I contacted Wayne Clapp when I first left twi to see if they had a fellowship in the San Diego area. They did not, and he referred me to some fellowship ran by people who run Geer's class.

I'd take the gazillion dollars and then leave again.

Johnny, Is your brother-in-law offering a base salary along with commission? I worked with people in the steel building sales industry. I saw them live large, and I saw them live through frustration because they lived on commission only. Some people seem to be OK in this kind of life. I also saw a lot of frustration with the building supplier (a large company out of Texas) because they seemed to deliver buildings with missing parts (more than I would expect). When the sales people called to notify the supplier about the missing parts, they said they looked at the video when the truck was loaded and saw the items were loaded. The sales people couldn't verify as they were in California. I don't mean to sound negative, but these are the things I know from my experience with the industry.

Ooops! I just saw this today. Sorry I didn't answer earlier. We have times where we visit a different church every week about 2 or 3 weeks. Then we end up going back to one close to our house. We like it OK, but we don't LOVE it. Then we may not go for months at a time (like now--the backyard landscaing is our priority :)). When we do decide to go, the decision is based only on the curiosity to check the place out to see if it could be our church home. My hubby thinks about going back to his old church, but they don't believe in singing with instruments. They just sing together. This is rather ironic when I think that my husband has been involved in music almost his whole life. I LOVE praise and worship, so I wouldn't be happy there. He likes that church because of the strength the church has in teaching the Bible.

I always thought Taylor looked like a cross between George Clooney and Jay Leno. Last night when hubby saw him, he said "He looks like Jay Leno." Anybody else see this?

I feel like I need two of those in appletinis please. And since it's spring (not hurricane season), I'll take a little white sand beach and carribean ocean too please.

When I see Shellon in chat, I call her Shelbert. I guess it's like a term of endearment. :)

In the end I don't think it matters that much who wins or doesn't. Those who really have talent will have the same opportunity to make an impression and show their talent. They can still get a record deal. I bet Mandisa does. I do like Elliott, and I LOVE Chris! I can't wait for Chris to record some songs!

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation

Hmmmm....I don't really think so. Never in my life have I felt so free and at peace with my relationship with the Lord. -
PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation
Nottawayfer replied to Tom Strange's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Well OK then. Those are some dangerous thoughts you have. I think that PFAL contains some truths, but it is not all encompassing of THE TRUTH. I hope you don't sell yourself short when you meet Him face-to-face. You invited me to come back and see what others missed. No thank you. I like broader horizons of learning than that. I tend to run the opposite way when there are doctrines presented with "this is THE TRUTH like nobody else has". I think there are different views and denominations for a reason. I like that variety. I also like that the denominations I have frequented can be godly to each other despite their differences in doctrine. That is the real body of Christ working together. I think you are one who feels comfort to have your package (PFAL) which is set in the bounds of your orange book so that you don't have to look elsewhere. You could better serve Him if you expand your horizons. -
I listened to part 1 of episode 4 last night. Although I have seen pictures of Abi and Shellon, it is nice to put a voice with the names to each lady! :) Shellon, I have pronounced your name incorrectly all this time. I always thought it was Shell-un. Now I have to correct myself to say Sheh-lon (Shelbert).

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation

Mike, I have another question for you. When you say PFAL is Godbreathed, do you mean it is equivalent or a substitution for the Bible? Please clarify. -

Mike, Thanks for your replies. I disagree with you, but I wish you God speed. -
PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation

Mike, I am in no way saying any of this in a demeaning manner to you. Because of how zealous you are about what you believe, I think you would be better suited to start your own fellowship. Then you could have people who agree with you. Wouldn't it be nice to have people that wanted to agree with you and share your same beliefs? But what would really be better is if you could accept that people could disagree with you and not be wrong or off the Word. It just befuddles me that you would spend so much time to try to convince people who don't agree with you. You might have a more captive audience if you stopped telling people they aren't doing God's will. I view it as YOUR will, not God's. God speed. -
Wow! I haven't heard their name for a long time. They were at HQ when I was there, but they left around 1997 or so to be BCs in Louisiana. I don't know after that. Did you try people.yahoo.com?

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation
Nottawayfer replied to Tom Strange's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Mike, Have you ever ran in to or met anyone who has done what you think should be done with PFAL? You asked: "Do YOU ignore the possibility that God Almighty Himself was telling Dr to tell us to master PFAL?" Yes I do ignore it because Victor Paul Wierwille used the Word of God deceitfully to satisfy his penis. If God really wanted us to master PFAL, He would have told many more than you because Victor has been dead for 20+ years. Here's another question I have for you: Do you ignore the possibility that maybe it's God putting the desire on YOUR heart to do what you do and not ours? Maybe it's just for you Mike. I'm not here to talk you out of what you believe. I praise God for whatever works for YOU whether I agree with it or not. If it gets you closer to Him, praise Him. I just don't think it's rigth that you tell me what God wants for me. He has a tendency to go right to the source in my life. -
What Constitutes Throwing Stones in your opinion?

Allan, Forget the rocks; I have a BIG boulder for you!! Is that the response you were expecting? (I am just joking here :) .) -
(((((Penguin))))) That's terrible and pretty typical of twi to not care or do anything about it. I am so sorry! That boy should have had his arse kicked HARD!!!! I shiver thinking about that....dang I was a naieve idiot girl! Back then, I would have never dreamed that's what they had in mind. Thank God my cousin showed up!

I actually hadn't thought of it Dooj. But thanks for the reminder! I'm thinking that it puts you in a place to totally trust God. I may have to go look this up and see if there is any origins on it.

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation

Mike, you term "all top leadership" when you say they failed. I always wonder how you know what all the top leadership are doing. How do you know they didn't read his written works and started teaching them? My other question is why is it so important to do what a man says to do? May God Almight Himself is telling them something else. Do you ignore that possibility? Please don't take me as attacking you. -
I was thinking back to some of my own experiences as a teenager. I remember being at a party (alcohol was present), and I was bouncing quarters with 4 other guys. They all decided to gang up on me and make me drink every time one of them made the quarter in the glass, which was every time. I was getting really drunk and not able to even bounce the quarter in the glass myself. I was getting kind of sick of the scenario as I felt I was being ganged up on. I told them I was quitting and got a ration of $h*t from them. Right at that time, my cousin (a guy and about 7 years old than I am) showed up and saved me. The moral of the story is that I shouldn't have been there, but why did those boys think that it was time to gang up on me to get me drunk? What were their intentions? Thankfully that situation didn't turn in to more than it did. It is a real thing in life that women need to be more cautious in situations to protect themselves. If I had a teenage girl right now, I would be teaching her according to my own experiences. If I had a teenage boy, I would be drilling it in to his brain that he had to treat women with respect and to never hang out with guys who didn't. I am sure there are a lot of parents who do this. The scarey part is the ones who don't.

Thanks for those pictures. They made me tear up. I'm glad to know that our presence in Iraq is doing some good despite all of the bad that goes on. I pray for those soldiers and people over there.

Just got done listening to it. Thanks so much Paw and all the moderators over the past 6 years who have endured all of the debating and moaning and other things. This place really is a place to go when you need to decompress from twi experiences. I am soooooo thankful for it!

I think it's important to understand why people are damaged. Something that was supposed to be godly was not. We lived in a dream world in twi. BTW, you shouldn't hate church so much. Not ALL churches are what you think they are. I used to think the same way you did when I first left twi. After I started letting God work in my heart, He led me to where I needed to be. It could be a damaged mind-set from twi which makes you think that way. Edited to take back the rocks I threw.

I think people who have learned from their life experiences, whether positive or negative, are the most interesting kind. It is sad that people are stepped on and broken down only to be kept there by hard-hearted family around them who should be helping them get better.
