Is this GreaseSpot for a bunch of whiners???
topoftheworld replied to Warren's topic in About The Way
Rummie- I come here for the wine..er, whine myself. Can I have some cheesecake with that? Seriously, Warren, I have been one of those considerably healed by what I found here-and I've been out for 25 years. Never had a place to get over my Waybrain (they were right, I was wrong thinking) until I found this place last year. So, I'll stay til I get thrown out, or until is there is not ONE MORE PERSON that may need what little help I can offer. -
Ah, yes, another wonderful and informatitive thread swirling down the drain. :( Alan- Room for both thoughts in a constructive manner, perhaps? I'm learning quite a bit on both sides. Let's keep that going.

Thank you, Sudo. Appreciate your thoughts. I am nothing if not stubborn, so if my computer has a way and Kathy or you have a will, I'm going give it a go. Meanwhile, keep on keeping on! Ok, I've derailed your thread enough! Back to the barn!

Don't forget the bubbles!!!! Debbie and Stan's Saltwater Clip Art Collection

Yeah-I was trying to make Kathy's day. I didn't follow the normal "guess what" rules, but thought we all could use another treat. Fogelberg had been through a bad bout with prostate cancer, and seems to have come out the other side ok. He isn't touring, but I believe he's still writing those great songs. See ya!

Hmm..there're still there. Here's favorite song and artist of mine-can you play video clips at work? Run for the Roses I don't know how to do it like Rick did-hope it works for you.

Happy Birthday, Tonto!! Make sure T-Bone buys you a T-bone! <_<

You guys warm the cockles of my heart. Do you have to have your own web page to share music files from a stand-alone computer? Forgive an ignorant question. I'd love to share some things, but hate to bother anyone by sending files for them to post (not that I've figured out how to even do that. )

You're a good man, GT. :)

Dooj, now that we know Rummy has a friend with a Nobel prize, maybe you need to sweat a little.......

Isn't it great! I saw the alligator too. There were a bunch of monkeys around the water, and they must have heard the gator splashing, because they freaked and took of. That's when the camera operator started following the movements in the pond, so for a while all you had was a few of ripples on the surface. I wonder if he's a recent arrival: hate for all the animals to start avoiding the place. Hate even more to see one of them get attacked. I know, I know, it's the way of the wild, but I only want to see my food wrapped in cellophane. You know? Ohhh...there he is again! Oh no-he just got a bird!!!! Ewwwwww!

Ok, you guys are going to hate me, but I found another site.Pete's Pond It will require Real Player, but if you have it, it's worth it. The colors are awesome, it seems to be a pretty active place, and it's sponsored by National Geographic. Very pretty area. Now we'll never get any sleep! Sorry!! Hope you don't mind my posting this link on your thread, Greasy. It's your fault-you got me hooked!

Mstar is right. Columbus felt he had a mission from God to bring light to dark lands, but the moment he saw the Indians had gold, that became his goal. One interesting note. Columbus and his men automatically assumed authority over the natives they met when they landed in 1492. This gave them the right to forcibly remove some of these natives and bring them along the rest of his travels as interpreters. Doing so, of course, set a bad example with later tragic repercussions. I don't know if you even want to get into this, but one thing that is a huge difference between life in 1492 and life now is that 1492 most motivations were, at least initially, based upon the "need" to bring Christianity to all parts of the world. Just prior to Columbus getting his long requested three ships, Spain had just won a war with the Moors, and the royalty of Spain felt that Columbus's journey would be a great way to pay God back for the victory. In today's world, with a few notable exceptions, life, government, and corporate decisions are not based upon a perception of what God's will is. Quite the opposite. Couldn't find anything on games, just some stuff from Puritan life, but that a hundred plus years after, and even then, at least here, there was nothing much available. None of this may help, but it's my little contribution. When is the assignment due?

Woo hoo! Very nice, RR!! Will you be able to celebrate somewhere with him? Kinda nice to know somebody who knows somebody who is a Nobel Prize winner. Hope it rubs off!

I don't know what's more frightening-that picture or suddenly surrounded by Way bumper stickers. "My son calls from the other side of the jeep and runs to me screaming its 'The Way'. I told him yes it is go back in the car, trying to look non excited." You have a smart, son, there, Vickles. "Stranger danger" becomes "Way danger"! I was once in the parking lot of my grocery store in Ft Worth with a friend, pulling in to get some bbq supplies, when I spotted a old car, Wowmobile like, with a green Way sticker. Since it had been at least 15 years since I had seen one, even I was surprise my my reaction. My friend noticed that I turned white and started to shake a little, enough for her to ask what was wrong. Of course I couldn't explain it. I just parked as far away as I could, and shopped at another market for a while. Strange, huh?

Any here with skeptical remarks have good reason for them. I sincerely doubts that converts would be found to this new "Way" of thinking-at this not among these posters. I believe you requested information, in a manner which sounded like a cry from the heart, and good-hearted people took the time to answer your question and show you the results. I hope you respect their efforts. I say this only because your last remarks sounded like you were taking a "tone" with us. I'm only speaking for myself, of course. Good luck in your continued search, and if or when you find yourself in trouble, this is a good place to come. Shell-that was my first thought too.

I see them!! There are two back here. Ohhh....so exiting! Love those zebra stripes.

All of you are true poets........ I thought I saw someone walking to the right of the buildings when the camera swung around...wonder if that's keeping the animals away. Pretty quiet so far....excepts for the birdies.
