  1. This is fantastic!!! The more creative we get with this....the more the kids will learn!!! I just loves edumacation
  2. Yeah, krys it's pretty neat! Our two girls did it when they were in first or second grade and they got soooo excited whenever a postcard would come to the school!!! I think we parents get just as excited as the students....I loved hearing about all the different postcards and such when my girls would come home after school. It's something a child remembers for many, many years.
  3. MANY reasons to be glad that it's "way past midnight" and you are certainly one of em....reikilady makes two!!!
  4. We're gonna hafta skip this year....what with buyin a new car for me, paying for the wedding and honeymoon, the new house, gettin four kids ready for a new school year, and me bein outta work this summer...we kinda need some time to regroup! Raincheck for next year????? (we'll be bringin our kids, fer shore!!!)
  5. Saw what was supposed to be a documentary on the director of this film...was a shoddy publicity stunt complete with fake ouija board, supposed "revelations" from local teenagers about the director having a "connection" to "the other side", and a chat room "psychic" telling someone what they were wearing. (oh, please) Completely turned me off to the film (not to mention insulting my intelligence). Guess we were supposed to go: "Wow...this guy is soooo special" {gag}
  6. ROFLMAO, Sudo!!! But wherever did you get the inspiration to post this? -->
  7. Just before moving to Chicago,(actually, the night before I flew out for the final divorce hearing) John was staying with some friends of mine and I came home to a message to call. It was late, around midnight, and he answered. He offered help with a place to stay and stuff if I was moving to Indianapolis. There were no "if you do this" or questions about my spirituality...just a very kind offer of help. I wasn't moving to that area, but was still touched that he made an offer. John, if you do come to GS...there are those of us who think of you fondly and wish you the best!

    New Lurker!!!

    Strangedude....(how's your tongue???)....I'm thinkin they need the time that we all needed at one point, the time to read, ponder, read some more, process, read again....and then when ready...start a-postin. It can be kinda scary for a person new to GS...especially with all the bickering. But I've prefaced with the newlurker that GS is full of all kinds of folks and goes in cycles. But that most of us are kind, don't nitpick, and remember where folks are coming from and give em room to grow. Newlurker will post when they wanna! (a great person, hope it's soon!!!) (Linda Z...that reference to nit=picking was NOT aimed at you, girl!!!)

    New Lurker!!!

    Due to my selling my twi stuff on ebay, someone contacted me who is "in" but not so much. I invited her to gs. When she arrives, just be the loving, caring, but honest people we have come to know and love over the years. And keep that open mind...remember where you were years ago???? Welcome!!!! Much love from GS!!!!
  18. Wow Kit...that was a joy to read! ...and so very true.... My first husband would make a wonderful "What it is NOT" model.... My hubby now could teach Proverbs 31 a thing or two. As a person/wife/mother/woman/professional I know I can go as fast and as far as I like, Steve! believes in me even more than I believe in myself. I am loved, honored, cherished, and safe and protected. I find myself often saying to myself..."Oh...so THIS is why people get married. I get it NOW!!!!" too cool, Kit...thanks for posting this!!!

    I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, but I totally agree with the consensus here... Hie thee hence to a doctor, wench! or at least call your doctor and mention it to him/her...let your doctor make the call on what to do! Don't even finish readin this post, pick up that phone, young lady!!!!

    NEWSFLASH!!!!

    After digging to a depth of 100m last year, English scientists found traces of copper wiring dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago. So as not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, Scottish scientists dug 200m, and headlines in the Scottish newspapers read:- "Scots scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibres, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telephones 1000 years earlier than the English." One week later, the Irish press reported the following:- "After digging as deep as 50 000m, Irish scientists have found absolutely nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, their ancestors were already using mobile phones."
  22. Guess we shouldn'ta named our cat Cecilia, then huh??? :D--> She DID have kittens out of wedlock, which could be considered trampy, but she's fixed NOW!!!! ;)-->
  23. I usually don't mention it at all. Not because I am ashamed or scared or any other resulting emotion or label. I do not mention it for a very simple reason....it does not define me. For instance...my matron of honor did not know of my past cult involvement until she asked me at the rehearsal dinner, "Who are all these people and where did you meet them?" Not because I don't care about her and not because I purposefully avoided it...but because it just never occurred to me to mention it. Perhaps it stems from my profession, but I really doubt it. When it was critical to me, I sought help and professional counseling....just as I did when I left the abusive marriage I was in. I got the help and counsel...it was wonderful in its healing power, and I "lived" in both "survivor" roles (or "victim" roles, if you prefer) for as long as it took to get healed and out of them. Now....they....the cult, the abusive marriage, and everything else in my past is all part of who I am today....but no one or two of them define me. They are simply a part of the tapestry of my life. And tomorrow....another weave...
  24. Sex....in what context are you speaking????
