Hey Linda, I have been going thru some old magazines for ex10's boss, and saw your name at the bottom of the page, and had to smile for more reasons than one!!! I am so happy that we are all out and living life and having fun. Yeah, and I saw DB's picture several times.... and oh lord, Loy with his tights on smiling so sweetly to the other lead in AOS....makes my skin crawl now that I know some of what went on!! Ok, I will leave now. I could have been in the 9th Corps....but glad I never went.

I will turn 50 this month. I can't say that I have had a mid-life crisis or anything. My husband who is almost 60 just bought an existing auto repair business today. The previous owner is 62 and ready to retire. My hubby thinks he is just getting started!!!! I work part time for my brother, sell on ebay, and now will work some in the new business venture, so in a few weeks, I may say that I am going thru a mid-life crisis!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, we do look forward to being a bigger part of my hometown community and being in the swing of things as we were in AR. Yesterday, I went to the funeral home for a former pastor of ours growing up and saw his son, who was a few years older. Some people stay the same and some don't, is all I think I had better say on this subject! AND today, I saw a man that I had a crush on in FIFTH GRADE!!!! We both recognized each other. Some still look good and some don't..... Ok, I will shut up now. Ok, one more thing. For the females reading this, take a peek at the picture I posted in the 'Deadwood' thread. WOW!!! is all I can say. My sister was the lucky one hugging him, but I cut her out of the picture!

It is great fun, bowtwi, but I understand if you want the ISLAND!!! But, I forgot to mention: the state park also has a nice lake with paddle boat rentals, tennis courts, a wonderful museum, swings and things for the kiddies. Lots of shade at the state park and the bluegrass festival. PLUS, I LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hometown of Henderson, KY, is home to John James Audubon State Park. It has campsites, rv sites, and cabins, golf. That very weekend we are having our 21st (I think) annual FREE Bluegrass in the Park festival. I have attended many times and it is great, even if you dont LOVE bluegrass. Zixar, you know alot about this series. I do not. However, I do personally know "Joey". He is from W. Memphis, AR, where hubby and I owned our small business. His nickname is Skip, aka Skipper. His given name is Everette. I have a gorgeous picture of him somewhere taken at the Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis, when our friend Bill Haney had a CD release party. What fun we had. I have never seen Deadwood, but will probably rent the series so I can see Skip. Skip's mom and my hubby sold real estate for the same company for a short while, and we installed mirrors and shower enclosures for his step-dad. Great family. In fact, I bought a new home from his step-dad, which is how I first met the family. Now you know more than you ever wanted to know about "Joey" and me, for that matter!!!!!!

Cowgirl, I love gokarts!!! Whenever we go anywhere there are gokarts, I have to ride. I usually beat my husband due to the fact that he weighs about 100# more than I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One time my nephew (he was 6 at the time) visited us in AR, and we had a local track. Hubby, Levi, and I had so much fun. I have pix and a video of some of it. My dad built one when I was a child. He was a welder, so it was the real deal, but I have no idea how he did it. Perhaps someone will have some info for you.

Thanks for the crown, likeaneagle, and I drink wine but shy away from hard liquor, bowtwi!!!!!!!!! Well, Saturday, as I posted in the 'Friends' forum, I ran into an old high school friend. Lynn knew that I had been in twi, and she had recently asked a mutual friend (who was in for a few years in the 70's) if I was still involved. Shirley said that she didn't think I was....anyway, for me to run into Lynn at the library was kinda funny and cool. So back to the story. Lynn asked me if I knew a lady named Gelina who was with twi and worked with Lynn at the bank. Lynn thought the world of Gelina and wanted to contact her again, as she had lost contact with her about 10 years ago. I told Lynn about GS and that I would start a thread and ask about Gelina. Lo and behold, 2 people knew her. SO, Shirley called me today to give me some info that I had asked her about, and I told her about running into Lynn..... and I told Shirley about GS and how vpw and loy and company had done terrible things to young women and teenagers, etc.....She was shocked. (We had seen each other a couple of times since I had moved back home, but did not talk about twi. I bet she will lurk as soon as she gets a chance!!!) HI SHIRLEY!!!
