  1. Gotta be a Jimmy Buffet, since I think I know most of Croce's work. Could be Chapin, but I doubt it. Whichever, I'm lost.
  2. Those are the one's that make your chest tight, your cheecks, burn, and very nasty thoughts to run through your head (like flattening his tires.) However, since people like us are above that sort of thing, all you can do is kill them with kindness, and if that doesn't work (with certain machismo types it never will), grit your teeth and never let him see that he gets to you. It's a tough spot, I know.
  3. Geez, guys-that's not fair! I willing to wait patiently for the next clue, but I sure don't want to go to sleep with Arabs dancing in my heaad!
  4. Yeah, Tom-that's what I was thinking: what would his life be like if he was just an ordinary working stiff? Having the monks attack him and then hurting himself falling down the stairs seems to make a point that his life was fated to be a volient one. BTW-was it just me, but did the voice on the phone sound like Adrian? It sure didn't sound like Carmela.
  5. I'm stumped. Sounds like the story of the Titanic, although the drummer is throwing me off. Maybe a steamboat on the Mississippi?
  6. Oldies, no one would come right out and say that leaving TWI stripped you of your rights and standing, but you know that by saying we would be greasespots by midnight implies that we would be an open target to to the devil. Now, if I, with or without TWI's teachings, believe that I am a Son of God, then I have His protection and love whatever the circumstances. Building the fear of reprocussion by the devil if I leave is saying that I no longer have God's protection or the blessings of His righteous hand in my life. I don't think that it takes a huge leap in intelligent thought to realize the subtle implications. Remember Donna's blurb on Naoma and Art? She died because Art left. Well, when Art left, was he still a son of God? Yes. What happened was an unbearable tragedy, but to say that it happened because he left TWI was putrid garbage.
  7. Arabian Nights? Nah Arab bee rn courtney
  8. You got it, Tom. Loved that movie, and Helen greatly deserved the Ocsar.
  9. It's all uphill from here! Happy birthday.
  10. Jesu Christ was the greatest leader in the world, yet he humbled himself by washing feet. How that got translated into standing and clapping is beyond me. I will stand when someone has earned my respect.
  11. Praying for you and your situation. If you can, start documenting his actions in writing for your own protection. Is he in a supervisory position over you?
  12. That is unbelievable, Tom. My heart goes out. I worked on Singleton Blvd off Loop 12 for several years and had to go downtown or to Love field a lot, so I am familiar with the areas. Unbelievable pictures. I also saw the story of the implosion of the Landmark Tower in Ft Worth: can't believe it. Do you know whatever happened to the Bank One Tower? It was one of the buildings that was so badly damaged during the tornado: I've got some great pictures of it. They hadn't thought it could be saved, but I had heard that someone bought it and they were going to try to fix it up for condo's. I left Ft. Worth in 2001, so I don't know the latest.
  13. Thanks for the info. I can still say that I do not recall anything anti-semetic coming directly from VP-at least not up until I left in 82. Doesn't mean it didn't happen-I just never heard it. Just another nail in the coffin, I guess.

    Who Shot JFK?

Interesting-but not really credible, don't you think? Niether Joe West, or Files-Sutton are included in the index of the Warren Commison Report, at least not the Unabridged Version that I have.
  15. I cleaned the library-so I didn't have a lot of time to read-but, yeah, I snuck as many peeks as I could. I actually enjoyed that assignment, because I had an appreciation for the building itself and it's history. I also was aware of all the work previous Corps groups had done to bring it to it's glory and to maintain it. I assume it's still there...
  16. Add to that the paper strip they leave across the seat, like a Ms Toilet banner. Can't tell how many times I've checked in late at night in a hotel and had to deal with that unexpected joy in the dark. Plus: coldest days traveling in north-the heat would never be on in the room. After trudging through the snow in the parking lot and getting to the room, only to find one of those waist high heaters that deliver more humidity than heat! I have to run a hot bath and stick my feet in just to prevent frostbite. One more: I went to Neuburg, New York for a week. Being a good company person, knowing that I had an especially tough week ahead, I fly out on a Sunday. Planes were delayed: got to the hotel around 7 Pm, and the room wasn't ready. Ate dinner and got the room around 8. Started to run a bath and unpacked while the tub was filling. Went to check on the tub and the water was-well somewhere between deep yellow and dark brown. I was horrified! I called the desk to ask, "What the hell...!" They said that the water filtration system in the city had been operating poorly for years! Oh, the water was safe, just yucky looking. Really! I said, "Well, is the water safe to use for morning coffee? (I know, I know-but I have to have my coffee in the morning". They say, "Well, no, but we offer bottled water". I said, "Well, when were you going to tell anybody". They said, "Well, we had a sign but somebody must have taken it down". I called another hotel: no surprise-their water was fine: but no rooms available. I had sponge baths from cold bottled water the whole frigging week. I had the same problem in Ft. Lauderdale: their water is a urine yellow. At least they have signs in the bathroom warning you. Traveling-where's the glamour part?
  17. Tom, Wafer brought up the innocent thing. And about the girlfriend, I was discussing highlights from season one. Yeah, you need a frigging scorecard to keep up with the girlfriends and flings and whatever else Tony plays at through the series. Maybe a bullet in his gut will keep him down for a while (hehe). Oh-better-maybe Carmelia will take over the family. I mean, she obviously doesn't want to lose what she got!
  18. Well, sheeskabob! That's ok-we've waited 25 years-a little longer won't hurt. Tell him thanks in advance-and thanks for checking with him.
  19. Dooj-you're almost there! Clue-heart throb and actress/singer.
  20. Getting tired of me? Ok, one more from me-then I'll just observe in silence for a while. "Come on in, and try not to ruin everything by being you."
