  1. LMAO Song. I spose Allan that they would both be doing something by da spirit.
  2. Well, maybe fishy ran out of toilet paper and the pages of his bible were "easy to be entreated". I mean in spite of having the brain of a fish, he/she has a point....as do you. So why not discuss this a little, even though we've been down that road before, maybe there is something to it. While neither seem to be able to be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, all of us here in non-cyber-existence see a post from think fish and as of yet no post directly from hevean or hell. All things could be possible in the realm of unprovable existence and therefore "....ing on the epistles" could in fact be the appropriate response. Your offense is not defense...neither is anything else seeing that no claim is at all provable in an absolute sense.
  3. From what I remember, OM, to your God a thousand years is as a day and a day as a thousand years. So what does that make 30yrs? Nothing. To the God of the Bible it is as if it just happened. I would also suggest that it is impossible for a being that is all knowing, all powerful, omni-present, and most importantly infinite to become preoccupied with anything. Perhaps your God is none of these things? Perhaps yours is one that others here have suggested? Those sins would certainly not be a concern of his. or nothing
  4. "Beautiful Oh-God Please No" was not the only song they changed the words to. There are numerous songs in the singalongtheway book that were altered a bit to fit the doctrine.
  5. Was browsing through the TWIt website and came across this paid advertisement again and thought I would bring this thread up top again. When this first aired and many here heroicly sprang into action we thought that there would be egg on twi's collective face, but it seems we were wrong. The most we did was inform MSNBC about their faulty evaluation process. TWI still has this on their site and it is still plugged as a positive endorsement: So inspite of our speedy correction they are still using it as positive press. So I have a suggestion...perhaps we could have something about this on the main page to combat their false claim of being picked #1 after a rigorous selection process. There needs to be information about this easily available for both the Way curious and the uninformed innie to discover without spending hours in the archives or coming across it by chance. I also wonder if anyone had documented info on TWI paying for this "ad". I also thought that someone said the producer had said twi wouldn't be allowed to play it again. I can see how they would have a right to do so, though, if they paid for it. All of this needs to be more readily available for the lurkers around here to show yet another way that TWI has purposely twisted the facts to sell their product. Plus I would like to be able to discuss this with family with more of a position than just a post from some guy who knew a guy that said something somewhere.
  6. How's bout' 24/7 Reliable Affordable Towing :D--> Anytime Towing
  7. Do i detect a little sarcasm....I hope? It may ot have been "da Verd" that was being taught from the podium on Sunday, but it was what was being taught by example and at times in private. It may not have been from "da scripcha" but it was being taught in private by leaders on multiple levels. Not only that but it was allowed for numerous reasons, all of which are rediculous. One being the doctrine that if something evil was going on the local MOG or WOG would hear about it straight from the mouth of God. Second, as with many other areas, they felt that if you taught someone the Verd "rightly divided" they could do nearly anything with a minimal amount of training if any. "So what if you have never dealt with kids before, he is the Head and is coprs, he is the salt of the earth, he can handle taking care of some kids". "Any two believers can get married and make it work." Why? Because they are believers, they can do anything thru 'Christ which strengtheneth them'." While that sounds good on paper and at motivational seminars, you still need to be trained properly and be overseen until you are clearly compitant on your own. This was really a business being run at the locals but it was being run like a commune. Dare I say, like a cult. TWI was responsible to a degree and whether they were teaching it in the Way mag or SNS or not, it was still being taught on a smaller level to the LEADERS(!!!!) of the ministry and it was being allowed either knowingly or by virtue of neglecting their responsibility as "the Boss".
  8. Penta Water Tastes Great Buuuuuuuuruurrrrrraaaaap Oh excuse me. Less filling.
  9. From the looks of your avatar, GJ, they really did smack you silly.
  10. Yeah, as I got older I did come to realise that W. Cl@pp was a genuinely good guy.
  11. Oops I didn't see that there was a second page here. :o--> Seems I'm a little late.
  12. Would you have changed what you did way-back-when if VP had done the right thing is not the question, OM. Of course, not. He would have been doing the honest thing and we wouldn't have thought twice. The real question is would you have changed having known that he was purposely stealing other people's work and passing it off as his own? Would you have changed knowing he was being dishonest, a liar? Would you have changed knowing that in fact this wasn't "the truth" the way "it hadn't been seen since the first century"? Those are the real questions and are the real questions today for those that are still involved or still believing the same old garbage. I haven't taken a look into it but I would think that there were contemporaries of the true authors that had opposing views and perhaps even critisized their beliefs. We didn't know the real authors and therefore didn't know of any critiacl opnions to the contrary. All we knew was we hadn't heard it before and wern't hearing it other places...so this must realy be from da mouf-O-God. It wasn't, it isn't, and it never was. That is why this should be continually brought up here. People that are in and blinded to the truth need to know it. Not just so they can leave, but so that they can make a truly informed decision because so far they haven't had that opportunity. If this isn't going to change your day, great, don't read it, don't reply to it, don't click on any thread with the word plagiarism in the title. There ar hundreds of threads where I do just that and guess what, I don't loose any sleep over it. DO THAT, and I will award you the "You're all dun growed up" award.
  13. Ah, I thought some of is looked like something off a 3D program as well. I have done a lot of that in recent years when I went back to school for industrial design. I haven't realy played with it for more fine art purposes. I have used a number of them, but at home I use a program called Rhino. You can get a free downloadable trial version with 25 saves, but after that you can still just do screen copies. It looks like it might be a while before I find those pix. I believe they are on a zip disk probably in a box somewhere in a storage unit. Then when I find it I will then need to find a zip drive because I don't have one of those any more. I think maybe Kinko's might though. Hope I find them before I forget about this.
  14. Oh yea, I know what your saying, GJ. The time I got knocked out of my chair from a Bible to the head, the guy was all over me to hug me and pray for me. Then I got reprooved for pushing him away. What a freak. GB could be a real jerk. He is not the one in the above incident, but the guy was under his watch. GB had no quams about hitting kids of all ages pretty damn hard but he was especially hard on the junior corps. I think he felt they needed a "heavy hand" to keep them in line. I wonder if his leaders told him to be that way or if it was just him. I can't imagine Hendr!x or Cl@pp telling him to be like that, but then again I really didn't know them that well as a kid.
  15. Very nice Todd. I have played around with some similar techniques on Photoshop. (right?) It is reminiscent of some of your work on the site. I haven't put much time into them as it appears you have, but I have always wanted to either print them on a very large scale or paint the images on huge canvases. If I can find a disk around here with some old ones on it I will try and post them. The ones on our server are in PhShop and I can't open them on this computer since I don't have it installed. The idea came from jellyfish. I think they are one of the most bizarre forms of life on the planet. So I thought it would be interesting to use them in creating an image of a new foreign life form and have the viewer be confronted with this strange being on a large scale. I also wanted to have the viewer perhaps reconsider what a life form is. The life of a jelly is very foreign to the way we view the world. Anyways I am going off on an idea that is not at all fully formed or executed yet, but I will look for the files. I'd be interested in what you think. It isn't really what most of my work is like, but then again I am all over the place. Again, very nice work. I like the ones with the infinite geometry the best, but they are all good stuff and it would be nice to view them in the intended size and format.
  16. Don't know where or when but it was something VP used to say. Maybe as Hooner said it was more of a cliche from the good ol' days that he just said without thinking. I did always think it strange that if nothing good ever happens after midnight then why did he stay up so late studying all those years. I think he said he would go for just a few hours of sleep a night for days on end. and speaking of not thinking, what was up with all the mindless drones repeating that and making it a madate that isn't a mandate?
  17. HA! I never realised this untill I just typed that. All that "in the renewed mind, in the household" focuses on you and I. They totally minimize that agape is really about the unconditional love God has for us chillens (supposedly),the love OF God or eminating from God. Then it involves us imitating and reciprocating that love. (At least in terms of its usage in the Bible.) TWIt MOGS twisted it to mean that you could only love God while renewing your mind in the household. Once you left the household you not only couldn't have that love FOR God but God no longer loved you that way either. Not very unconditional is it? WOW! (Wool Over the Worlds eyes)
  18. Unconditional love. the love of and for God in the renewed mind in manifestation in the household. Don't think you are going to find that second one in any real scholarly theological writing.
  19. Perhaps when speaking to some of Jesus' contemporary Judeans (or the contemporary Christians at the time this gospel was written)the distinction was clear with the words "in prayer". In so much as it was already understood to them what you would ask in prayer and what you wouldn't. Perhaps telling the mountain to be cast into the see also had more meaning, but not so much on a spiritual level. Different peoples had different terms they were referenced by in the Bible. Perhaps "mountain" was a word used to reference the Assyrians or someone else. The sea could refernce "the abyss" or unknown, a death of sorts who knows. As you read other non-canonical gospels you see that at times they put in subtle swipes against one of the other schools of thought expressed in another gospel. We often read the gospels as "THE words of Jesus are in red" regardless of whether they are in red or not. We forget that they were all written long after the life of Jesus and the apostles. The hidden spiritual message may not be so spiritual at times and the letters may not be all that red.
  20. There is a lot of good advise here, but I wanted to stress this again. Don't discuss this with your leadership other than telling them you are leaving. You don't owe them an eplaination or anything. All you owe is love and respect to your family and those that stay friends with you after leaving, but still don't discuss this with them until after you have left and not until you are comfortable. Preparing yourself for leaderships fear cards is good, but the less you discuss it with them the less you will have to deal with. This is about you and your family and you need to approach it in the way that is the best for your family and will put you in the easiest state of transition. That way is not having to deal with defending your decision as an adult to a bunch of twit leaders breathing down your neck. Your local guys may be cool right now, but once the word is out that a fellowship coordinator is leaving that may change and I'm sure some higher ups will try to get involved. You shouldn't even give them the option of speaking with you. You already know what they will say anyways. I believe this is one of the tips that is around here on how to leave, or maybe it was one that the former Rev. Mosqu!t@ had up somewhere. IMO it is the best route, the easiest, and the most logical. It might be nice to do it on a fellowship night. Briefly discuss it with your fellowship and let them know that you will be there for them if they decide to leave as well. Again don't get into a big discussion untill later when you are more comfortable with it. Then after people have left call your leadership and inform them that you just had your last fellowship and let them worry about the rest.
  21. Then again if you are corps, and your husband agrees to leave with you, inform as many of your local wayfers of the truth concerning twi and take as many with you as you can. All before you tell your overseer.
  22. If you and your husband can come to a decision on your own before going to leadership, do it and then leave telling them nothing other than they won't be seeing you at fellowship anymore. Leave them with as little information as possible and don't discuss your decision with them. It really is none of their business.
  23. Be careful, if you value keeping your family together. Obviously, I don't know you or your husband, but don't under-estimate a spouses loyalty to twi. If you are discussing this together already, then that may be a good sign. Then again it may not end up in a good situation. Who knows with today's "kinder, gentler" twits maybe they will let you go without a fight. I doubt it though.
  24. B-52's "Love Shack" (baby that's where it's at) Next one: "I got my first real six string Oh, at the five and dime" easy enough?
