LOLOLOLOLROLMAOROF!!! :P

"I'm not defending Chris, but LCM HAD to villify him in the worst of ways to salvage his Presidency. There were people left on staff who had sworn his allegience, WC on the field and rank & file believers who knew of his endorsement of Cg and confirmation of Chris' allegations of trustee wrongdoings including the ATTEMPTED MURDER of Ricardo Caballero. I was up front at Corps week with my camera, as usual, when CG came in, interrupted the goings on and busted them with... " Excie, Attempted murder of Roberto Caballero. The sheet was wayyyyyy deeper than any of us thought! How come I didn't hear about this until now?????

Quote by HCW: "My dept Coordinator admittedly wimped out and refused to tell us all of the details. He said it was too personally shocking for him to repeat and that it should suffice for us that what Chris said was true and that the trustees had done "some really bad stuff." This P,O'ed me, of course. I wanted to know everything. I felt that if they had done some criminal stuff they should fry for it. He said "the word says we shouldn't take believers to court. I said B.S! We argued, I lost." I wonder why people were so hush-hush about it. When I was on Staff, much after all POP, and LCM's sins were once again aired, people were talking. I had WC friends share stuff from Corps meetings. I remember the quietness though. I dated a 17th Corps guys, and even that jerk wouldn't tell me anything. I was in Texas at the time. I volunteered at the Territory coordinator's house when he had Branch coordinator meetings. There were about 5 or 6 Branch coordinators. I remember lots of yelling and turmoil, but we were escorted to an area where we couldn't hear this. We were preparing meals and cleaning while all of their meetings were going on. I look back after hearing a lot of this and think: "Wow." If I had known the BOT had attempted murder and admitted to it, I would have made different decisions way back when. It's almost like living it all over again hearing all of this.....unfriggin believable. HCW, please feel free to share more if you have it. Quote by Groucho: "After I returned to my area, I reported to the clergy and told him what I knew and started questioning him...three days later, the entire area was told to "have no contact with me"...and the believers that I was living with ( a married couple) were told to boot me out!...Much to their credit, they told me I could stay with them as long as I wanted..." That is cool your roomies let you stay. I remember refusing to commit allegiance to LCM in 1989. My WC roommate told me I had to move. I said "NO, you move!" Nobody moved until they were ready to, but it was pretty shaky there. I left when I finally got married. I ended u kissing martinpuke's ring in 1992 though. After I got sick of CG groups. They were terrible. Not legalistic. Just flaky. IMHO. I attended "stick" (LOLOLOL!!!) fellowships for a few years in the San Franciso BayArea from 1990-1992.

LCM made himself look like he had been beat up by CG and others. He said he was on his way to resign from being president. Someone stopped him along the way to the OSC and said "God bless you, Rev. Martindale." He said that was his light that he needed to stay, and he got ugly after that. You know the rest is history. After that he and others said that CG had familiar spirits. His secretary said that every time CG had come to LCM's office she kept seeing VPW. It's all so confusing and creepy. I wished I could have heard the tapes on LCM's explanation on the whole thing. I'm sure I would laugh my arse off now....:)

Thanks Belle! You're a doll!

As some of you know, I live in Kingman, Arizona. There are good people here, but there are a lot of people who don't do much to advance their life-style. There is a HUGE meth problem here, and you can drive down one area of town and see lack of pride in people's homes. It's a good ole boy town with growing pains. You can call someone with a business to help you out and they will because you go way back and they won't charge you. But on the other hand, you have the "welfare will take care of me" mentality. Anyway, to get on with my story. A kitty was dropped off in our yard. This is the second time this has happened in six months. We go outside only to hear a little kitty (3-4 months) meowing of starvation. We take them in. but our dogs have never liked them. They try to bite them. So we can't keep them. The first one I took to the animal shelter. I was sad to do it, but I didn't know how else to do it. We put signs up for a found cat, but we get no replies. Since the first kitty, we found an organization called HALT who will take in limited animals without euthanizing them. We took kitty #2 there today. They have limited, but clean facilities. They asked us to pay $5 for the immunication of the cat, which we were glad to do (and donated more above that because we thought they were running a good organization). They require immunization before the animals can be sent to any other place to be adopted since the major amount of rescue animals created by Hurricane Katrina. This organization is just a local group of people who care about keeping animals alive. I really believe in keeping them alive to place in a good home. Right now, animals are taken as far as southern California to be placed in homes. The people in our area have not supported this organization because the mentality of most here is that they all want a dog and then keep in chained up in a yard with 3 or more other dogs that ended up being unwanted. It is sad to see so much of this here. Because of this, HALT has a hard time finding any who can provide foster homes for these animals. They have little support to take care of the needs of the animals. They are trying to convince the County to pass a mandatory spay/neuter law, but they are not having very good success. Right now in our city, we have a whopping 81% euthanization of unwanted animals. The US average is 58% (still high). They have a membership of $10 per year to help them with their needs. I don't know how they can survive on that personally. They also ask for people willing to volunteer time to help with the kennels they have and help socialize the pets so they can be adopted more easily. Hubby and I decided to help socialization of animals. Their wish list is to build a sanctuary for holding stray and abandonded pets for extended periods of time. Our local city shelter built 40 units in 1975 and has never increased that amount. Yet there are an increasing amount of animals as the population grows here. Right now our city limits is about 25,000, but it is predicted to grow to over 100,000 in ten years. I belive it with the building I see here. I really belive they are providing a good service to animals and the community. They put up animals for adoption on petfinder.com and work with other organizations in the state to adopt animals out. I just felt compelled to toss this out there for anyone who is interested to donate. If you are, you can go to this website: www.haltaz.org. There is a donation page there along with other information about this organization. Thanks for lending an ear. Love, WayferNot!

Sickness is a part of our life whether we like it or not. To say it is death in part is completely ludricous! That's like saying the glass is half empty. Prov. 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Whoa! That is a great summation Groucho! I really believe VPW wanted to be worshipped and adored. He wanted to be top dog: servants, money, trips, respect, and don't forget...women! It kills me how much was given to him and other leadership because we trained to do so. Lay our wealth at the apostles' feet. Was that taken out of concept or what? Sorry Anyway, the MOG idea isn't for today. Obviously the previous learning in the OT showed it didn't. Those who want power and money declare themselves that way. I'm sure it started that way in the RC church. It will start that way in any other church which adopts that same ideology--IMHO.

You are right.

I got my cranberry relish made!! It rocks! Got the pumpking pie made and the carrot, pineapple, coconut cake made too. I'm gonna frost it with cream cheese frosting. We will be drinking cosmos tomorrow--cranberry juice with goodies in it!! I better make sure hubby doesn't get too buzzed before he deep fries that turkey. We will injecting that bad boy with BUTTER and BUTTER and did I say BUTTER? Garlic too. Ron's turkey does sound absolutely yummy! I wonder what an acorn-fed turkey tastes like. YUM!

Ha! I wonder what Mr. L thinks today. He was major supporter of the lunatic during the fog years. Then when he found out the stench of the MOG, he turned. We were told at HQ that the L family was gone and that they owed the trustees apologies. Then we heard they came back, and then they were gone. It was a circus. It's like they disappeared off the face of the earth. Wayyyyy too weird. Just like the L*lly's.

Angela did go to BG when I was at HQ my last year (2001). Her mom is still in MI. She married a guy from HQ who was on Staff forever before he left.

I have sent some private topics, and someone recenlty told me they sent me one. The problem is that I haven't seen them. Where did they go???
-
We are deep frying our's this year in peanut oil. I've never had it, but hubby says it makes the moistest turkey ever. How are you making your cranberry walnut salad? I'm going to try to make one, but the recipe on the cranberries doesn't call for nuts. I've got to have nuts, so I'm not sure if it's the same thing I've tried before.

Gosh, I can't believe she's already 18. Where did the time go??? All of the Coulter children are very well behaved and respectable. I liked them because they were that way genuinely, not because they had to put an act up.

I never knew Becky to be in the Corps. I was on Staff with her for 3 years after her WD time in Chicago. Then she left to live in Tennessee to be closer to her family. Her step father had cancer and then died of it, but I haven't heard anything since. She left HQ either in 1998 or 1999. She lived with the BCs when she first moved to TN, and then she split.

I was looking through my Way books as I am testing selling them on ebay. I noticed on pages 63 and 64 of Mrs. W's book, Born Again to Serve, there is mention of publications by VPW and one is entitled "THE CHRISTIAN OUTLOOK ON SEX". I'm thinking what did he specifically teach back then? Anybody know? I just thought it interesting considering....

It's great to see both sides of the coin in owning your own business. Thanks for your honesty. All of my adult life I have worked in in the administrative field. I currenly work for the County Assessor. The pay is just OK, and the benefits are AWESOME. Hubby is a technical guy. He currently works for a company which provides television and radio service. They also build cell tower sites. He is the guy who drives a truck up in the mountains to repair the equipment when it has problems. He also does radio installs in police, fire, and utility vehicles. He is very detailed and good at his work. His pay is OK also, but his benefits are terrible. His boss does give him a good bonus at Christmas each year. He has been musical all his life. He played drums and did sound for many bands he toured with in the 80s. Being a technical kind of guy, he got in to recording. So the back part of our house is dedicated to his recording studio. He has some pretty decent equipment and has a great reputation with musicians in thea area. But he only does it 2 hours a night, Monday through Thursday. There really isn't enough work for him to make it full-time. He charges a lot less than other studios in the area, but I stay out of that. :) We are planning to move to Medford, Oregon, in a year or so. We will get there and figure out a niche. But here's some ideas we had for business: 1. Full Service Car Wash (don't laugh Act2!). Seriously I thought we could provide a great service for a good price along with some free Starbucks coffee, soda and water. I thought I could learn to do nails and do nails while women waiting for their cars to be cleaned. 2. Nails out of my home. There are a ton of people who get their nails done. I get my nails done every 2 weeks, and my nail girl is busy all the time. I set up 3 appointments at a time. I fork out $25 plus tip every two weeks, so I know there is money to be made there. It takes her less than an hour to get my nails done. 3. Alarm service. Hubby has the knowledge for this one. He could install the alarms and then collect a fee each month for the service. He has a friend here who does it and has been very successful. The town we live in is very small, less than 25,000, and this guy is busy all the time. He also has a locksmith service he shares with another guy. 4. Bed and Breakfast--we both have the personality to pull this off, but it would cost a ton of money to fix a house to be able to do this. We love to talk with people and hear about what they've done in their life. A B&B is a really relaxed atmosphere. To buy one in in Medford, Oregon, would cost around $1M. This would be a fantasty. Maybe if we win the lotto??? 5. Hubby would like to do the recording studio full time, but I think we'd have to move somewhere larger to be able to do this. I would support him in doing this as long as we had another thing to fall back on. To be able to do something you absolutely love would be most people's dream as a job. Since hubby is a technical guy, I don't think he would do well in real estate. I worked for our local association of realtors and saw many come and go in the real estate business. It takes a lot to be able to be successful. I don't know if I have it in me to do it. The loan officer thing really struck me though. Likeagle, please tell me more. Does it require state certification? And how did you market yourself to get loan processors to oversee your loans? I'm really interested in this. Zshot, I know QuickBooks very well. When I worked for a real estate broker, we used QuickBooks for the accounting part of things. I sent a file to the accountant each year for the taxes, and it seemed to work well. Do you think this is enough? Hillsbro, what is your business?

WOW!! I didn't expect to receive so much GOOD information! I have questions, but I need to finish reading and soaking this all in. Thanks you guys!

That is sad to hear. I know Steve and his sister, Debra, loved their step dad. Last I knew, Steve and Sherry were in Orlando. Are they still?
-
Hubby and I are tired of working for someone else and seeing our dreams farther away than we'd like. We know that if we really want to do more for ourselves financially, we need to have our own business. We've pondered a few things based on the talents we already have and things we'd like to do, but we haven't totally decided what it will be yet. Do any of you have businesses or know someone who has a business that is enjoyable and profitable without spending your life savings to get it started?

It's sad that it's probably true. I saw moneyhand's house in 2001. It was very extravagant IMHO. I couldn't believe that our abs was paying for his holy highness to live so well. I guess so many years of kissing arse paid off for him. I'm sure he has a nice house in the UK as well.

You should go wherever you feel comfortable and where you feel you are getting what you want out of church.

Why is the trinity such a big deal?
Nottawayfer replied to def59's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I couldn't agree more. Tolerance was a BAD word in twi. Yet tolerance has afforded me much freedom since leaving twi. I don't feel I've sacrificed my integrity by becoming so tolerant. I know there are extremists on both sides, and where does it get them? Usually feeling mad, hateful, and unforgiving.....like we need more of that in this world. After leaving twi, I considered that all I was taught may not have been correct. The Trinity was the huge issue in my mind when I first left. As a matter of fact, that issue alone caused me a lot of mental torment because I knew any church I went to (beside JWs and other mentioned) would believe JC was God. A lot of the Trinitarians I met and watched were the most loving people I ever encountered. I think it was because they had a true relationship with their Savior and had compassion for people. I just know when I was so staunch in my beliefs, I had little compassion in my heart. I haven't run in to many JWs who are so compassionate. As a matter of fact, most JWs I've encountered remind me a lot of wayfers. Is it because they are so uptight about holding the "truth" that nothing else matters? -
I'm closer with my family, but we are trying to move closer to my mom and dad. My sister and her husband are trying to also. My mom still has a major case of waybrain even thought it's been 20 years since she's been out of twi. Sometimes I have to really hold my tongue because of her way with twi-isms. It makes me ill some times. When she says "I'm believing for...." I always ask her how she's going to believe it in to action, especially when it has something to do with someone's freedom of will (I'm talking about my brother is has constantly been in trouble in his life). But my mom is 60 and my dad is 68. I want to spend time around them before they get too old to enjoy it. I don't want to go through life with regrets about not spending enough time with my family. I was away from them too long while I stayed in twi.. My sister and I are really close. She was waiting for me to leave twi, and she was not judgmental of me when I was still in. I think that left a door wide open for me to seek her when I was ready to leave. Thanks sis! I love you!
