  1. southern gentleman, so good to read that your family is still intact. So many others were torn apart. As for myself, I survived 19 years of twi and thought that I was relatively unscathed. That is, until I heard about Waydale and then GS. Now, I question EVERYTHING that I was taught and believed all these years. BUT I do not question my salvation, because I was saved in the Baptist church when I was a child. Since leaving twi, my life has been fantastic. I married a non-way wonderful man. We owned a small business in AR for 8 years, over 6 of which I worked with hubby daily. Then we sold our business and moved back to my hometown. I am enjoying being a housewife and spending time with my family and friends. Renewing old acquaintances as I see them out, mostly. I have run into ex-way people at Walmart, Chamber of Com., etc. I volunteer some of my time for the Emer. Shelter for Women that my sister manages. ChattyKathy and I are having a vendor booth to benefit the local Hosp. Foundation this month. She drives in from OH and we had a great time last year, and look forward to having another wonderful time and making some money this time!!! BTW, I had a pretty good job while in twi. I moved from KY to SC to AL to AR for the COMPANY that I worked for. The TC, BC, and LC in all states basically left me alone, even though I dated MOSTLY non-way men, and traveled for my company.
  2. This is good, Sudo. I have a brother who will be married 32 yrs this month. Their only CHILD, a GIRL, is now 15. (Yes, they were married 17 years before she was born!!!) My brother is absolutely behind himself regarding her growing up. I need to copy this and email it to him. Thanks for the smile!!!
  3. Hey Catcup. Maybe you should do a poll to see how many people have gotten their checks 'lost'... just a suggestion. Sorry for all your troubles.
  4. ['Xena' date='Oct 2 2005, 09:00 PM' ] So . what was the big announcement, for real? Anybody know? -X Xena asked and so will I. What was the big announcement? ANYBODY in the know?????!!!
  5. Ted and Moony, Congratulations to both of you. Love is grand and sometimes even grander later in life. My hubby and I married when he was 50 and I was 40. Maturity and respect go a long way also. Again, I am so happy for you two.
  6. Hey Chatty!! The back of my head and hat made the local newspaper this morning. The "Hats Off to Collections" brunch was yesterday, remember??? Also, my kickboxing friend (whom I had loaned a hat) was talking to me, so her head and hat are in it!!!! heehee... Antique Show fast approaching!!!!!!!!
  7. About 2 1/2 years ago, Brian Bliss was playing the piano for Lou Vuto in Pigeon Forge, TN. Lou was at the Memories Theater, but now has his own thing going. You can find out about Lou in the Corps Threads, I think.
  8. Happy Belated Birthday, Sudo. I still think about last year, seeing you at Lee Greenwood's concert and not knowing it was you!!! Who is the big act this year? I really enjoyed Josh Turner last year also. I dont have any kids, but some of my nieces and nephews are going thru the teenage years. God Bless ALL parents!!!!
  9. Welcome, Peter Wade. My sister receives your material. In fact, you wrote her a letter and told her that you looked up our hometown, where we both now live. Henderson, KY. She thinks highly of you.
  10. I got my email notification just fine. :)-->
  11. act2

    It was 1975

Sea, yes, tell us more. You are a great writer. We had a Sambo's in my hometown during those years also. Now it is a Grandy's.
  12. WordWolf, a big thank you for taking the time to dissect this book. I have read your excerpts thru much different eyes. Most of us were young and foolish at that time. 30 years ago, when I took pfal, I thought it was so cool. Young and foolish, like I said. I have nothing to add to this, because it has been said so eloquently by you and the other posters. Thanks again.
  13. Good morning, everyone!!! Hearing your song, Kathy, brought back memories of the first time I received the CD's from you and Ted. I told you at that time that you have a beautiful voice, you just needed confidence to 'let it rip!!!' Ted, you have been a GREAT blessing to many people's lives. Sometimes I take you for granted that you will always be here. So, I am saying for the record for all to see: I love your singing, your heart, your love for God and His Son, Jesus Christ, our lord and savior, your compassion, and your giving. You are truly a wonderful brother and I thank you for all you do to further His Truth by your singing. God bless you, Ted. :)-->
  14. templelady, went to England Dec. 2001 right after 9-11. We met our friends who live in US now but are from there. We visited their families and explored many sites that even they had not seen. Windsor Castle, London (ate at Hard Rock Cafe!!), many other things. 1. Cayman Islands (for scuba diving) 2. Hawaii 3. Northern England 4. Italy 5. Australia Well, I cant think of any more that I REALLY want to visit. I have been to Mexico (Cancun, Cozymel, Playa del Carmen, Mayan Ruins), Jamaica, Bahamas, and England.
  15. Too cool, Jan. God is still in the business of answering prayers. For so long, most of us TOLD God what to do with our lives....wrong... I now ASK God to do His will in my life and I trust that He will, because I am asking Him. He knows the future, we dont. My life is so much more peaceful than it was when I was in twi, for so many reasons, but just being able to TRUST in HIM and LET HIM do the directing and guiding is a weight off my shoulders.
  16. newlife, welcome back. Thank you so much for taking the time to post your story. I have been out since 1994 and I can truly say that these years post=twi have been my most prosperous and humbling that I have ever experienced. I also attend church and have learned that I dont know it all either. I think that is the first thing we have to acknowledge for God to START working in us. Also am begining to realize who this Jesus is that I had not heard about since I was a teenager attending church. The absent Christ is the twi way. What a crock. Anyway, thanks again for your story. :)-->
  17. Hey Jan, welcome. My brother and his family have been going there for quite some time. They kept talking about their preacher. He isnt a smooth talker. Just a good ole country boy who was called to preach. Such a change from the ones that are so polished and perfectly well-spoken. A wonderful change. Ok, off to kickboxing. :)-->
  18. Heehee.... Ted, I like your way of thinking. Yeah, Kathy, I need a black felt hat with silver trim and diamond-like sequins to go with the long black dress that I am wearing to the gala. HELP!!!!!!!!! Off to kickboxing!!!!!! Knee, kick, block, jab, punch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I am humbled yet proud to say that I attend regularly Cherry Hill Baptist Church. Our preacher is truly a wonderful man and prays for God Almighty to inspire him for each service. Yeah, it takes some time to get the waybrain out of your mind, but I PUSH it out any :)-->time it tries to interfere with the message. As I have said in another post, I am saved and going to heaven and I know it. I really don't care if there were 2 or 4 on the cross with Jesus, because the MOST important one WAS on that cross. He died and was raised again.
  20. ChattyKathy, you know I had to post this: Kathy has a tremendous voice. Very peaceful. Subdued. If she ever had a major confidence boost, she would really let it rip!!!! ;)-->
  21. Love the pix!!!! You two are a great pair. :o-->
  22. Cowgirl, have you checked the Entertainment Archives? TWI/Music something or other started by ChattyKathy???? Hope this helps.
  23. ex10, I love that song and play (practice) it on my digital piano all the time. It took me a while to get over the 'surrender' part because of waybrain, but I can now play and sing it with all my heart.
  24. To all that have posted to this thread: Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I guess it has renewed my 'faith' a little. There were good times and bad times, but it helps to keep those good times in the forefront and learn from the bad times. I just returned from a weekend in AR visiting my almost 5-yr old goddaughter, Sarah Jane. Some of you may remember her from pix that I posted after Paw started the 'Pictures'.
  25. David, I know exactly how you feel. Time flies. But God is always good and He has our future in HIS HANDS!!!!! Isnt that a comfort???!! :)--> Ok, who else??? Come on, dont be shy. Tell us about your wow experience!!!
