunch of has beens with the determination of hitler.. sitting back.. reviewing reports from lawyers and such, choking down a few more pickled pigs feet and schnapps.. reminiscing the "good old days" of the fuhrer, ahem.. the mogdagreat.. sitting on a small hill of pilfered silver and gold.. so pathetic.. -
Even John Cleese got in the act in city of death.. Honor Blackman, terror of the Vervoids..
-
I think Jeremiah was a wonderful philosopher, when he wasn't caught up in religious bigotry.. same for those who came after him..
-
Hmm. How about a similar question.. where did *you* come from? Well.. "I was created.." to which I ask.. where is freedom of will in this.. I mean.. did you actually want or agree to this, to begin with? then some might cite Jeremiah's counter to this question.. I wouldn't say the answer is exactly "satisfying".. that always seems to be the problem with living clay.. the *secret* (if there really is one) I think.. innately, we know who we are, where we came from.. just not to let it drive us nuts..

what if you found about 99.9 percent of yourself burned off in about a half a second.. there are two things (or three) that generally follow something like that.. 1. You don't care.. but you do. Does this make sense? You want to know what the crap just happened to you, but the result of inquiry has no relevance. 2. Since it doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of difference to whatever of *you* that is left.. one may shamelessly seek explanations that may make sense from others, whether they think you are a "fruitcake" or not.. 3.. I dunno. It involves a strange mix of 1 and 2.. so the best explanation I got from a dear friend.. "don't look into the light.. that's what we were taught.. you'll get BURNED.." I already figured that out.. heh. but I'd do it all over again.. I'd go back there again.. but the first encounter was by pure chance.. I hope I didn't ruin your thread here, friend.. :)

just an observation. (it is not in the spirit of meanness or anything like that) the trinitarians may have the same description for your god.. at least some of what you stated of theirs.. as far as pestilence, earthquakes, etc.. is it just possible that the same god who brings love, joy.. etc.. also is required to bring their contrasts? it WOULD explain a few things.. not that I entirely am happy with the conclusion one might arrive at.. or the system of things itself..

M&A and breaking up marriages: Deliberate infliction of emotional distress?

Or maybe its the simpler case of having one spouse in the pocket is better than having two in the bush.. -
What if Harvey Platig became the next President of the TWI
Ham replied to fortunateone's topic in About The Way
No, not hallucinating. Technically, I'd call it a "flashback".. -
well, welcome to the cafe Mrt. actually, I think "all that" started long before Nicea. Usually, all the other church leaders didn't have anything like the power constantine had to force compliance. Like today, they just threatened, shamed and the like.. like.. "what about the KIDS? Without *us*, they will go to hell in a handbasket.." The point about miracles.. I've seen two honest to god undeniable miracles happen. In both instances, I was forbidden to put the name of da way on them.. I wonder why..

John Lynn persecuted?? I haven't seen anybody pull a cat of nine tails out of a purse or anything.. he is entitled to his "nuttiness". Its just pathetic when he tries to sell the same inept products, over and over and over.. "and yes, we will need ... (drumroll....).. MONEY.." if the product is so great.. why didn't it work for him? Failed marriages.. divorce.. remarriage.. how many "romantic(?)" liasons.. adultery.. *maybe* even worse.. and after forty some years.. he's just BARELY coming around to the concept, that he needs to be accountable to someone else than his old, arrogant pudgy self.. but even with that, he's back to selling perhaps one of the greatest failure since the first century.. and js is no better. He's got an "Ephesians" ministry, dontcha know.. same damned arrogance that was in the old "ministry".. they haven't managed to grow up.. in my opinion, anyway.. so who is the spectator here? Those actually doing something in the world, or those who stay in their little comfortable "way homes"?

Isn't this the same guy the loyster set his said large rear to the curb? Or was that rosie the hatchet and the donster that ran him off.. along with his "kind"? vewy vewy interesting.. (modified the quote to change the name of the *innocent(?)*..) interesting.. so what was it with da misses? It seems she was willing to rubber stamp almost every edict that came out of they loyster's mouth. even to the extent of alienating herself from her own offspring..
-
haven't seen it.. there was some kind of page hosted by current way guy.. I think they pulled the plug on it.. now they are on facebook? for how long I wonder..
-
act crazy enough, and maybe one does not get the designation of "saint".. no, not down outright evil like some of these numbnuts.. I don't want to ever be old enough to be considered a "patriarch".. my dad succeeded in this regard..
-
good point. And perhaps for him he required all or nothing..
-
I dunno.. I think he sold it for peanuts.. he could buy a masters in theology.. a doctorate at some *reputable* degree mill.. fire up the European christian(?) press.. sell a whole bunch of pfal, rhst.. lots of way stuff.. he probably still has a copy of the the "agreement" to publish way materials.. transcribe a few more *doc* vic praise(?) be his names sunday night services.. tape of the month.. posthumously of course.. the old wayfers kinda go wild over this kind of thing.. maybe he just doesn't have the ambition of his *master*..
