Well I hope Texas authorities do a lot more than the Arizona/Utah authorities have. Arizona and Utah have put up with these people for 100 years or more. History tells that they actually went in around the 1930s and arrested them for polygamy, but that issue hasn't been touched since then. I am more concerned about the child rape and how tax money is handled.

I believe the part about the land is changing. We have attorneys contacting our offices to get help in separating the property out and getting it out of United Effort Plan's name. This would make the people responsible for the tax bills instead of the church. It was really difficult before because UEP made the people pay the taxes even though the church owned the land. The local school district is in Receivership right now. A guy from Phoenix has taken over and is reorganizing everything. I'm glad to see this finally happening as the previous guy was in the group and who knows what happened to the tax money which funded the district. I don't know about the fire district though. The same guy is still the fire chief, and he is a committed person to this group. I have contact with him monthly because of the work I do. It will be intersting to see how this all turns out. I hope our county's sheriff will do more to crack down on the things going on up there. The teenage boys--that is a damn tragedy. I've seen stories on the lives of some of them and where they ended up. Some were kicked out for getting caught smoking...geez. I'm sure it was just an excuse though. How can these parents live with themselves for letting their sons be treated this way?

Flora Jessop is a saint IMHO. She grew up in that compound, got out, and now dedicates her life to help teens leave so they don't have to mary at 14 or 15 and get pregnant by men 3 times their age. I have no problem with people wanting to be married to more than one person if all agree and are consenting adults. I also have no problem if people want to practice their religion in their own confines (i.e., a compound) as long as nobody is being hurt emotionally or physically, and people have to freedom to leave on their own accord if they decide it isn't for them. I do have a problem with forcing teenagers into this scenario. It is rape, and it damages them. Warren Jeffs deserves to have strung up by his cajones. I can't wait for the day they FBI finds him and brings the mofo in.

I see the Belizean offshoot selling books on ebay--brand new books. The prevailing word editions which means someone has to be getting those from twi. I wonder how they are able to do this since twi doesn't sell books to people no longer involved? I'm surprised they want to sell prevailing word editions since there were edits made to those books to accommodate the "new" doctrines of twi.

Wow, we do have a lot of different opinions here. I couldn't imagine going to a prostitue to get oral sex would be healthy for a marriage. I guess I am a firm believer that we live in a day and age that you have the openness talk about those things before you get married. What if that wife had more than oral sex with her lover? I was in a WOW family that did not eat peanut butter and jelly (unless we wanted to) or corn dogs. We ate baked chicken, fish, homemade tacos (we had Dos XX that night also), and many other pretty elaborate meals. Our family fund was $50 per week (times 5). We spent easily $125 weekly on groceries. We rented two apartments because there were 5 of us. This was 1984-85. We had 3 other families in the same town. We ran 7 classes that year. We were considered successful. YET, my WOW sister couldn't keep her legs together. She slept with 2 of my WOW brothers. One of my other WOW brothers was a drunk who hid a bottle of George Dickle in his boots in his closet. And me, well I COULD tell you about me. I just had too many boyfriends who always wanted to hang around but not come to twig. Of course, I quit seeing them after it was obvious they didn't want to come to twig. (Thinking back, maybe I should have left with one of them! hahahaha!!!) Anyway, with so much drama in people's lives, how could that stupid program be successful. The first mistake they made IMHO was putting men and women in the same house. They never got real about that. $*@! happens when you let people of the opposite sex live together. Attractions happen and then &$*# happens. What a bunch of dummies the gods were when they told the leaders our assignments.

I had stayed at the BCs house during Corps Week and ROA one year. I ws supposed to be housesitting for them, but they told me 2 days before that I needed to pay rent, food, and utilities for those two weeks. The day I got there before they left, they handed me a list of chores they wanted done before they got back. I brought my dog with me. My dog was small. They had a big dog. The two dogs had fun with each other playing. The last day I was there, I took my dog back to my house and then picked up all the dog doody. The next day the BCs get home, and he reams me for leaving my dog's doody in his yard. I told him it couldn't be MY dog's doody because I had taken my dog home the day before and then cleaned it all up. He proceeded to ream me yelling that it's not right to leave your dog's doody and telling me how rude it is. I sucked it all up. There was no thank you for the window cleaning and house cleaning that another girl and I had done all day before they got home. Ungrateful arses...... I wish they would try it again today. Nobody yells at me today. Just ask my co-workers......LOL!

Tbone, We were all hoodwinked. That's the truth, and I'm sticking to it. I was on Staff at HQ for 5 years. One day before the STSwhile I was ushering, I saw LCM walking hand-in-hand with another WC woman (she was married also BTW) in the auditorium who was also ushering. They were upstairs, and it was at least an hour before the STS started. They were the only ones up there at the time. I thought it was odd, but I didn't want to think evil. Now I know better. If it looks like a duck.... I don't care how godly you want to call it, IT IS NOT OK FOR TWO MARRIED PEOPLE (NOT MARRIED TO EACH OTHER) TO WALK AROUND HOLDING HANDS. During those times, we probably saw many things that made us think "WTF?", but we were too busy believing that we were living in God's household. The household doesn't do bad things to others in the household......yeah right. There was more going on than what I saw. It was a sign to me which I didn't quite understand back then. There will be many times you have "ah ha!" moments as you piece together things that didn't quite add up.

How you communicate with your spouse depends on the response you will get. If I am trying to get my husband's attention and I say "Honey, I'm going to bed. I hope you can meet me there." and he is busy, well that just frustrates him. If he's busy and I go in where he's at and start kissing his neck and ask him if he can come and cuddle me or whatever, that works much better. He will always be willing to drop whatever he's doing. If I didn't realize that my words could frustrate and make my husband feel guilty (like in the first scenario), then I could feel neglected by my own fault. And I could probably justify getting my needs met elsewhere, right or wrong. It's hard to leave a marriage even when you are miserable. If you are not satisfied and can't work things out, it is better to just get a divorce. I did everything wrong the first time. I had thoughts that I wanted to go find someone else just to hurt my ex husband because of his neglect. I could have done better with how worded things to him instead of being bitter and peesed off all the time. I never cheated with husband #1, but I sure wanted to.

I think Catcup had brought up a very good point about twi research. None of the people who were in the research department were schooled or degreed to do research. Just because someone can open up a concordance and put their twist on a definition doesn't make them a researcher. IMHO

Chas, FYI, we didn't even see a video of lcm admitting his "one-time sexual affair" or the time he announced he would step down. We heard it all via a-u-d-i-o. It just proves he's even a bigger WOOS!!

I forgave them so I could move on and live without the rage I had in me. I know that they will NEVER apologize to me or admit guilt or wrongdoing. We can forgive without the other person acknowledging or knowing about it. Forgivenessis a thing between the individual who forgives and God. IMHO...

I used to have recurring dreams that I was driving (not flying) plane and the outer doors were infested with rats trying to get in. I haven't had the dream in a few years, but it was a freaky one. I also have another dream where I am in a plane which has the ability to land in water and drive around like a boat. But then it tries to take off from the water and only gets about 100 feet off the ground only to creash back into the water. I recently flew to the SF Bay Area. That dream was in my brain while we were flying over the bay to land at the Oakland Airport. My believing didn't carry me through.....yeah right.

ckmkeon, There are several people who post on GSC who worked at HQ when vpw was still alive. They said they never had any problems with him. They also said they were treated with respect by him. But those same people don't disregard those who had bad experiences with vpw. I don't either. What reason do they have to lie about him? It doesn't profit them anything. People were hurt very badly by that man in the name of God. The Word was twisted to accommodate his lusts. I hope you understand better. Maybe you should start a thread about people's personal experiences with vpw. Your eyes might get opened.

Even if RFR knew of lcm's sexcapades as of 1998, why didn't she do the right thing and bring him before the church? He should have been exposed a long time before he actually was. She is just as guilty as the people she condemned at a corps meeting during the ACS 2000. A friend of mine who was at the meeting told me that RFR confronted the whole corps because many of them knew about lcm and didn't speak up. Why didn't ROSALIE speak up? She knew all about it. She wanted to appear she was taking the high road. I wonder how she will explain that lie at the bema? She makes me want to barf.

huh? ckmkeon, how will you make lcm and twi say sorry? they should, but we know they won't. rumor has it that lcm doesn't feel he did anything wrong. if that's the case, the weeping and nashing on teeth he said the coputs will experience may be something he experiences himself. i'd hate to be in his shoes. that man was a false prophet.
