  1. I don't get it. I've never felt prudish about sex, and I don't feel my parents were either. Obviously my grandma wasn't because she had 12 kids and still talked about sex comfortably. We just never asked her why Uncle Jerry has curly hair--that seemed to spark a nerve with her.....LOL.
  2. Hope, You have good points, but I didn't suspect something bad when David picked the guy up. I thought it would lead to an affair since David was feeling so needy. You are right about the weirdo not staying in character. I, too, believe the whacko would have lit a match. I think the whole scenario will make David evaluate his life and what he wants. When he enjoyed the crack so much, I was just hoping he doesn't turn into a crack head. But I don't think he will go there.
  3. Tonight's episode was definitely extremely bazarre. David is luck to be alive.
  4. I saw it today. It was very enjoyable. I love movies portraying that time period and how the characters fight for their beliefs. It was really interesting how the church was portrayed, and how the characters who supported it were sorely disappointed in the end. I am a dummy when it comes to history though. I've seen many different story lines with these characters, Arthur, Guenevere, Lancelot, Gilahad, and whoever else was a part of the Night of the Roundtable. Aren't they fictional?
  5. LOL Herbie!!! Portland has the largest amount of wayfers in the whole state now. Corvallis, home to Oregon State University, was MA'd from believers living there because of the large population of homosexuals living there. Corvallis is actually a nice little college town.
  6. OK dmiller, You Bet Your Sweet foot I Do! Am I right????
  7. Oh, and can't forget a Mindsweeper from Coffee People!!
  8. Saturday market, McMennamins (love the Ruby), Basta's Mediterranean food, Rose Festival, Spanish coffees at Hubers, and the downtown Nordstrom Rack....God I miss that place! My favorite McMennamins is the one is in Northwest Ptown with the old theatre. You could get in for a buck and drink beer while watching a movie. Love the Widmer hefeweizen also!!!!
  9. When I first read LLPOF's post, I didn't even bother to resond. I truly believe vpw was in for the money and lust, not love. But that doesn't mean that every time someone who is riled up in protecting his legacy has to rile me up. If LLPOF wants too believe vpw sits at God's right hand, let them. You can't convince a man against his will. Remember the line from a famous move "If you build it, they will come." Well LLPOF was waiting for the challenges. Do you think LLPOF actually believed they would change people to be vpw supporters? Do we actually think we can change vpw supporters to be like us? Depends on the individual. I was an apologist when I first came on this forum, but I was open to hear what people had to say because I knew it stunk a lot in twitville. I guess what I'm getting at is that we shouldn't get our shorts in a wad or our panties twisted just because someone says something with which we disagree. There are a lot of us who want to expose the treachery of twi, but we don't have to get riled up about it. Just because somoeone thinks a certain way or says something doesn't mean it is so. That is why I don't even bother with Mike's threads anymore.
  10. Yes, I tell people unless I am applying for a job. Usually people aren't phazed at all about me being in a cult. They always think I'm so level-headed (if only they knew....LOL). I worked on Staff at twi headquarters for 5 years. I have 7 more years until I don't have to put that job on my resume. So I have to lie about them when I am in a job interview. Kinda sucks. The hardest part is explaining my salary I made there ($683 per month plus living expenses). I ask for wayyyyyyy more than that obviously. But the question does come up. I have to go in BS mode sometimes, and I hate that.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if the neurotic, paranoid loy boy reinstated a policy for them to carry guns again. I remember loy boy sharing at lunch about his glock (sp?) and how he had it in a place where he could reach it quickly. He even said he practiced to see how fast he could load it. I wouldn't doubt if he had death threats on his life, but afterall, he did have Safety (and their guns) patroling his house 24/7. Staffers couldnt' even approach the chalet unless they were invited. The only ihnvitation I ever received to go there was to do spring-cleaning. Whoo! Hoo!
  12. I don't know about 1978, but now they call them the Safety Department. They tote guns and radar. I saw one guy with a radar gun to see how fast people were speeding in and out of the OSC from breakfast one morning. They will approach anyone they don't recognize or who they know isn't still fellowshipping with twi. I know the head Safety guy has a link with the local sherrif department also. He told some stories at lunch time once about things that happened with the sherrif regarding twi. One was a lady who was caught stealing TVs. She told the sherrif she was with twi. Turns out she was ex-twi. One guy was pulled over by the sherrif for throwing trash out his window near the auditorium. The guy told the sherrif he didn't agree with twi. The sherrif used his NRA sticker agains him by asking him if he believed in the constitution. The guy said yes, and the sherrif told him if he believed in the right to bear arms he had to believe in freedom of religion. Even the "unbelieving" sherrif stood ground for twi......hmmmmmm......things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm
  13. ((((Digger)))) My heart and prayers are with you. I am sorry you had to put up with that kind of treatment. It is completely and totally wrong.
  14. Pot smokers? I was born and raised there (yes, I am a webfoot), and I don't think the pot-smoking population is any different than anywhere else in the country. But the beauty of the Pacific Northwest is like nowhere else in my opinion. I really believe it is God's country. :D-->
  15. PS: It's moist there without feeling so much humidity. That's good for younger looking skin....LOL BTW: I NEVER used an umbrella while I was there. Everyone thinks it rains all the time, but it is really overcast a lot with occasional misting.
  16. Shelbert, Oregon is my home state also. I love that place, and I hope to move back there some day! I LOVE Portland!!! It is an awesome city! I think it's big enough without being too big. And there's some something about the Pacific Northwest. It has a flare all it's own. I haven't lived there since 1996, but it was very affordable back then.
  17. dmiller, How much free time do you have? I see you started in December 2003. I have been here a year longer, and I don't even have 2,000 yet. do you need a girlfriend or what????? :D--> Just kiddin' ya. You are a good guy. I always appreciate your comments.
  18. Sorry you guys, I came into this thread late. I had to laugh when I saw the first impression Searcher had on TWI. My ex-husband was waiting for a prescription one day, and a man approached him like he wanted to befriend him. This man had an agenda to introduce and indoctrinate my ex on Amway. This was back in 1994, and I believe Amway had their own undersheparding program they started back then. When this Amway guy found out my ex was part of a ministry, he got excited and told my ex he would attend a public explanation of PFAL. I'm sure he thought it would be a huge expansion to his network of "friends". The Amway guy ended up leaving the public ex because he realized he was dealing with real hard balls. It was almost like he ran away naked and wounded....LOL....That was for you pfal fans. We all know how hard these multi-level marketing people can be to get rid of. I've lost friendships in the past because I stood my ground to not get involved. If only I had been so strong when I took that damn pfal class, but I couldn't even say no to the Kirby vacuum salesman. I would let them come in and vacuum, clean whatever they wanted, sign their contract, and then couldn't pay cuz I was a broke young adult....--> My ex-friends were trying to convince me I would have prosperity and everything I ever wanted out of life. The big dogs of Amway came to see how the newbies interacted with recruits and then "repoved" them on their techniques so they could win someone the next time. I think Amway is a cult.... I remember a line we used in door-to-door witnessing: "Are you interested in increasing the power of God in your life?" We had many say yes and give us a fake phone number only to get rid of us. Of course, we went back to knock on their door, but they never answered again. Geez, I'm so glad I don't do that crap anymore. Anyway, I thought that was a good example to show how determined these darn wayfers are compared to Amway people.
  19. Martinpuke's version of the sex class was called "Believer's Family Class".
  20. I guess you can find pretty near anything online these days.

I'm not a fig plucker, but a fig plucker's son; and I'll only pluck figs 'til the fig pluckers come. Say that fast three times. :D-->
  22. Belle, They stopped selling Babylon Mystery Religon awhile ago. I'm not sure if they ever sold The Myth of the Six Million. I think it's really hard to get that book anyway because of it's controversy. They didn't sell it in the bookstore while I was in.
  23. Maybe David and Russell will hook up. Russell sure was pathetic on the last episode.
  24. I agree. It's not that good this season. I think Claire will have a lesbian experience with the blonde chick. George will turn out to be some wacko (based on his comments about geology being controversial). Keith will start something up with a famous person and break David's heart. Nate will get back together with Brenda. Brenda won't go for "not normal" sex for long. All just my speculation.....we'll see. My speculation doesn't sound too enticing does it???
  25. I always wondered about that myself. Harry did empty his checking account to give it to twi on numerous occasions. If he were in on a scam, he did a good job covering it up from the IRS. If not, he probably got some legitimate tax writeoffs. Who knows.....guess it doesn't matter anymore.
