oh be still, Raf.... geez...you'll ruin my rep!!!

What mydarlinghusband is saying is that in a healthy relationship that is honest, you never, ever, ever have to lose who you are. If you have found someone who is "in tune" with you... you do not have to play games. Whatever you want...they want ... maybe even more! Whatever they want...you want....maybe even more!!! I have been with those who wanted me to be their mother. It was sickening. They wanted me to like who they liked and despise who they despised...without any valid reason that applied to me. And when you break up....oh...forget it....you can agree to be mature...they will call or im everyone they can to trash you. So childish. But childishness is not what a healthy relationship is about. If one is making all the effort, taking all the pictures on a vacation (like I used to), and only contributing when they know it won't hurt them...is it worth it? I got rid of those influences. HCW....it's about being with someone who makes your life "SING"!!!! I have heard from two good friends (also gs'rs) who moved on....one a female....one a male...(both have divorces that are final from previous spouses)...BOTH have found someone who makes their life SING!!!! Isn't THAT what it's about??? Do you know that I've heard of a person who told someone (a very well known extwi name) that if they do not go back to their spouse, they might as well put a GUN to their head and PULL THE TRIGGER? (sick) If your life does not *SING* ... why bother???

BluzieQ....WELCOME to GS!!! With the fact in mind that your dad yells, gets red in the face, and basically just reacts very badly to when folks do or believe a way other than he approves of, you might want to consult your therapist about the best way to go about telling your parents about this site and/or your beliefs. When you have an objective ear to guide you and help you realize that you are ok exactly as you are...it helps when facing those who might not be so balanced in their views on things. You have every right to believe as you want to. And sometimes having someone that can validate that for you if/when your parents don't is a wonderful thing. There are a few people here that were raised in twi that will have MUCH better insights than I am giving you!!! Best of luck and let us know how it goes!!!

It's been a loooonnnggg time since I've had pre-schoolers...but here's a website that looks really good! Pre-school activities and lessons I can ask my sister-in-law today when we have lunch together...she ran a daycare in her home for years before going back to work part-time as a teacher!

wb - i dunno...my principal and the teachers I work with want me to, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to tolerate the politics...(low threshold for b.s.) :(--> Cowgirl...no, not yet...in February we are having a procedure that will reverse my tubal ligation, and make it possible to have a baby!!! Tilda - yeah...I have two college degrees, Steve has four...I GOTTA CATCH UP!!!! ;)-->
-
GstG...we're still doing the "procedure" ... it's gonna be in February, probably. The last time I went to college I had four children (one of them four months old) and an abusive a@@hole of a husband and I graduated in the top 3% of my class. So..with my youngest child now 10 and a new baby cookin for 9 months...no worries!!!

...at the end of next month, I begin a masters degree program in Educational Leadership. Just finished picking my courses with my advisor today. Steve and I figure that in about one year, I will be able to get my certification.

Not in hurricane conditions, they don't have to!!!
-
Yes, wb...that is what Steve and I are gonna do...use it to jumpstart us. We begin next Monday!!!

Here's a recipe for the soup that looks a bit tastier Fat Burning Soup

This is gonna sound odd, smurfette...but one of the most valueable books I read (besides Codependent No More) was Fish! It's great for knocking out that "I'm responsible for everything" mindset and go back to enjoying LIFE!!! Click HERE for Fish!

A shop I have recently discovered (and spent more money than I should have!) is Dress Barn. There are two sections...one for misses (up to size 14) and one for woman (size 14w-24). It's great!!! My daughters and I all love it!!! Bright colors, nice fashionable clothes that don't make my daughters look like sluts-in-training and don't make me look like I'm trying too hard to be young again. (and makes my husband wanna rip the clothes right off me :o--> ) Check it out! Dress Barn

The ! family did indeed find Marvin at Six Flags! We JUST got back and put everything away. We were there from Saturday to today...a GS'r watched our dogs n etc n stayed at the ! home while we were gone. He was only available in the keyring size (lotta crowds this weekend!)...but that will be handy for mailing n such. Whom does he go to first??? He's one ready-to-travel martian!!!!

ERIC!!! Yes, we in education LOVE and WORSHIP Eric!!!! Haven't found him useful for practical classroom management info. but he's great with helping develop lesson plans and fun ideas!

Highway...exactly!!! Krys...sounds like a tedious process, but at least it was clear for the kids (I guess) exie...boo hiss!!!! Something for a beginning teacher to do with regards to class management or anything is to observe some of the teachers who've been doing it. Watch them for a while to see whose style you most identify with, and then be sure to go to that teacher whenever you need to. Seasoned teachers (if they are any good) are a very very valueable resource!!!

The steps to grief that vickles posted are very true. One thing to keep in mind, though is that they do not always stay in order or come in clear steps. Some steps linger through other steps, some steps come out of order for some people. Whatever way these steps happen to an individual is right for that individual, and if they are getting counseling...noone should ever say that they should be "over" that part by now.

Where did the 50's women divorcing thread go??? I posted something on it and it could not post cuz the data was not found. Wazzup? It was a valueable thread.
-
There was no third person mentioned, vickles. To break it down to simple terms...when you are in an emotional situation like divorce...you are not always objective. So truth, in the midst of emotions depends on perspective for each individual involved. Thus...one person sees it from their perspective, the other person sees it from their own perspective...and the truth of what has happened also exists. There are not three people involved...there are two perspectives, strongly influenced by emotion...and there is the truth of what happened in the relationship. Is that clearer for you?
-
The thing about divorces...or any break up....is that there are three sides. 1. His 2. Hers 3. The Truth A divorce is a very difficult thing...even when it is sorely needed. The stages of divorce or breaking up are very difficult. It's so good to see that gs'rs have responded to this with love and prayers for both Suz and George. THAT is what SHOULD happen!
