Andreas' First B-Day! 02/14/06
Nottawayfer replied to ChasUFarley's topic in Birthdays and Anniversaries
OK, Chasmom. I don't think you can ever hear it enough. That boy is darn cute, adorable, and precious! Enjoy your birthday little guy! -
How funny! I was sharing about my cult experience with one of my husband's friends last night. I summed it all as "They are Bible worshippers. There's no relationship with the Lord taught." I do believe knowing the Bible is beneficial, but I do not think it deservest he pedestal twi gives it.

Quote by Bliss: "When is it "thy will be done" Lord, if we are all too caught up in "believing" for something we want?" Exactly! Wayfers never wait for God to reveal His will. It's all about telling Him what WE want. That's believing according to twi. What a coput IMHO. I feel a lot less condemnation when I stop trying to believe something into fruition. It's not up to me. It's up to God. Otherwise we'd all be rich. :)

What would bring you the most satisfaction from posting here?
Nottawayfer replied to ChasUFarley's topic in About The Way
The most satisfaction I could receive is helping someone to realize that God will still love them whether they are in twi or not. Getting over the fear of being out of "the household" gave me the greatest freedom. I also get satisfaction in hearing the great lives people are living outside the cult. Now I call that a TRUE witness! And we didn't even have to knock and any doors. :P Oh yeah.....I agree! -
Clear here too. It will interesting to hear people's stories instead of reading them.

Finding GSC/Waydale, finding yourself. What made ya look?
Nottawayfer replied to ChasUFarley's topic in About The Way
I had looked once after leaving HQ, and I got a great laugh of a picture of lcm's head with fat bastard's body. But I didn't dare look at the forums or post at that time. I missed Waydale because of being at HQ. My ex-boyfriend had been perusing GSC. He told me that there were major problems in twi. I chastised him for even looking at things written by bitter copouts. Shorly after that, I decided to look for myself. I was not happy and looking for answers about the so-called godly and abundant life I was supposed to have been living. I wanted to know what was REALLY going on. So I started posting. When the ex-boyfriend found out, he chastised me. When I brought up the fact that he had said there were major problems in twi, he seemed to think that that was all changing. AMEN SISTAH!! -
LOL! I heard a joke about Barbie and Ken. This lady walks in to the toy store looking for a Ken doll. She can't seem to find them, so she goes to the store clerk and says "I am looking for the Ken doll. You know, the one Barbie comes with?" Store clerk: "Silly lady. Barbie just dates Ken. She comes with GI Joe."

I think some (not all) doctors are too quick to write a prescription. I had some blood drawn in the middle of the day once at a doctor's office. My cholesterol was 203 at that time. The doctor instantly said I should get Lipitor. I said no. If I had a regular blood test done after fasting for at least 12 hours and had a cholesterol level over 250, maybe I would take meds but not until I did some things myself like: 1) healthier diet and exercise 2) eat oatmeal for breakfast every day(the real stuff, not instant or 1 minute oats) I would try that for at least 2 months and then see what happened. Then I would only consider meds if my cholesterol was still over 250. By the way, I think Smart Balance is good. I got hubby off of butter by replacing it with Smart Balance. He doesn't miss butter. It's supposed to be healthier. I don't use the light kind. The regular kind is made from non-hydrogenated oils and has some healthy oils like olive oil in it.

The teaching I heard about it was that churches who do it today "bastardized" the real deal. TWI said that in Biblical times they raised holy hands as they sat on prayer mats, kind of in a yoga position with arms out, palms up. I disagree with them totally. I equate raising holy hands while singing praises to God as a close experience to Him which is healing. It reminds me that He is there for me. It is wayyyyy better than SIT imho because it seems like a two-way relationship instead of a one-way like SIT is. Quote by Bliss:"Also, I think it had to do with "contoling your emotions". Unfortunately, many wafers ended up with NO emotion. There is a difference between, controlling emotions or having them control you. In the Way we always took the extreme of one.." That is a sad, sad part of twi. There was no emotion because it represented weakness. I enjoy song worship as a way to connect with God. Sometimes there are tears. Some tears are joyful, and some are sorrowful. I think I have learned to be a real person instead of a waybot through this.

We had the Joy Bus come by our house when wer were kids. The lure was donuts on the ride back home. It was done with a good heart to have kids get to know about God, but it does open doors to wackos. And we all know we can find wackos in church. My sister was almost 3 when the Joy Bus picked her up. She had been outside, and just jumped on. When we found she was missing a few short minutes later, we drove all around the neighborhood to see if we could find her. Mom and I drove around for at least an hour before I thought of the Joy Bus. We went to the church and found my sister there having a good time. But they had no right to pick up an almost 3 year old. This was back in the early 70s when parents weren't scared of wackos trying to steal their kids. My mom had been watching my sister outside, but it only took a few short minutes away that brought horror to our lives. She never let us leave her sight after that.

Happy Birthday wishes for Shellon Fockler-North

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO YOU! -
It seems it is that way all over most places in the country except in the Northwest. My mom and dad live on the Oregon/California border. They've had snow a few times this year like in the picture below. For them, hopefully it will keep them from having so many wild fires this summer. Here's a picture of the scene outside their sliding glass door from a few days ago. I don't miss it.

Making out in sixth grade. It's dangerous. That's an age where boys can't keep their hands off their penis. If they get a girl to make out with them, well......we all know where that leads. Making out is foreplay. Damn, when we were kids, we got foreplay all the damn time! In adulthood, it's a forgotten art! sheesh! Is that backwards or what?

I don't understand why labeling sexuality has to appear to be the forefront of who a person is. I've had gay friends who wanted to identified as what their sexuality is, and I've had others who thought it didn't matter what their sexuality was and never flaunted the fact they were gay. As a heterosexual female, I don't think being hetero is what I want to be identified first and foremost. I want to be identified as an intelligent (or atleast somewhat intelligent ), caring, trustworthy, and kind individual. Nope, I'm not kidding.

PDA in school used to inferiorate me because the girl who had a locker above mine in 7th grade (and again in 9th grade ) used to make out with her boyfriend in front of her locker. I used to have to tell them to move so I could get in my locker. I thought it was rude then, and I still do. It wasn't the same guy in 9th grade either. As a matter of fact, it wasn't the same guy throughout the school year. I wonder what she's doing now? I wonder if she thinks it's OK for her daughter (if she has one) to make out in front of the world.

It's not called butt crack anymore. It's butt cleavage, and it's considered sexy.

Galen, OMG! Where is the emoticon with the bulging eyes to express my shock! I cannot believe that girls would approach you to tell you things like that. It seems there is a HUGE amount of disrespect girls are developing for themselves. That is a darn shame.

Shell, I think there was a thread on that stuff awhile back. I'll have to look.

There was a guy in our town last year making a film about Walmart and it's "big box" way of doing thing and how that is affecting the mom and pops places because they can't compete.
-
Grow out of it? I don't think that would happen. If I had kids, I wouldn't want them to have sex with anyone until they were in at least a committed relationship. And then I still wouldn't "like" it. I don't think most teenagers know how to handle their emotions when they have sex. But the teens in this article seem to have a non-emotional tie to sex. It's a little bizaare to me. I think it could cause them problems with relationships later on. JMO though.

Walmart doesn't offer benefits to it's employees? I heard they offered good medical to their employees. I'm shocked!

heheheheh!! Cute Belle!

Damn scarey videos. I would NEVER want to be in that car, even after they revamp their design.

That is terrible that people lost so much at the higher-ups doings. It sucks that there probably will not be any justice served. I hope a miracle happens.
