WWJLA: I don't think Brian Bliss is in twi anymore. I think he split after the POP was read. I think the guy you are referring to is M*ke M*rtin.

That was probably close before the infamous fog years. Martinpuke scared most of them away with his "follow me or leave" letters, and he caused a major riff with the country coordinator of the country then-known-as Zaire. That probably took out a HUGE amount of people. Martinpuke accused the country coord of being a witch doctor. That CC was in pretty tight with VeePee, so he didn't buy martinpuke's bs.

does THE WAY have a person of God for this our day and time ?
Nottawayfer replied to excathedra's topic in About The Way
Excie, Martinpuke called certain old ministry things old wine skins if he didn't want them being used anymore. Many cliches and phrases such as "You gotta go to grow" was one example of an old wineskin.. Another example was that martinpuke got rid of the house of his healing presence. He said the whole idea behind it was no longer needed because twi was a stronger household, therefore it was an old wineskin and he had it torn down. He just forgot to include seducing women was an old wineskin category. -
I didn't know I was stolen. I flew the friggin' coop!!! If twitville is interested in getting new people, they should stop putting those damn boring music videos from their Anniversary service on their website. It's a darn shame. They love to sing about how all together they are, but they forget that without God they can't do a damn thing....now that's BELIEVING.....whatever.....

Renouncing The Word Because of Others' Sins
Nottawayfer replied to oldiesman's topic in About The Way
Why do we have to credit any organization for truth learned? If the REAL heart of teaching the Word is to teach people HOW to have a real relationship with God and to know Jesus, why does it have to be credited somewhere? The real issue is that a lot of those who were hurt by twi don't want to credit twi for any good. I am one of those, and I sure don't think God is unhappy with me for that. I've learned wayyyy more about a true, vital relationship with God in church in the last year and a half than I did with 20 years in twi. But those churches don't want the credit. They'll give it to God. Big difference in heart there. CoolWaters: I agree with your points. Great things to point out. -
Socket, That is too bad. If I were you, I would go find another place that better suits you. I went to a lot of churches before I felt like I found "my" place.

Oh, how refreshing! I remember being told not to walk on the grass at HQ....I couldn't get it. Wasn't grass meant to be enjoyed and walked on??? Just another one of those stupid @ssed things with twitville. The other big thing was wearing a coat AND a hat or something covering your head while I was there. I got reproved for running from the OSC to Founders Hall without a coat or hat in October. I told that person that I was a grown adult and could make my own decisions. The fact that I even had to say that was a shame. I heard people even saying that they got a cold because they disobeyed the rule of wearing a hat...... --> Where's the freakin' koolaid??? I guess they were hoarding it at HQ. Donna M. didn't wear a hat because lcm gave her an exemption from it. Guess how often I wear a hat now???

By Cherished Child Oh.....have you hit a note in my mind. Remember that STUPID song "True Worshippers"? It's all about twi being "true" worshippers because they speak in tongues. Once leaving twi, I realized what a bunch of crap that really is. I don't dis speaking in tongues, but I don't think it's our MAIN line of communication with God. When I pour my heart out to God IN MY OWN LANGUAGE, I think He likes it even more because I am pouring my heart out to Him and giving myself to Him. I love to do this through song. Praise and worship in song is my favorite part of church (even over the Bible teaching.) It has more connection with God for me. A lot of times I was left empty with speaking in tongues because I didn't understand. I didn't feel part of the conversation. But I really think I know what true worship is now. It makes me think of when David poured his heart out to God in Psalms.

I heard it in mannyfestations, so it must be true......or NOT!!!!

Ex-Cult Minister Turned Nude Photographer?
Nottawayfer replied to Nottawayfer's topic in About The Way
He makes it sound as if he's been in Texas since 1979. I know they were assigned to Texas during the "fog" years, but he definitely wasn't in Texas since then. He was in Indiana and Gunnison "The High Country" as he called it. And then I thought they went back to Washington State to be RCs until they left twi. I thought there was a big deal made about their leaving after lcm's big headline story. I think Harve Platig and Roman Steciw (former RC of that area) went to give twi's point of view on the situation. -
Ex-Cult Minister Turned Nude Photographer?
Nottawayfer replied to Nottawayfer's topic in About The Way
I thought so also. SongRemains: This is definitely for real. If you click on the link to his website, you will see pictures of him and his family. Yeah, I wonder what his wife thinks of those pics. Kinda strange. I guess he must really have a passion for photography. He's actually quite good. -
I ran across this while surfing: http://www.onemodelplace.com/member.cfm?P_ID=64876 Quote from website: Didn't I hear him say that at an Advanced Class??? hmmmm....interesting....

Remember the last time Oral R pulled a stunt: He spent days (or was it weeks) fasting in a tower unti he collected so much money or he would die.....Did he ever collect that money? Did he eat crow? I am leary of men who prophesy. Let's just get real.

I believed this my whole life. The only problem is that when I was a committed Wayfer, I was told twi was God's ministry and by serving in it I was serving God. That was a big fat lie. That was a way to get people to work for free. Thank God He looks on the heart, and He knows why I did what I did. Hopefully there was something beneficial in it all. I just don't see it yet, especially the 5 years I spent on staff..... -->

Music Concerts: How Much Will You Pay?
Nottawayfer replied to Nottawayfer's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
JohnUR: They did play "I'll Wait", but did not to "Beautiful Girls". Actually Sammy did a good job on the old VH stuff. The thing I appreciate about Sammy the most is how much he does for the fans. He signed tons of autographs. If someone threw something up on the stage, he would sometime wear it for awhile and then sign it and throw it back out. He got off the stage and went down with the audience. He's really personable. He didn't do so much climbing like he used to, but maybe that's where his years are showing. He looks really good though. I would never guess he's 55+. Actually they all looked really good. Eddie is very thin, but also very muscular. I guess he's always been that way. But he was smoking whle he was playing. Kinda sucks since he got over tongue cancer. You think he'd figure out the stove burns..... I don't want to see him end up looking like Keith Richards or dead. -
How big of a splash did you make when you left twi?
Nottawayfer replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
I don't think I left a splash at all. I just sent emails telling leaders I would not be attending any ministry functions or fellowships. I got an email from the BC asking me why and telling me how sad it was. I didn't let the fake sympathy get to me. I don't think they expected it, but I don't think they miss me. I sure don't miss them, or at least most of them..... -
Skyrider, I don't think anyone actually asked for the reason as to why these two lived in rfr's house. At that time, some people lived with Mrs. W and some lived with rfr. They both lived there when I got on staff. They ended up leaving after a few years and went out on a field assignment together. That raised my eyebrows. Actually only one of the women was a reformed lebian. The other woman was a very attractive and feminine woman. I never understood why she appeared to spend all of her extra time with the other one who would be described as a big dyke. Anyway, they went on the field together and ended up leaving twi. They were running a class and were full-time kork. They left all of the materials for running the class at the person's house where the class was, and did not contact anyone nor did they want to be contacted. You can imagine the spew that came from the big forehead at lunchtime. He was fuming and ....ed off in a HUGE way. I didn't understand why it would be any different had anyone else done that. As a matter of fact, I know of a limb coordinator who left in the middle of the night to never be contacted again. We didn't hear about that at lunch. I just wonder if these two had "stuff" on lcm, and they just covered for each other.
-
Oh, you hit the big fat nail right on the head. I heard comments from kork at HQ that people were now free to get in relationships because lcm was gone and not spiritually in charge. I guess lcm's bad karma affected the whole household. I think God is a bigger God than that. You just have to get out of twi to actually see it. They truly do believe all the problems left with him. Isn't it so ironic that they were singing his praises up to the day they had to give him the boot? The bod kept him on his pedestal for a WHOLE FREAKIN' YEAR knowing what he had done because they were there when he was confronted by people he wronged. Why did lcm's .... finally stink when the beloved ministry was facing trouble, not just lcm? It's all a farce and big fat lie right down from the teachings to the mogfat BS.

Music Concerts: How Much Will You Pay?
Nottawayfer replied to Nottawayfer's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Well, I went to see Van Halen last night in Vegas. It was awesome!! I am so glad to see them back together; it was like Sammy never left. The whole thing started with "Eruption". That is so classic VH, and it was a great beginning. Every one had their own solo. Michael Anthony did his solo with his Jack Daniels bass. Of course, he had his small JD bottle he pulled out of the guitar and threw out to the audience, and he had his own bottle he was chugging (ugggghhhh!). Alex Van Halen put on quite a drum solo, and can he play fast and furious. Sammy did his own solo with some of his old stuff. He played guitar and sang "When Eagles Fly." And then there was the god of guitars, Eddie Van Halen. That guy can play, and his solo was at least 20 minutes. He loves to play, and you can tell he must do this stuff for hours each day. They played a lot of old VH stuff, and I have to say that Sammy sings the songs better than DLR ever did. Michael Anthony was piping in on "Somebody get me a Doctor!" They came back for two encores, and then invited everybody to go party at Sammy's bar in Vegas. We didn't go. I'm sure there were more headed that way than the place can hold. Maybe someday I will make it to Cabo Wabo for Sammy's birthday. He is getting older, but he still looks good. I think he's turning 58 in a couple of weeks. -
I was on Staff during that class. I remember the couple and someone else getting the boot during that class. It was a big deal because these people were branch study group coordinators, and all of a sudden were not around to finish the class out. I found it very odd that lcm didn't have a lunch-time spewing about that whole thing. Afterall, you know the devil-spirit realm works extra hard during an advanced class. --> Martinpuke should know; I think the Devil worked in him in mysterious ways......what a freaking jerk. Sure am glad I don't believe that bull.... anymore.

The Perrines and Hoveys were still at HQ when I left in 2001. I thought the Hoveys will be at HQ forever. I don't think they will ever leave. I could be wrong; and I hope I am. Both couples are great people. You can call HQ and ask for them. I make calls occasionally to see if someone I am thinking about is still there.
-
Well, I've encouraged a few to call HQ or Gunnison if they wanted to know if someone was still there. I called HQ today to ask for someone I was thinking about. I was told they didn't work there anymore. That's all. Nothing else. I'm sure if the person still worked there, I would have been transferred. I called on my cell phone, and I made sure I set my phone to not identify my number in caller id, just in case. I remember when I worked on Staff, my ex-husband called me and left a message to call him. I didn't want to talk to him at all. I called the dept. head of switchboard to ask if calls were screened to keep unwanted people from calling. I was told that they were not able to do that. My ex called again a few weeks later and got me. I just let him know I didn't want to talk to him. Just thought you all would like to know what happens if you call HQ. I will try Gunnison some time and let you all know.
-
I think they went to Venice Florida after they left HQ. Surely someone has to know them. I really need to talk to them.
