Isn't it amazing that PS could go to a new area and run people's lives, yet she wasn't good enough to be on Staff or the MOGs secretary anymore? Things like that make me go hmmmmmm. What was wrong with the picture I just wasn't seeing? These kind of scenarios were ones that happened time after time after time after time. I know we didn't want to think evil of people, especially those in the household.

Remember the line in "The Way of Abundance and Power" which said "We're not going to drag those who kick and scream...." That was just weird. Thank God I can't remember much beyond that. Thank God for CRS....

Bliss, That's very interesting. I think the advice moneyhands gave his son contradicted advice given to people they led in Florida. hmmmmmmmm....... Do as I say, not as I do???

I got a call from overstock.com today regarding the email I sent the CEO. She said they don't do exchanges, but she would send me a UPS return to send the towels back and refund my money. Hopefully they follow through with the refund.

Goey, Most of the songs posted in the end of this thread are Way Productions songs. They aren't actually songs which were sang at fellowship.

Allan, Please do keep us posted. I want to know what's going on. I talked to an old innie friend today. She and I were best friends while on Staff at HQ. I haven't talked ot her in about 5 years. She was glad to hear from me but kept repeating how sad it was I didn't go to fellowship. I understand her mind-set, but I also know she doesn't know how to separate The Way from God. I plan on telling her I didn't give up on God, only an organization. Heck, if all that Allan says may happen, maybe my friend will figure it all out herself.

Yep, what Bliss said. She summed it up well.

That's men's work...... Really, my husband loves to do yard work, and I LOVE to let him do it. I have other chores.

I got some good tips from the link Chasufarley posted. One of them had an email address to contact the CEO. The person who used it got what they wanted. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Here's a dialogue I had with an online customer service representative for some towels I bought from overstock.com. Cotton is one of the items suggested for the 2nd anniversary. I was excited to find these towels. These towels which were compared to Pottery Barn. Has anybody else had this problem? Welcome to Overstock.com's Customer Service Live Chat! You will be joined with a chat representative momentarily. Welcome to Overstock.com Customer Service, you are now chatting with Tiffany. Tiffany: Thank you for visiting Overstock.com. How may I help you today? you: I bought some towels 2 months ago. They are shredding now. What can I do? Tiffany: I'm sorry to hear that the towels you purchased are shredding now. Tiffany: However, I will be glad to check that information for you. Tiffany: To help you better, may I please have the order/invoice number? you: Can I find that information online? you: It is order #27206444 Tiffany: Thank you for the order number. Tiffany: For security purposes, may I ask you to verify the name and billing address on your account? you: [Name and address given] Tiffany: Thank you for your details. Tiffany: Let me confirm, are you referring to the 'La Grande Egyptian Cotton 800-gram Towels (Set-of-6)', am I correct? you: correct. Tiffany: Thank you for confirming the product. Tiffany: After reviewing your account information, I see that you have placed this order on 03-12-2006. Tiffany: I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. Tiffany: I am sorry to let you know that it is beyond the time frame to accept return. Tiffany: Let me explain our return policy to you. you: Do you think it is right to sell something that deteriorates in 2 moths? you: These towels were compared to Pottery Barn towels. you: I would expect the quality to last longer. Tiffany: I absolutely understand how you are feeling right now and to be honest, I would have felt the same. Tiffany: I truly understand your concern. Let me assure you this kind of inconvenience is very unusual or rare. you: I bought these as part of my husband's 2nd anniversary present. It's kind of a bummer that they are not what was expected. you: I looked hard for something cotton and was thrilled to find these. you: and now it's a HUGE disappointment. you: Could you at least exchange them? you: for a different kind you have online? Tiffany: I understand your concern. Tiffany: You can return most items sold by Overstock.com within 20 days from the ship date. We must receive your item back within 30 days from the original ship date. you: But there's no consideration for something that is less quality? Tiffany: I really apologize for the inconvenience caused to you in this regard. you: The towels are thick, but if they are shredding on the sides, it makes them an inferior product. I see they are still being sold. Tiffany: However, the best I can do is I'll be glad to give you a $5 coupon to your account. you: No thank you. I will not buy from overstock.com if that's all they are willing do to. Tiffany: You can use this coupon as a discount on your next purchase. you: They should take these towels off their product list. Tiffany: I really apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. you: Apologies won't get me to buy from you again. you: I would think they would want to keep a customer. you: $5 coupons are a joke. Don't you agree? Tiffany: I understand your concern. you: If I had known these towels were going to shred in 2 months, I wouldn't have paid $5 for them. Tiffany: Since this a beyond the time frame we are unable to accept return for this item. you: I would get better customer service at Walmart or Target. you: Inferior product should be a reason to extend the return policy Tiffany: The best I can do is give you a $5 coupon along with a free shipping for your next order. you: Do you agree that this represents an inferior product? Tiffany: I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. you: If it had been 5 years, I could see shredding. But not after 2 months. Tiffany: Such an incident is an isolated one and is quite rare. Tiffany: I really do understand your concern. you: Then you should be able to compensate me better. Tiffany: Please accept our sincere apologizes in this regard. Tiffany: The maximum I can do is give you a $5 coupon to your account along with the Free shipping for your next order. you: This really sucks. you: You keep saying the same thing over and over. you: It sounds like a script. you: Overstock.com will NEVER get my business again.

It was 90 something in my town today. My husband planted grass last weekend, and we are seeing sprouts already. We are looking forward to having a lawn in the back yard in a few months. It's pretty rare for people to have a nice lawn here in Arizona.

Raf, Could you please explain more? I know plenty of people who left 1989 or before who are still Wierwille worshippers and don't regret leaving. My thoughts are that there are mores of those people. What am I missing here? Thanks, WN

Johnny, 4 hours behind the east coast? I thought Alaska was in the Pacific time zone. Nevermind...I checked it on the internet. I am a dummy. I didn't realize Alaska had it's own time zone.

Oldies, Wouldn't it be easier to scan it to a pdf file? It's a lot less work and time.

I hope Elliott wins. I don't favor his style, but I just like him and want to see him do well.

Belle: I think this group has a bigger "calling" than twi because it has been around since the late 1800s. The people are born in to it. It is very constricting on their freedoms. I think they are more brainwashed that twits are IMHO. I live in the same county as this group. I don't know about all assets, but here's what's going on with the property owned by that church. The state has awarded their trust, United Effort Plan, to a trustee which has no affiliation with the group. They are in the process of surveying all property owned by the UEP and awarding it to the people who live on the property. They will get their own parcel and will have to pay taxes based on their parcel. Previously, leaders from the church came in and figured out who was on what tax bill and told the people what to pay. I'm sure it wasn't their fair share, but they did what they were told. Sound familiar? Word has it that these people were instructed not to pay their taxes. They will lose it all if they don't. The state-appoined trustee, however, told them that if they do not pay their taxes, they will be evicted from the property.

If someone apologizes for wrongs done in the past, you can forgive; but it does not mean that you have to trust ever again. If a father is abusive to his family and later regrets it and apologizes, he can only gain trust again by showing time after time that he is sorry and changed. TWI can give lip service, but they need to show they are worthy of trust by action time and time again. Some people are beyond giving TWI that privilege to their lives again and rightfully so. TWI will continue to feel the consquences of their executive decisions. People need to be more important than they have been in that organization.

Obviously the FCs, BCs, and LCs can't apologize for any wrongs other than what they did personally. For them to apologize for what LCM did would be laughable IMHO. The only thing I ever heard along those lines what when H Platig said in a staff meetng that they don't condone adultery. That was the first time I had ever heard any opinion in that manner in my 20 years in. And then, it wasn't an apology. I think it was just for covering their arses.

Yes PZ was the BC. I remember the guy from Sierra Leone. I last saw him at ROA 1995. Someone else saw him at a Rome City ACS in 1996. He was a good guy. He had gotten married and had more kids. He was living near Houston at that time.

Johnny, was your visit in Midland anytime between 1984 and 1988? I was WOW there 1984-1985. There were several WOWs up to 1987.

Quote by Catcup: "My own personal take? Their coffers are getting dusty." I'm sure they are. And I think that's what the whole teaching boils down to. The BOT of The Way International need to step up to the plate. They need to do a public apology for all the wrongs of The Way. Then they need to "believe God" that they won't get sued over it. Obvioulsy God's ministry would be protected if they did everything according to the Word.....lordy!

I lived in Texas for 4 years. It was fun while I was there. When I left, I was ready to leave. It took me about 2 years to get rid of the "damn yankee" names.:) The people are nice. I lived in Waco (in between Austin and Dallas) and the Midland (west Texas flat, dry desert). Nobody in their right mind should live in Midland. As a matter of fact, I wasn't in my right mind when I lived there (I was under the influence of a cult). Actually I was sent WOW there. It's the most desolate place I've ever lived, and I live in the Arizona desert right now. If I were to ever go back, it would have to be Austin or San Antonio for me. $123,000 for a new house on 2 acres.....now that is dang cheap!!!
