['oenophile' 'Mar 30 2006, 10:45 PM'] Lindeman's Bin 65 Chardonnay. Because of the warmer climate in Australia, this wine has butterscotch, vanilla and apricot flavors. ($10-12) Thanks for this suggestion. I printed your suggestions and took the copy with me to Sam's Club yesterday. This is the only one that Sam's had. I opened a bottle of it tonite. Very good. AND for less than $5.00 per bottle at Sam's. I am not much into white wines, but I like this one.

Thanks for your kind words, Kathy. Yeah, my prayers go out to all the ones who have suffered so much loss. I had requested something from REO and Cowgirl obliged. Now, my question is: What is the earliest year of Nostalgia??? Cause I want to request something else, but it may be TOO new!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Cowgirl, that second one especially brings back some good memories. Thanks. You must be 'walking'. heehee..... Chatty, my boss (aka my brother) paid to have it put together, so I got to watch a pro at work. I love the new computer. It is fast, plus we have DSL at work so all factors combined, really cool. Yeah, about 1/2 between Sudo's house and mine, 23 people were killed (in Newbern, TN), plus 4 more in TN.

Cowgirl, I cant listen to these songs!!! I am eating my oatmeal and cant dance!!!!!!!!!!! Love them both.... now how about some REO??? Good morning to all of you. I am soon to be heading to my little part-time job!!! My boss bought me a brand new computer last nite so it will be fun putting it together today.

Ok, since I am the culprit that started the FIRST happy birthday thread EARLY, I guess it would be appropriate for me to say again: Happy Birthday, Kathy, and to my niece, Missy, and my grandma who would have been 96 TODAY.... and don't ask me how I got the 14th and 19th mixed up with all this happening stuff going on.

Today is the day finally!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope it is a great one. :)

templelady said 'I know a group of women--dear friends to me--who meet with several other women once a week and Knit. Every week they go to a different home and they knit and they talk. There are about 10 women in this circle and they never ask anyone else to join. It's understood that these 10 women, who have been doing this for years, view this as a second mini family where they can relax and let their hair down." Please, Templelady, do not compare twi with a knitting group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You disgrace knitters everywhere, myself included!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt help myself!! Praise the lord I walked away 11 1/2 years ago. :)

Coming out of hibernation just for this thread, Oenophile!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations to you, your son, and your whole family!!! My niece's father-n-law graduated from Harvard Law School many years ago, and still talks about his experience there with much pleasure. Give my congrats to Ryan.

Besides what everyone else has said; remember that twi is Way overstaffed. Now they can assign a few people to monitor the prospective adv. class grad's progress!!! I bet they even set up a spreadsheet on each student and have graphs and announce at mealtime how many are meeting their monthly objectives, with an end to their goal (Adv. Class Grad). Just my opinion

I am pondering so many things, but I want to say that this is a very TIMELY thread. Raf has a great study on his website livingepistlessociety.org.

Welcome, Suda. Would the Self's be a part of your fellowship??? I lived in the Memphis area from 1992 to 2004. The Self's went to Ron and Sheliah C's twig, along with a Peggy & her daughter Evelyn, and myself, and a few others here and there.... I walked away in 1994 from twi. Have only spoken with Ron and Sheliah (now divorced) since 1994. Never saw any of the folks about town.

Finding GSC/Waydale, finding yourself. What made ya look?
act2 replied to ChasUFarley's topic in About The Way
I got out in 1994 due to my fiance' living with me. Yes, I was living in SIN, not broken fellowship. Anyway, I walked away after hearing Loy spewing about 'shacking up' on a SNS tape at twig. I told my wonderful TC that I had never been kicked out of anything in my life and I wasnt about to start now. BUT, I still believed everything that I had been taught. In 2000, my sister moved to AR to work for hubby and me in our business. She continued a long-distance friendship with the TC in Evansville, who told her about LCM and the lawsuit, Waydale, etc. I told her NOT to listen to Steve, that it was an attack from the adversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still believed everything that I had been taught. Yes, I know I have already said that in the first paragraph. Steve mailed her several pages of printouts and she told me more details about it, so I finally had to check it out for myself. I was in shock, to say the least. Well, then one day I looked and Waydale wasnt there. I was in shock again. A few months later, I searched and found Greasespot. For the past 5+ years, I have read the stories and have come to believe that twi was and is an EVIL corporation, nothing Christian about it. NOW, I DO NOT believe most of what I was taught for 19 years of my life. But I do believe what I was taught as a child and teenager by my parents and the churches that I attended. GOD is good. I am born again, and I knew it as a child. I didnt need twi to tell me that. Thanks, Paw, and all those that keep this site going. No telling HOW many people this site and Waydale has brought closure and answers to. -
Loved it. Thanks, Paw and Chas. You both have great voices!!!!
-
ex10, you took the words right out of my mouth. That is EXACTLY how I felt also.
-
Hey Ex. I really dont know what makes a good greasespotter, but I can tell you that when I first starting posting here, you were one of the few who gave me the time of day. Since that time, that has changed somewhat, but I will NEVER forget you. So that tells me that YOU are an UNFORGETABLE Greasespotter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dmiller, that is really cool. Thanks for posting it. :)

BackForty, yes, you are correct. I also rented his house that he owned in Evergreen. He & family had lived in McKenzie, then later I heard that they had bought a drug store in Georgiana. Dont know if they still live in McKenzie or where.
-
Rascal, I was at the other end of the state, Evergreen, AL. I never went to a limb function. I think the tc did once, if I recall correctly. He was a pharmacist and owned his own drug store. A wonderful man and family.

I moved to SC from my hometown in Dec. 1989, due to a job promotion. I immediately hooked up with the Greenville twig (30 miles away). We had a WC man & his non-corps wife. Everything seemed fine to me. I guess I was in lala land the whole time I was in twi!!! Anyway, a year later, I moved to AL (a tiny town, but just happened to have a believer couple, again, about 30 miles away. I do not ever recall anyone being at twig, except for me, the couple, and her daughter and the baby girl they had together. So again, I was not aware of anything going on in twi. We just had our little twig and abs and that was all. In 1992, I moved to the Memphis, TN, area. That is when Harve and Peg came to be our BC's. Again, the only thing I remember BAD was when LCM was spewing and spitting during the obligatory tape nites. I finally left in 1993, but that is for the next thread!!! I do not recall any letters or anything like that. It may be repressed in my memory somewhere. I only recall that when LCM was made president that we had to stand and repeat something. Guess it didnt mean a whole heck of alot to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, Rascal, I am also extremely sorry for what you and your family endured. What a life...... NOT!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sushi and Abigail, congratulations!!!! I am so happy for the two of you. May the rest of your days together be filled with love, joy, caring, thoughtfulness, giving, forgiving, and beautiful memories!!!!

tom The food (or lack thereof) and hitchhiking horror stories are TWO of the reasons that I never felt 'God' calling me to enter the the way corps for a lifetime of service to them!!! I have never eaten alot, but I do like food. And I LOVE chocolate.
