If Rosie & Donna... VP's judgment was how good?
Nottawayfer replied to JustThinking's topic in About The Way
Amen and amen...she was a tyrant and controlling woman. I worked with a girl who waited MONTHS for her boyfriend (who worked in the Bookstore) to get permission from Emogene to propose marriage to her. Emogene specifically told him to wait until she gave him the go ahead. And then she conveniently forgot until she saw them together one day. After that, she actually called him into her office to give him permission to propose..... --> Now that's a damn disgrace. -
I think teaching Kelly to honestly convey her feeling to the stalker. Things like "I don't want to be around you" and "Get away from me" sound harsh (especially to a child taught to be so nice), but the truth may help the stalker will "get" it. Maybe not, but it could make her go away. It may make Kelly a target for name calling, but only for awhile. I agree that if it doesn't get resolved, I would contact the Police. That may shake up the girl and her family if they get a visit from Mr. Policeman. I especially would do this since you've gone through every avenue to resolve the situation.

They keep telling me "Oh, it's a dry heat!" Well then put your face in an oven--THAT'S a dry heat......and that's what the Arizona summer weather reminds me of.

Sure, I will. My mind sure was blown.....from frickin boredom!

I have a crucifix on a wall in my house. My mother-in-law gave it to my husband, and I never took it down. I heard those were dog whistles to devil spirits..... [tune of twiglight zone...doo, doo, doo, doo]

I totally agree Hopper! :D--> I always liked that song. It had heart to it unlike a lot of the twi made-up songs we used to sing. I remember him saying something like that. Boy were we missing out a lot just by ASSuming we knew it all. I remember the first time I saw a praise and worship CD advertisement on TV when I was on Staff. That was the first spark in my heart that I wanted more than twi taught. It also was my first alert that I didn't have satisfaction in all 9 all the time (gag!!). What a damn farce! There is soooo much more satisfaction for me during praise and worship at church than any words I ever spoke in tongues. It feels like 2 way communication during praise and worship. SIT felt like me talking to the wall. Don't get me started on SIT w/Interpretation and Prophecy....we'll have to start another thread...LOL!

I attend a regular church. I tried different offshoots when I first left, and I realized it was twi docrine making me sick....you can be soooo right, yet sooo wrong. I went to a CES fellowship right away, and it was a bit religious IMHO. CFF didn't have anything in San Diego, so W*yne Cl*pp referred me to some Geer-ites. I went to one Sunday felowship to realize I didn't want anything that even closely resembled twi. The Geer-ites are Wierwille worshippers to the hilt. That's not me. It took me a few weeks to stop cringing when they prayed in Jesus' (not Jesus Christ's) name or when they referred to him as God, but I soon got over that by the true love of God I saw. I learned not to sweat the small stuff. It was only big stuff to begin with because twi made it that way. I went to a few churches before I found one I liked. Once I went, I ended up getting a lot of healing (from twi experiences) in a divorce care group. I saw a lot more people who really cared about practicing the presence of Christ than I ever did in one year while on staff at HQ. It was refreshing and just what I needed.

Wow. It sounds a little inconvenient and inexpensive (although treatment for auto-immune diseases can be costly too). What do the animals eat then? (alfalfa?) How do you find non-grain fed animals? Does this book have a lot of information on how grains contribute to auto-immune diseases? I'd like to read it if it does.

It's 2.99 at AM/PM to 3.39 (other places) here in Northwest Arizona.

Dilva, How did the new diet do for your patches of psoriasis?
-
Now, that's the first time I've heard that. I have been on antibiotics a few times in the past year, but I had no results with the psoriasis. It is really interesting to see what kinds of things helped people. I know one things can work for one person and won't phase another. I knew someone who took red clover supplements and it went away. I tried that with no luck. I also tried fish oil supplement, evening primrose oil, zinc, and several other kinds of topical medications. The only thing that makes it clear up is the topical steriods. I'm really hoping for good results with Enbrel because Enbrel works from the root of the problem--the immune system. The dermatological treatments don't treast the cause, only the syptoms. Psoriasis is not a skin disorder. It is an immune system disorder. Something in the immune system sends out an army to attack something that is not there. The result of the attack is skin cells multiplying at a rapid pace. Normally skin cells die and rejuvenate every 28-30 days. Psoriasis patients have spots which rejuvenate every 4-5 days. Whoever finds a cure will probably become a rich person. I'm sure when they do, the medicine will be so expensive that no insurance company will pay for it, and nobody will be able to afford it for a long time. I always watch for clinical trials to determine if I want to participate in one.

DaddyHoundog, I am surprised they told you psoriasis was allergy related. I know eczema is allergy related. I only wish my psoriasis was allergy related and I could do something to make it go away. What did you do to get your son's allergies under control? That is something else I deal with all year too. Quote from BikerBabe: I've never heard of EBA. It sounds bad (bubbling?) I will have to look it up on the internet. Is it an auto-immune disease? How do you treat it? I work with a lady who's daughter has Crohn's. She's had it since she was a junior in high school. Thish girl had been chunky (up to a size 18) because of oral steriods she had been taking for other disorders. Once she got Crohn's, she started loosing weight like crazy. She is stick-thin now. She now has Remacade drips every two months, and she seems to be doing well on that. I have used topical cortisterioids, wrapped in plastic, and have gotten good results as far as the psoriasis looks, but it never makes it go away. It is a bandaid for a week or so. It has been very hard to explain this in new relationships. I used to tape the plastic around my elbows. I did this when I first got married, and my poor husband ended up with tape on his butt....LOL...I can laugh about it now, but back then it was a little humiliating. I've since stopped wrapping in plastic. It made my nightly regime (along with removing make-up, flossing/brushing, and cleaning contacts) even longer. I've never had to wear a suit, but I sometimes thought that would be easier than wrapping in plastic. I had considered methotrexate, and even cyclosporin, but the side effects of those drugs are extremely harsh on internal organs, especially the liver. I don't think Enbrel is as harsh, but it could be so new that they really don't know long term side effects. It really sucks that so many drugs (even ibuprofen) take one thing away and give you something else. I guess it's a matter of picking your poison. I've tried the sun without any results. I lived in sunny areas for the last 4 years. I tan before and during vacations every year, and it never seems to help the psoriasis.

If you have it, you know it's a pain and an embarrassment for people to see your patches of psoriasis on your elbows, hands, or wherever. I've always been very open with co-workers about it because it seems to make it easier than to have people stare and then assume it's contagious. It's not contagious. It's a default in the immune system which tells your immune system that there's invader which needs to be knocked out. Only thing is, there is no invader and the results are scaly patches on your skin. I've had it for 15 years. Some people have remissions where they don't have any signs of psoriasis. I haven't been this lucky. But I don't have it all over my entire body like some unlucky souls. I am starting a new treatment called Enbrel. It is a drug which treats the immune system by depressing it. The side effects are less than some of the other drugs which treat psoriasis systemically. I know everybody has their thoughts on this, and they want to make suggestions. Trust me, I've tried them all from herbs to topical sterioids. There is no cure for this disease (it's an auto-immune disease), and it is not top priority for science to figure out because it doesn't usually cause death or extremely poor health. I'm not here to ask for treatment suggestions. I'm here to ask those who actually have psoriasis to share if they are using Enbrel. Anybody else out there have psoriasis or using any other drug would be great too. I'd be interested to know any of your results. I realize you may not want to discuss this on an open forum, so please email me (wayferlookin@yahoo.com) or private topic me. It would be great to have some support. Thanks.

Outandabout, What about his mother? I'd like to know what you read about her. I followed that case. I lived in San Diego pretty close to Torrey Pines Golf Course when they picked him up to take him to jail. I always wondered about his family. I realize that a mother always wants to see the best in her children, but when it is so damn obvious, sheesh.

I'm not surprised to know they are in the Pacific Northwest. They were the region coordinators up in the Seattle area for awhile in the 90s. Once you live in the Pacific Northwest, it is hard for any other place to compare. I'd hate to run into those people. They were downright mean and judgmental. I think they left only because once they realized that the crazed lunatic they worshipped was done for, they wouldn't be "stars" anymore. Their egoes were too big for this world. T*m's working for a hotel in the banquet area??? Maybe that will put a little humility into him--or not.

Moony, are you from Oregon?

That's some creepy stuff guys. I know I had some hard times on the WOW field, but I could not imagine living with a killer. It is amazing that not more people know about these incidents. I remember them sharing about not hitting members of your WOW family. I always thought it was weird they had to say that. But then I was held against my will.....gawd! That program should have been ****-canned a long time before it was. There was way too much crap happening, and it was a small trickle from the top of the heap.

I haven't tried the Califlauer mashed taters yet. I bought a head of Cauli yesterday, so we will try it soon. We really like the pancakes (oatmeal, cottage cheese, egg whites, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmet). I couldn't believe how good they were. I bought some sugar free seedless blackberry jam to put on them.....yum!! I also really like meat sauce on spaghetti squash. We are trying the recipes in the book, but we need some new stuff so we don't get bored. So far it's been about a month, and it feels like it's part of my life now. I'm not craving things, but then again, sugar free fudgesicles are saving me.... :D-->

Does anybody know of any serial killers or famous murderers who were involved in twi? It seems to me that lcm insinuated at this once when he was screaming about someone at lunch time once. He didn't say names, but he said you know who I'm talking about."

What the world outside of waybrain thinks about pedophiles

How long did this jerk go to jail for? Obviously not long enough. He needs to stay in jail. But in jail he should be tied up spread eagle on the ground with honey put in strategic places on his body and then insects and bugs loose on him (maybe a few rats too). -
I know we've sepnt time discussing diets here. I've had my ups and downs with weight in my life. Hubby and I are going to Mexico (AGAIN!!! :D-->) in October, and we are doing the South Beach diet to help us feel a little less uncomfortable about being in public in a bathing suit. We are doing really good so far (in 3 weeks). He has lost 14 pounds, and I lost 11 pounds. The first week was really difficult for me. The diet has 3 phases: Phase 1 which is stringent on any carbs (except fresh vegetables)to help get insulin levels balanced out in your body. Phase 2 allows you to add more carbs (fruits, whole grains, etc.) It is not a low carb nor a low fat diet. It teaches eating low glycemic index foods which help to control insulin levels. I guess high insulin levels are a major contriubtor to belly fat. Anybody else doing this diet? I would like to have someone else to share recipes and ideas with while doing it. I am too cheap to pay for this on e-diets...LOL.

Is this guy one who was involved in the fiasco with twi in Alaska? Was he a new guy in twi at the time? -
I didn't vote because I think they had most things right (like any other organization); however, the things they had wrong were extremely WRONG!!
