Thanks for that link, Kathy! Those live performances are priceless. I had forgotten how wonderful the version of "All My Lifes a Circle" was. In the "Tribute to Harry Chapin" that PBS aired in 1987, Richie Havens performed W.O.L.D, and it was a stunning, hauntingly beautiful performance. Wish I had a way to let you listen to it. Hard to believe it's been 25 years since we lost Harry, but his wonderful words and music live on. Thanks for the memories.

Never thought I'd be glued to the screen to watch birds picking mites out of the ear of an antelope..... Thanks, Greasy Tech, for providing yet another addiction. The sounds themselves make great background noise. I hope that's not a dead animal.....

Welcome, Lori. Look forward to getting to know you.

Chatty, Yahoo is apparently doing another "upgrade" which always turns things toppsy-turvey. I have still been able to receive e-mail notifications through my AOL mail from members on the Way list, though not as many as normal. Jim did indicate he expected a bumpy ride for a few days.

True, Seth, but I yam what I yam and have what I have. Thanks anyway. :)

Yeah, this is the new upgrade from Microsoft for XP. Seth, any info on price of upgrade for current XP users? I read about $199-wondered if that was accurate. Does Vista include an upgrade of Media Center, and have they corrected the DVD burn issue which is problematic with XP version?Media Center DVD burn problem for XP I was having good success recording old VHS tapes into Media Center, and then burning them on a DVD. But after four or five burns MC crashed. I was able to recover and retreive all my previously recorded data (at that point only five items) but have never been able to burn from MC again. Nothing wrong with the recorder itself-CD's burn fine. Just curious to see if you'd tried it out. It's cheaper than buying a VHS/DVD recorder and the quality was good.

Well, these leaders had no problem publicly ridiculing people, both alive and dead, during their tenure. It's part of who they were. And a big part of the reason why a lot of us are here. Their children either already know this, have access to the information themselves and choose not to read (or listen to) it, or are participating still in similiar actions. Best case, they would be working to repair the damage caused by their parents or have moved on to build healthier lives of their own. If they don't want to read anything negative, they sure don't have too. I would imagine that the audience that would read whatever comments are made here is much smaller than, say, audiences that absorb dirt about the Kennedy parents or Clinton's or Bush's or Gibson's or whatever public figure out there gets his or her name in the paper. Rightly or wrongly, their kids have to live with public ridicule for a lot longer than things recorded here. I see no problem having a safe place to vent. If people go overboard, someone loving can reel them back in. But people tend to get what they deserve, and Donna became one of them. So be it. IMHO, of course.

Really happy it worked out for you, Krys.

My oh my. Sudo, I haven't heard that song all the way through since I was a child. The final refrain always stuck with me, but not the rest of the details, and it is as funny as I remember. I also recall that in 64 or 65, he was in the Thanksgiving Day parade and we all gathered around our new novelty, the color TV, to listen to him sing that song-one of our rare family moments. Thanks for a wonderful flashback.

LOL! Rumor has it these same phrases are used by any and all teenagers, with the same resulting translation. (Replace a-h with whatever word is popular at the moment.)

So they are divorced?? Guess I missed the memo..... You have to wonder at point what they realize that the lack of adoring fans is due to their actions and the uncovering of the crumbled foundation the cornfield was built upon. I mean, these are people who used to get up in front of thousands to speak.....now I reckon they are lucky to get in front of enough to fit around a kitchen table. What a letdown.

That's supposed to be funny........? If it was a place I frequented often and everybody knew everybody, ok. But a cold joke in an unknown spot? I might wind up owning the place.
