I am sure if TWI had any tapes with incriminating things on it, they got rid of them. I'm sure many tapes from LCM's rantings are no longer in their archives.

edawn, Is there a possibility that the mother and her beliefs have a strong impact on the child? Does the child feel uncomfortable because of what the mother is saying? Hopefully the father has a good relationship with the child and can alleviate any wackos ideas from the mother.

Maybe you could borrow a drill?

I never heard of any "code". I was in TWI for 20 years. I left 2 1/2 years ago. It sounds to me that this mother started off as being strange and her involvement in TWI is making it worse. The Wayfer mom fears her child is in danger because he has to spend time with an unbelieving father. Common sense completely eludes people who believe doctrines taught like the ones in TWI. I remember having this fear formyself after first leaving. While I was on Staff at TWI Headquarters, we were told that we needed to go places two-by-two in order to have God's protection. Fear came over me because I had left the "Household", and I was no longer in God's protection. I was in a grocery store parking lot late at night all by myself. Once I started thinking logically, the fear left. But had I not left TWI, I would have never been able to come to that logical conclusion. When someone becomes indoctrinated with TWI, it is a hard thing to shake even when you want to. I'm sure many of us here on GSC still struggle with waybrain ideas. For those still in, you just have to pray for them and trust God that he will prick their heart to see the real truth. My mom and my sister prayed for me 7 years before I left. This child is in a hard situation having a lunatic wayfer for a mom. She even sounds weird for TWI standards if she is speaking "code" to her child. I met a few "out there" people while I was in TWI. The doctrines just made them worse.

When does it officially start Raf? I won't be vacationing in the Carribean this year. You people in Florida, the gulf states, and up the east coast are in my prayers. I heard this season is supposed to be as bad as last year's.

I was on Staff with Jeff and Melva Franks. He is a smaller man, not really tall or large with brown hair and eyes. He was a really friendly, nice man. So is his wife. They moved to Columbus, Ohio, after they left HQ some time around 1999. They were Corps Alum when they were on Staff, so that means at least one of them had been in the training.

Oregon coast.....man, am I jealous! I haven't been to the Oregon coast in almost 10 years. That is God's country IMHO!!!

Does he have a wife named Melva?

He sang "Spark in the Dark" around 1984 or so right?

TWI claims they have no mark and avoid policy anymore. I'm sure they probably still teach the same thing about devil spirits. You may get someone to copy their advanced class syllabus for you. Or even better, you could look on ebay to see if someone has one for sale. TWI doesn't report who their leadership is anymore. However if you called TWI headquarters and told them you were from Tennessee and was interested in attending fellowship, you would most likely get a call from the Limb coordinator, who is their "recruiter" (if that's what you want to call it). There is no way they will release information on who all of their disciples are in Tennessee. You would just have to get involved and hope they have a Limb meeting in order to see some people. I do not suggest you do this though. What's your affiliation with TWI if any? If you have none, what's your interest in them and their teachings? By the way, welcome to the cafe. Where is that waitress when you need a cup of coffee?

No, VP did not teach that Paul was a sex pervert. He attended a Sunday church service where the teaching he heard was blaming Paul of being a sex pervert. Remember his line in PFAL? When he left in the middle of the service, someone met him going out saying something to the fact that he wished he could stay for the rest of the service. VP replied something like it had been a disgrace for him to have been a part of this fellowship today. Yeah, he left all high and mighty. I realize that Paul probably was not a sex pervert, but I bet that teaching hit VP right in the conscience bone (if the story is true). I find it hard to believe any of his stories were his own. I think he borrowed many.
-
All of this makes me think about VP's schpeel about Paul being a sex pervert and him running out of the church service for the audacity that the man had to teach such a thing!!! I wonder if that really happened, or did he make it up for class material? There was definitely issues with TWI in the sexual category (i.e., masturbation the original sin; Eve was a lesbian; giving your Word and grabbing your crotch). I think there was common factor of error going on here.

A word of caution to those who would consider utilizing this site: Don't do it! Before I got married, I used this site. I met more weirdos on it than other dating sites. That was my experience though. Maybe someone else's could be different. I was just surprised at the people I met on it.

I agree with what was up with Toni Braxton. Was she even singing? It sounded like a recording and she wasn't able to keep up. She was awful!! Mandisa was a star last night. I enjoy her thoroughly and was disappointed as well when she got the boot. I hope to see both her and Chris make it in the music industry. Taylor is a doll and he has a great personality. My congratulations to him for being the idol. They will all reap benefits though. The true stars will see it even if American didn't vote them as the idol.
-
TAYLOR IS THE MAN!! I think he's cute, but I just didn't see the talent. I kept seeing his little hunch and weird dances. The golden idol which went to the guy who wanted to look like Clay Aiken was hilarious. When he realized Clay was behind him and put his hand over his mouth, I had to rewind and play it again a couple of times....... That guy was entertaining with his body movements.

Bliss!! OMG!!! You are such a badddd girl!! -
Uhm...Likeaneagle....what is 10% of 100,000? It is 10,000. So if your assumed numbers are correct, most likely 90% of the people left before 1995. It sounds likely to me.

MDV, Rosa-lie doesn't give up her authority that quickly. I know this from my experiences with her at HQ. She had been in charge of the STS for YEARS, president or not. I've seen her reprove many at rehearsals for small things because she is so anal about the STS. This was after she was no longer the coordinator of the auditorium. She didn't want to give that responsibility up.

I am guilty of listening to the lunatic MOG yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs about other people's sins. The problem was that they probably confronted him about his own sins and then he made them look evil because he had so much to cover up and wanted the rest of the flock to believe him. I think he actually got himself all worked up and came to lunch to yell about things to get to us first. He yelled constantly that we would rather have him yelling at us than Jesus Christ. Even back then, I thought to myself "No, actually Jesus would be much more righteous about it." I am wrong for not "getting it" back then. God was trying to knock on my hard head, but I wasn't listening to Him. I am truly sorry for that. VPW and LCM made their own legacies. Hopefully VPW could live with his. He can't make it up because his life on earth is over. He may have made his peace with God before then, but still his wrongs echo in this world and will continue to do so until Christ returns. LCM still has a chance to make his wrongs right. I really hope he does. -
Congratulations! I never owned a home until I got married. My husband had the house we live in before we got married. We've done quite a few things to it in the last few years to make it "ours". It's awesome to have pride in ownership and to know that you are building equity in some real estate. We enjoy our house a lot. You and your family will enjoy your house for many years to come. Best wishes for a new venture in your lives.

That kind of stuff is what makes my blood boil to dry red flakes... I think back to my own time on Staff and was guilted by my leadership and peers to not get a medical need met because it wasn't "necessary" (even though it affected me working 50+ hours per week) and cost $200. The royal treatment of the upper echelon in twi is just plain pure hypocrisy. They should be ashamed. I remember when there was a Trustee meeting coming up and some things came to our department which were hush-hush because it was in regard to the money that each person would be allowed to spend. Dang! That is sooooo wrong!!!

CKM, you words are very judgmental, assanine, and delusional. You are using God's grace in a way it was not meant to be. You worship a man. Your signature line shows it. If you really want to show God's love, you might show a little more tolerance instead of being so fundamentalist in your thinking. Your words reflect the same kind of hatrid as someone in the Talliban (sp?).

Linda, When you left your employment at HQ, was that when you left TWI also?

I liked that song. But I noticed one difference when it was sang at Way funcitons. They sang it: God told Noah instead of The Lord told Noah. I guess that anothe querky wayism. I think it must have been about the trinity and the fear of referring to God as anything but God.
