Quote by Belle: I ran in to a few who were involved with this group. I never got the idea that they had stringent rules or that it was a cult. My understanding is that they are accepting of ANYTHING (religion, people, sexual preference etc.). Although that is not what the website says about them. I guess you get all kinds in every brand.

Good and Best....that was the biggest line of bull.... we were ever fed. I hate that I fell for that; thank God He made me smarter today.

IF twi donated money toward the tsunami relief, you know darn well they would flaunt it. They don't give out of a pure heart. They have to brag about it. Remember when they gave old ROA stuff to their local schools and areas? They had to brag about that....that was mighty righteous of them you know. --> Catcup, I love your analagy. It is soooooo true! Freedom in twi is a figment of twits' imaginations. They only believe they have freedom because they are told they do. Let them try to figure it out themselves.....God help them.

I live in AZ, but I don't know who the LC is since I left twi before moving to AZ. I know it changed from Sc*tt B*d*l*sky a few years ago. When there was a discussion about new assignments, I didn't recognize the name of the new LC. I'm sure it's on a thread in "About the Way" somewhere.

I remember at the ACS in 1996 which was held at HQ that we could not send in a check for payment of the registration. The reason given was that too many people bounced checks with twi. Makes you go hmmmmmm.......

Martinfail basically kicked Bayunga out and said that he was a witch doctor. His son-in-law, Andre Zakompani, ended up taking his place as the country coordinator. Andre lost his life in a car accident. Martinfail said that Bayunga was after Andre's life. I'm sure it was BS. I haven't heard anything beyond that. I heard Martinfail make these comments only a few years before his "dismissal". Last I knew, Zaire didn't exist anymore. It is now called the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

If you really want to stay in Cancun, I recommend Riu Hotels. I stayed at an all-inclulsive in Puerto Vallart almost 2 years ago, and it was the best one so far. Here's a link: http://www.riu.com/index.php They are kid friendly. The one we went to had a pool especially for the children so that you don't have to be around the spring break attitude if you don't want to. The hotels are beautiful, clean, and the food was very good for an all-inclusive. I think they have on in Playa del Carmen also, which is just a ferry boat ride to Cozumel. It is closer to the Mayan Ruins. If I were to go again, I would go to Playa del Carmen (close to Tulum).

I agree whole-heartedly. I've been to Cozumel a couple of times now, and I LOVE IT!!! I don't recommend staying at the Reef Club Cozumel though. It's not as nice as some all-inclusives I've stayed at. Although it is right on the beach and makes a great place to snorkel your heart out.

I definitely alienated my family, partly because I was so waybrained and partly because suggestion is tantamounto to a command. My sister was a "copout" in a Geerite fellowship for awhile, my mom was just a plain copout. My poor sister endured me ripping her a new arsehole regularly with my holier than thou attitude because she wasn't "lining up with the Word". She endured it because she knew I was following a complete lunatic, and she and my mom prayed for almost 10 years for me to get out. Gawd, was I such a darn lunatic too! They couldn't believe it when I called them to say I left. I've since apologized, but I still don't feel an apology does justice for what I did. I think where the H did I get off? Lordy! I dumped my ex husband for copping out. Although that was a wise decision since he was a binge drug user. I couldn't hack his life-style, so I used twi as ane excuse to leave him. We had so many problems before and had counseling, but leadership never wanted to hear the dirt. They always said read "Heirs Together" in Volume 5. Whatever!!! That was the worse advice I was ever given!! It didn't help one iota! It was covering over the real lissues!! What dumbarses!! Once he left, then it was acceptable to leave him. -->

I was looking at some videos from theway.org. If you watch "The Power of Pentecost", you will see Jenny on the back row on the right side of D*bra Olth*use. Here's the link: http://theway.org/Current/WayProd/ConcertHi.htm

Lindy, yes, Don W died of lung cancer. Surprisingly, it was announced to the staff at HQ. I don't know who else it was announced to.

Why is it that we don't hear much from ole Rosie?

Unfrigginbelievable....And they weren't exposed to the whole campus, kicked out within one hour of being caught, and then trashed on a STS? We know that's happened before to someone who it wasn't even proved that there was homosexual activity.......Mosqueda really walked with HIS god (martinpuke). -
Also, martinfart said that geer had familiar spirits because he and his secretary saw a devil spirit in him which resembled vp. --> Accusing geer of being possessed was martinfarts only way to get loyalty. It would separate people 50/50 at least. And it did, to his demise. He didn't win the popularity contest. Most arseholes don't.

He never did. I remember in 1983 when I first got in twit that he had to cancel a meeting in our state because he wasn't well. That was about the time he had the eye removed. In 1985, months before he died, we had 24 hours of prayer for him because he was in bad shape. But we were never told what his ailment was. When he died, we were never told. Even today, Howard Allen refers to Vic as a hero for enduring those hot lights from filming piffle. He said that they had to put cold compresses in between shootings. I remembered thinking "Why were those lights any different than other lights used in television shows?" We had soap operas and all kinds of actors under those lights for long period of time, why did VP have problems? Even martinfart shared about how he was sitting next to vp's bed when he was in the hospital and how vp ripped him a new one about ministering healing to him. Still there was no mention of cancer. When martinfart shared with the staff about don w having cancer, he didn't seem mad about it. He said that don could beat it. He seemed sorrowful for don. I was never aware of any riffs between them. Even up to the day I left twit at the end of 2002, I never knew vp had cancer.

Nice pic Todd! You've changed a lot since I last saw you, but that was about 9 years ago.

Interstingly enough, when Don and Wanda "retired", they got lavish gifts from twits all over the world (i.e. laptops). Don was in my department shortly after they got their gifts talking about all the things they got and showing us the laptop. I was wondering why they got such expensive things. Craig started the gift policy shortly before the Allen's "retired". They got baskets of cards. Big difference.

Allan, what were you supposed to keep your mouth shut about? Did you have information that the masses were not to know about? Inquiring minds want to know! -
Raul and Terry Tovar had been on Staff in the late 90s. He was doing Spanish translations in International Outreach. They may have moved up to the Toledo area around 2000 or 2001 if my memory serves me right. Bo and Rene Thomas moved to Kentucky after South Carolina. They were region coords when they moved to KY.

Interesting Point. I do know that when I was on staff, he couldn't refrain from complaining, bItching, and yelling on the public forum. Ask anyone who had to hear him at lunch year after year. If he was in turmoil, we knew it. He made many decisions under turmoil and hurt a lot of people. He definitely was not known for calming down after the storm and then making a decision. As far as Donna being involved in homosexual purges, I don't remember her doing this. She definitely spoke up publicly when she was talking about support for martinpuke when he demanded it. I wonder about her too, but I don't have proof.

The local police are men involved in the polygamist group. Everything in this city is involved in this group--the school superintendent, the fire chief, anybody who would be anybody in the community. The locals consist of probably 98% of people from the cult. They vote for who they want, and it all happens to be people from the cult taking these positions. There has been speculation that the monies budgeted from the county have been going to Warren Jeffs, the group's "Prophet". There have been accusations against Jeffs for raping boys. They believe in "bleeding the beast", meaning they will suck all they can out of the outsiders financially to benefit themselves. The women who are wife #2 and beyond are all on welfare. They collect welfare checks and food stamps. I am sure CPS is there a lot, but in comparison, it probably looks pretty good compared to a meth-hooked mom on welfare. That's the problem when they try to compare. Rape is still rape. Those girls are way too young to be married and having babies. The other problem with that group is they have kicked out younger boys to cut down on the competition for the women. It is a sick situation. Ironically, they have some of the higher tax rates in the county, and they do not send their children to the public school. I have been in contact with some of the men in this group because of my job with the Assessor's Office. They try to appear respectable, but I never forget these dogs are child molestors. They all have their houses on church-owned property. They don't get their property tax-free because it's based on the USE of the property. The use of most of the church-owned property is followers building their huge houses on them. If they leave the church, they lose their house because it's on the church's property. They really put themselves in a bad situation. I know of one couple from the group who didn't want their daughter to marry, but lost her to the church because the leaders talked the girl into it. The parents have been to the superior court and everywhere, but to no avail. It's sad, but they are the reason she's there. They tried for awhile to make it look like they weren't finished on the outside to avoid paying taxes, but the county smartened up on that and started making them pay anyway. Our office spends a whole week going up twice a year to canvass the area for property assessment purposes. It takes about 11 people to accomplish the work in a week. Some of them have pretty extravagant houses with restaurant grade and sized kitchens to feed the massive family. Some do not though. I am not sure how money is made in this community. The County Sheriff's Department only has what they call a substation in the area. I don't even think it is manned full-time. The Sheriff has enough problems keeping enough staff in the rest of the county. They upped the salaries to help keep the staff from moving to the local police departments, but it is still an issue.

CW, I watched it. I have been interested in this group because I live in the same county as Colorado City. I started a thread about it awhile back. Basically Dr. Phil told these girls that he wasn't going to tell them what to do. They are considering going back to Col. City because they miss their moms and siblings. I am sure their "decompression" time coming out of their cult is more difficult than even a lot of us here at GSC had because of the fact that it is their upbringing they are leaving and rebelling against. I really feel for them. Men are superior to women in this cult, so Dr. Phil didn't want them to look to him as they would any other man who has been in their life. I respected that about Dr. Phil. He also told them that even though he has studied the Bible, there are volumes of what he doesn't know and he would be the first to admit it. But he knows God is a loving God, and He wouldn't strike them dead for leaving. They encouraged people to give advice on the message boards, but sadly, it is turning in to a debate about Mormons and offshoot groups of Mormons. People are trying to protect that religion, and the real discussion is almost nill. I wish their moderators would post something saying that the topic should be based on advice or encouragement for those girls, not debate over religion.

Any ROA I went to from 1983 to 1987 was terrible--heat, humidity, mosquitoes, nasty water, trying to find a seat for the nightly teaching, waiting forever in line to eat or shower. I heard rumors of about 20,000 in attendance.

Way Corps paid as full-time staff - What was gained?
Nottawayfer replied to ChasUFarley's topic in About The Way
That whole scenario was a big mistake. LCM just didn't want it to go bad as he made the koolaid drinkers believe it was revelation. I'm sure not all WC got toupees though. I remember martinpuke mentioning one incident that some people had the audacity to ask for extra money so their son could take some kind of extracurricular classes--like jousting. He was fired up and p*ssed off about it. But in reality if HIS son wanted jousting lessons, they would be had by the lad with no questions asked. My thoughts on the whole situation were that if the people were able to pay for them before being made full time and provided those things, they shouldn't have been denied. I am sure there were scenarios from each end of the spectrum in that whole fiasco. Martinpuke ended up having egg on his face....revelation??? right.... --> It's just too bad that peoples' lives got so involved in it so personally. Quit your job; get off your arse and go get a job. What is it that God was saying??? -
I don't usually mention it to everyone I meet. But if I mention to co-workers that I was in a cult, I do it as a joke. It seems to work for me. People have been very accepting. I have never felt shunned because of people finding out that information. As far as having someone who understands, that helps a lot. No better place to do that than a place where people experienced it first-hand. My husband is my best comforter in my life, but still he doesn't "get it" because he's never experienced it and would have never gotten involved with a group like twi just because of the fact that they demand newbies to take a class.
