Yep Galen...but there are still a few of us who DARE to try and make a difference in the public school system. I totally admire your ability and resources to homeschool....wish I could do the same. However...so many families do not have that option....which is why public school teachers like me and krys and many others try to make a difference. As a Mom of four, I can honestly say that I share your view of many many public school administrators and etc... but most parents have no clue of their parental rights. And make NO difference. I have been in the office of those administrators who would take full credit for MY fight to get my kids what they deserve. I have also been in the office of administrators who worked magic when the parents WOULD NOT participate in their child's education. This isn't a two sided coin....it is many faceted. As a public school teacher who cares...I ask you, Galen, to not blame the entire system for the acts of those who do not care. But Galen...please understand...I am so proud of your ability to homeschool and the stand you take for your kids. I have kids too...I stand and fight for them and am often extremely unpopular with the teachers and administration where my kids are.(BOY could I tell you stories!!!) See...I KNOW my rights...I enforce them as a parent. I also am a teacher and enforce my rights there to teach my students. My rebel stance has cost me two jobs so far.

Ya'll are being played. This fool has: One thread, 9 posts, Lots of attention, No grasp of reality, No valid biblical perspective, Lots of bluff but absolutely no substance. How many times shall we allow this kind of fool to stir up?

If good teachers stay in the profession, it is ONLY because they care more about the kids than about all the administrational and political posturing. It is also because they find ways AROUND said administration and politicians (insert mustache twirl here). Good teachers educate no matter what the educational soup de jour. And some are fortunate enough to get an administrator or two that also care and educate no matter what. (like my new boss!)

I agree Pirate ....NCLB was NOT drawn up by teachers....which, by the way, is who they should ask about the problems in schools. (duh) It doesn't do much good...and provides no funds. Every single educator I've ever worked with or spoken to thinks it is among the worst acts ever passed (and I agree completely). If one is in a good school, NCLB wasn't needed to begin with....if one is in a mediocre or bad school...NCLB will not do any good.

This has been a hot topic of discussion with educators for months....anyone have any input???

LOVED this movie!!!! I had sooooo many LOL moments....tinkerbell in the mason jar, lost a gum drop button, ugly step-sister...and so many others!!! I took Steve! to see it today....TOTALLY fun movie!!!

Yeah Radar...she is a self-made SNORT! muhahaha

SM2 was SOOOOOO much better then SM1!!! The balance of action against plot was MUCH better....as were the special effects! Steve! and I were in tears in the MJ and Peter scene at the end....I won't go into details to spoil it for someone else...but was very good and nicely realistic. I did NOT like SM1...but SM2...LOVED it!!!

I spent a year at Camp Gunnison in 1986-87 in the corps. The Corps program itself was a breeze...a few pharisee-type rules and a few amazingly bad calls by leadership...but mostly...they left me alone and I learned to leave them alone. I LOVED the mountains, the horses, the after-hours when my buddies and I would fish our wine/beer out of the river stash and sit around and talk. I found the Way Corps itself extremely boring....no challenge at all except for the occasional early morning (which was no biggee) or religious d*ckhead. Beautiful country...worth every minute just to ride those hills onna horse.

We LOVED it too!!!!! Can't wait til it comes out on dvd! We even sat through all the credits at the end hoping for the little surprise that was at the end of the last one...there were a few fun things on the map where the credits were, but no little surprise. darn

I cannot wait until this friday!!! LOVE these movies!!!! We started a tradition when we were still in NJ that Steve and the kids and I would all see this movie at the same time!!! Now we see it at the same time and together!!!!!! We are ALL HUGE Harry Potter fans...and say what you will about the witch and magic phobia....it's GOOD reading!!!!! can'twaitcan'twaitcan'twaitcan'twaitcan'twait
