vickles, Oakspear and johniam offer you some good advice. Don't let other's behavior determine yours or your opinion of yourself (as much as possible) and do be sure your boss knows that you are willing to mediate with this person on this to work it out. Be calm, logical, and mature in your approach (as I'm sure you will be) remembering that you have the right to be heard in this situation. As long as the approach is not passive-agressive,recognizes that some folks react viscerally to certain personalities, and can use good communication skills so that each side feels that they are heard, and doesn't seek to get someone in the middle of it (taking sides), folks can USUALLY work things out (though we have all known exceptions). Oftentimes, someone who reacts this strongly accuses others of what they, themselves do. Since you know what your boss has said to her, it sounds like your boss has a good head on their shoulders. He or she reacted logically to unreasonable demands. I think too often in our twi past, we kept quiet when we should have calmly and maturely spoken up when we knew we should.

Daryl, Suz, Wayfer Not, and etc... Steve and I are thinking of going to Las Vegas near the end of March if you're still game! (still going to D.C. this month, tho!)
-
Maybe we should mail, fed ex, ups, or delivery-messenger a clue to those parents.

We get that a lot, Flow...comes from sharing a brain (and living together for over two years!!!). But yes, we are newlyweds...will be married for ten months on the tenth of this month.
-
We get in about 9ish on United, Flow.

We did decide on a place to go....we are all booked to go to D.C. I was wow there during my interim year...so I get to show Steve! around the town! If there is anyone in that area....let us know if you wanna meet up for dinner!

With a first date and eating habits....I have always gone by one solid rule. If I have to be anyone other than who I am....the date is over before it begins. MAJOR first date rule...be yourself. If they don't like it....too bad, so sad, sucks to be them.

Ok...I was sick with the flu this weekend and decided to watch Steven King's "The Stand" on DVD. Maybe it was just my fever...but isn't Randall Flag a dead ringer for loy-boy? I swear it was almost spooky at times.

Well...there's been a wrinkle or two, WN. First wrinkle was a cub scout sleepover for our boys and a gifted competition for one of our kids....we got that handled through a very loving relative. Then...next wrinkle showed up...although we have two free plane tickets and two free hotel nights anywhere int the US...flights to and from Las Vegas are not available for the dates we need to go. Soooo...we are looking at alternative places to visit. New Orleans, Washington DC...anyone have any suggestions on DO NOT MISS sights???

Our kids are out playing in the snow tunnels they dug yesterday...I posted some pixs in the picture forum. It was still snowing a little here this morning!

Then they need to re-organize their study hall. I have NEVER overseen a study hall in high school or anywhere else where kids could just come and go and were not accounted for in an attendance book or computer program. Even in after school study halls, each student is accounted for and verified. It's required for liability purposes both legally and educationally.

Not only does this school need to beef up security, but the teachers could use a kick where the sun doesn't shine. I cannot IMAGINE a new student being in my classroom and I never venture to get his name, see his id, or check on his schedule. The teachers at this school just LET someone in their classroom whom they did not KNOW???? Unbelievable. (...and a major opening for real harm to come to students in this school if the staff is THIS incompetent)

I agree, J...I ALWAYS see women doctors...now I even have em for my kids because they are SOOOO much better. (though I'll probably hafta switch to a male doctor for my sons soon)
-
I'll just chime in here....seeing as how we pay the doctors to perform a service for us, that makes them (in effect) our employee (so to speak). It is with that attitude that I approach the healthcare of my family. If I want a test performed or a diagnosis ruled-out I make sure it is clear what I want and why I want it. I have only had one or two doctors tell me no, in which cases I got my family's medical records and went to another doctor who WOULD listen to me. We know our bodies and our children's and family's needs...the smart doctors listen and do what we ask...the other doctors...we don't want em taking care of us, anyway..do we??? I'm not rude, I'm not difficult, I simply want my family healthy, whatever it takes...AND... I want what I pay for and nothing less.

Vickles...It is VERY hard to think this way. Who does? (except for those who only think of themselves) Your Bob sounds like a very fine man who tries to do what is best...it is SOOOO wonderful to have a man like that!!! My heart and prayers are FOR you and your wonderful family!!! Take out a life insurance policy on you for your kids and family, if you can. Having those matters handled is such a great relief! Leaves you free to concentrate on the NOW of living life!!! Our hats are off to you and Bob for the wonderful things you are doing for your family and for extended family. What a heart of love you two have!!!!

Goey and Cowgirl...check your PT's!

Who needs this kind of aggravation? I agree with Galen...talk it over with Bob. As far as a policy for your children, if I were you I would be VERY careful to keep it separate from anyone but you and your kids. You and Bob might even decide to keep his name off of it so that those two do not try to get their claws on the money meant for your kids. If all else fails and Bob wants to keep enabling this toxic behavior, I would just lovingly turn all communication and dealings with those two over to Bob completely, step out of it entirely (aside from being sure my children and myself were covered financially), and focus on your marriage and children. It is not worth your peace of mind and happiness to deal with a situation you do not have control over. (besides praying) I would keep my dealings with those two cordial, but brief and I would always pass them onto Bob whenever they want something.
