How much did you make in 1975-76? TWI BOT salaries are listed
Nottawayfer replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
I know of one person who was not even a trustee who got special privileges financially. They explained to me that they wrote checks from their Way Credit Union account, and it was covered. This person was not an over spender, but they didn't have to be concerned about their "living on a need basis" budget or work the mega hours the regular staff did. -

Definitely not. I think those attending the annual trustee meetings had special monetary allowances. Those meetings were really vacations with agenda talk. We saw videos of the annual meetings (one was a trip to the Bahamas). Trustees were smoking cigars when the Corps were forbidden to smoke at all. Yes, I saw RFR and DM smoking stogies on video. DM even made a penis comment about it. In response to the smoking, LCM said that rules were meant to be broken. I bet he didn't accept that excuse when someone didn't want to go full-time when he demanded it......sheesh. -
I have given money to people standing outside KMart parking lots or in front of stores just because. It does feel good. I no longer think "Get a job you freakin' loser." like my self-righteous old self used to. Earlier this year when at a Target, a girl approached me telling me she ran out of gas and asked if I had some change. I gave her a lot more than change. She was elated. I was glad to give it to her. If I were in that situation, I would appreciate anyone giving me some help. I don't tithe anymore, so I feel like I can help people who really need it. I feel much better about that than trusting some organization to spend my money.

Donna M. should be thrown out in the street!
Nottawayfer replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
We can all say that DM should move out of the chalet and stop living off of twi's money, but there is one aspect of DM that we shouldn't forget: her children. I was never a fan of DM; she just didn't impress me in the 5 years I spent at HQ. Those poor kids have been through a lot in the past few years. Uprooting them in addition to the crap their $hithead father did would be extremely hard on them. I bet even the children were shocked to find out what their dad was doing. I realize that there are several good people who were kicked out of twi root locations and had to uproot their kids. That kind of thing shouldn't happen to anyone. -

I'm sure those salaries don't reflect the extra benefits they got for being trustees (i.e., housekeepers, chefs, love offerings, etc.). When I worked on Staff from 1996 to 2001, I received around $680 per month. My housing (a room shared with another woman for 2 years, then my own VERY SMALL dorm room for 3 years), food, and utilities were paid for me. My W2 at the end of the year reflected a much higher amount because of the food, housing, etc. which were provided. I think the medical reimbursement was included in my yearly W2 also. Even with those things included, I made less than $20,000 per year. -
CW, you hit the nail on the head with twi teaching us to be sheep in wolves clothing. I had a Branch coordintor's wife constantly promote going out to just get laid. Just go get yourself taken care of--believer or unbeliever. Do whatever the H you want, hurt whomever you want, don't care about people, use them for your own pleasure......These Branch coordinators are now limb coordinators in twit.

We are a bunch of fuddy duddies in committed relationships?

Oak, It took some majorly big cajones to do what you did. Your story showed how twi has no heart and is weak in their doctrines and research of them. It just shows how they keep the doctrine of a paranoid a$$ who had no right to teach the Bible or lead people. I'm so glad you are much happier today. You are a smart man, and I always appreciate your opinions.

I knew the Sheeans when I was on Staff (1996-2001). They left HQ at least 2 years before I did, so that would have put them back in Indy at least by 1999. I am pretty sure it was Indy they went back to. I thought I remembered seeing Dave at the ACS in November 2003 with their older son. Darn, I hate it when I don't remember things so well anymore.....gotta go get some ginko biloba.

TWI teaching on Hell, annihilationism and eternal torment.
Nottawayfer replied to Cynic's topic in About The Way
I remember hearing him say that also. I think it was his own idea to console himself from all of the "cop-outs" who would rather never see his ugly mug again. He was rather obsessed with how people thought of him. I remember hearing him at lunch saying the spirit realm was thick because he knew the cop-outs were talking about him. --> -
I saw a novelty item in the convenience store a few days ago. You put a little woman-shaped item in some water and it grows large enough to be a girlfriend!!

Oh....sorry tomstrange. :(--> My bad. I apologize.

TWI teaching on Hell, annihilationism and eternal torment.
Nottawayfer replied to Cynic's topic in About The Way
I remember that only the Devil, his spirit kingdom, and those born of the wrong seed would get eternal torment. The unsaved would get nothingness. I heard something else that they would be at the Judgment of the Just and Unjust. I don't remember ever hearing if the ones judged "Just" would go to heaven. Oh well, it doesn't matter anymore. It will be what it will be. -
Oh my, are those some things to consider. Hope, had I seen that paragraph before I left, it sure would have made me think about my life. Since leaving twi, I've learned what compassion really is. Hope, congratulations on your time of freedom and descaling of your eyes! It's good to be gray sometimes!;)-->

The camera jumpiness was wayyyyy bad in this movie. The storyline seemed a little predictible, but it kept my attention. IMHO it seems it was left open for a 3rd movie based on Jason Bourne finding out his real identity.

Even though they were on drugs, wasn't the scene with Claire and her friends singing so corny? It kind of remined me of the Brady Bunch kids singing "I think I'll go for a walk outside....." George is an arse. Ruth made a HUGE mistake marrying him.

What Exactly Does "Being Saved" Entail?
Nottawayfer replied to Oakspear's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Yep, I'm a 'Zoner now. I miss 'gon; especially after hearing Shellon's trip there last week. I got married to a guy who is from here. I'm in the nowhere land though. I have to drive 100 miles to get to Vegas to do some decent shopping. I loved San Diego, but my husband gives me much more. -

OzGirl said the title of this thread was based on a song from Salt N Pepper. I like that song, but I really like what George Michael sang about sex: It's natural It's chemical (Let's do it) It's logical Habitual (Can we do it?) It's sensual But most of all Sex is something that we should do Sex is something for me and you Sex is natural, sex is good Not everybody does it, but everybody should Sex is natural, sex is fun Sex is best when it's (one on one) (One on one) [ LOL!!!] Now if that song can make it on the top charts of American music, I'd say we Americans aren't so prudish. We are considered prudish because a lot of us aren't in to getting naked at the beach. I'm just concerned about who else is getting naked on the beach. There are some freaks out there, and there are some that shouldn't be naked in public--IMHO. I went to San Onofre beach when I first moved to Southern California. There are two sides, one for sun bathing and surfing, and the other for naked folks. I saw things that scarred me for life--old men with saggy jewels and leather skin.... San Diego has another beach which is nude, but I didn't venture there. San Onofre was enough for me.

Shelly! Welcome back!! I had been thinking about you and wondering where the heck you went. Good to see you! I think 12 step programs are wonderful, but I, too, understand the ickyness feeling in them. My ex-husband was a crack head, so I went to a co-dependent group. It was the worst. It seemed like everybody was there just to bitch, cry, and complaine. I wanted to go beyond that, and this group didn't allow that. I don't think I was really co-dependent though. I never tried to hide or enable his doings. I sure didn't know what to do about it though. So I ended up divorcing him because he couldn't participate in the marriage like he should.

Quote by SirGuess: What kind of spiritual manifestations? You know my waybrain is thinking, SIT, interpretation, prophecy, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, yada yada yada. I'm a little confused here. Would you please explain what you mean? -
I don't understand the attitude toward A-O-Hell. My old boss had it, and I thougth it worked quite well. Plus they have online customer service, which I thought was the bomb. It shows great customer service because you can get almost instant help without holding for 15 20 or 30 minutes on the phone. Yahoomessenger has music now. I use that at work.

George, LOL! You have a point though. If someone is promoting God to get money, they are using God as an empty guarantee. I think about how many times I "believed" and nothing came to pass.
