    Weenie Roast 2006

I do hope you all are having a blast. Hubby and I just returned home from a WHOLE day of live music. We loved it. And it was free. The food vendors have great food. The weather was absolutey gorgeous today. The park setting has so much shade and being on the river, there was a wonderful breeze all day. Anyway, maybe another year, we can do it here. The music goes on till about 10 tonite, but we were getting tired!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Amen to what everyone said.

  6. I am not going to talk about beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!heehee.... Jonny Lingo, what great pix of you and your sons. I know that you are so proud of them and your daughter. Thanks for giving me a smile this morning before finishing getting ready for work!!!!
  7. AMEN, topoftheworld!!!!!!!!!! OMG, the hitchhiking was the MAIN reason that I did not go WC. I had heard 'praise stories' though they werent called that (heehee) and I was scared to death. I am so sorry for all the horrible things that so many of you endured because you signed up for a program. There is a day coming that will right those that were wronged, and I cant wait. Hubby is calling me to come watch a movie. Will try to post some tomorrow about some of my 'close calls'.
  8. Belle and topoftheworld, thanks for your wishes also. Yesterday was a fun day and I cant wait till tomorrow nite. Hubby had asked the musician to come to our house & play just for me, but he was booked up last nite, so he told hubby that he was playing a gig Saturday nite, so we are going!!!!!!!!!!!!! My best friend and I have been to his gigs for over 20 years. He is very talented.
  9. Once again, thanks for the well wishes. PURPLE and RED both, excathedra. Hubby and I met after work for a little adult beverage at Applebees, and next door is Denny's.. A bunch of ladies were wearing purple and red hats and dresses walking in Denny's. I wanted to go join them!!! But instead I had a fantastic "Key Lime Pie" drink....yes, that is right, a key lime pie DRINK!!! OMG, it is soooooo gooooood.... Yeah, Kevlar, I guess you are right about nobody believing that I am 50, 'cause I can't even believe it. Linda, you are so sweet. Hard to believe that it has been two years since that picture was taken. Actually two years next month, poolside at my niece's wedding at my house in Memphis. Shell, David, Kathy, Sudossuda, Moony (love the hat and the baby!!), Dot, Tom, THANKS again for making my birthday even more special.
  10. OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all are just wonderful. It is hard to believe that I hit the BIG 50 today!!!!!!!! My sister is taking me to lunch, and hubby is taking me to see my favorite local entertainer Saturday nite with a group of friends. I have recieved beautiful cards and gifts, one being a '50' pin that I have to wear all day, according to the giver!!! AND fantastic greetings and well wishes from some of the best people in the world!!! THANK YOU so much!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. nowgrown, welcome. You did good by reading lots of threads before you posted. It helps to get a feel and an overview before you jump in!!! Anyway, I still believe that the Bible is true. I have believed that since a little girl. Don't let bad things make you doubt your beliefs in the Bible. God is still our sufficiency. Since walking away from twi after 19 years being involved, I no longer accept the things I was taught in twi, but I still believe what I was taught as a child growing up in church and a Christian home. I discovered Waydale and then Greasespot 6 years after leaving. It has been quite a ride learning what I have about the organization that I gave my time as WOW twice, my hard-earned money, and everything else that goes along with attending twigs for that many years. Enjoy the menu and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Happy 6th anniversary of freedom to both of you. Your posts have helped me many times though I had never told you, so now you know!!!! Keep on keeping on!!! I would love to meet you two next time you come to O'boro, maybe at Moonlight Barbeque or Old Hickory. O'boro is really growing. Anyway, best of LUCK to your future. Thanks again for your faithful presence at GREASESPOT CAFE.
  13. ala, I had lunch today with a friend, who was also a PFAL grad from way back. She also mentioned about people trying to talk her out of going to college and of course, trying to talk her into going WOW, Way Corpse, etc. I filled her in on some of the horrors that I have read here and on Waydale. She was certainly shocked. Glad you went on to college eventually and are now free and UNCAGED. God, I love the freedom I have. I still want to get a degree some day. Take care.

    Two Years

Hey Belle. Great post and super picture. It was the year 2000 that I found out about Waydale and then Greasespot later. I had been out since 1994, but still believed everything that I had been taught. Needless to say, when I first found these sites, I read for hours upon end. Nice to put a face with your avatar!!!!
  20. A snippet indeed!!! Please know that your story will help many people see how stress, depression, etc. intertwines with health, good or bad. The road will get smoother every day. You are certainly in my prayers.

    We're back from camp!

Ron, what a great dad you are to endure all of that for your son!!!! I never went to camp or anything. Just went to FL on vacation with parents a few times, then of course, ROA's were a camping experience that I would just as soon forget!! Thanks again for the pics and the update. BTW, how can OK be east of AR????

  23. "I always thank God for getting me out and giving me a new life that I WAS SUPPOSED TO LIVE " Frances :) I am so thankful that you are at this place in your life now. God is good, God is GREAT. He is so much better than twi ever taught us that HE was!!! Thanks for putting your life in writing. I know it could not have been easy.
