  1. Watch for bikes, and bikes should do the same. I was in a very compromising position today with a big semi on my arse. The semi was speeding and then a motorcyle pulled out in front of me. I almost pooped my pants. I wanted to knock that semi driver on the head, and the motorcylist didn't make it any easier by pulling out in front of me.
  2. That was funny!! Right behind the prez's back.
  3. Welcome Watersedge! :) Don't be afraid to say anything. We are all a bunch of people here with different ideas and opinions. The refreshing thing is we can disagree, and we won't get marked and avoided (unless we are attacking people ). It is a far cry from our time in twi. I hope you find your time here enjoyable. It has been a great place for me to vent almost 20 years of frustration and know that I have understanding ears. Take care.
  4. If the majority agree to a meeting, then why can't it be held? Why is this guy the president?
  5. Skyrider, Don't forget LCM told singles over 20-something it is OK to go out and get yourself some. Remember the line about if he had 27 year old son who wasn't married yet? He wouldn't expect him (or anyone who is divorced) to wait to be married to have sex. My BC's wife went wild with that one. She kept telling everyone to get laid so they could stop being so religious.
  6. What?? There's music? I don't hear any. :(
  7. Seth you say the house is run democraticly all share equally in the power that governs the house and there are no bosses. But later on you say there is a President who decided there was no reason to have a meeting. So, who decides whether there will be a meeting or not? Are they breaking their own rules? Is this housing assigned or do you get to pick where you will live? It seems like a difficult situation. If you want advice, my suggestion is maybe it's better for you to let George and Vernon handle their own problem. Since you alread talked to TA, I would have told him his notes were mean and malicious. I would also tell him if he did't like living with a gay person, he should consider going living somewhere else instead of causing disruption in the house. He broke one of the cardinal rules by being disruptive.
  8. Thanks so much you guys, but it is not my birthday. Mine is October 26. Maybe it is the other wayfernot's birthday??? The one who signed up a long time ago, but supposedly Paw made them change their name because it was too close to mine?? I'm really confused even though I appreciate the thought. :)
  9. WOW!!! You are very lucky then. I wish I would have bought a nice-sized house like that for $275,000. I'd be California Dreaming the rest of my life....sigh...... :)
  10. Kewl! I'm an arteest now! I printed mine.
  11. Babylon Mystery Religion---ah! Thanks Bliss. I must have mixed the two books up. I couldn't read that one, and I never bought it. For some reason, I didn't feel compelled to read everything the MOGFOT recommended. Afterall, he had time to read and play golf all day. I didn't (ESPECIALLY when I went on staff and had to work 50 hours a week).
  12. You are lucky RR, especially if you own a house in San Diego. I left San Diego 2 years ago to marry. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be married to the man I am, but I don't like where I live. We hope to make a change in the next year or so. If the housing market crashes in California, then maybe I can afford a house there. I remember when I lived in the SF Bay Area in the early 90s. You could get a house for $100,000. Today you can't touch one for less than $600,000. It's all hindsite now, but I remember being appalled when they were $100,000. I guess I will always feel houses are too much money in the fun places to live.
  13. It's easier for me to type what I wan to say and then go back and highlight the words and choose the size/font and/or color I want. That's why it is a pain if you want several colors. You have to highlight each word for each color.
  14. I LOVE Carmel or Monterey also, but I think San Diego is THE place to be! I lived in the SF Bay Area. I like it there also, but you are right about the crowding. And LA, YUK!!!! I can't imagine the draw to that place. It is ugly and confusing.
  15. LG, Why does it bother you? I love colorful posts. It helps to add expression. But I agree with Jonny, it is a pain in the arse. :)
  16. LOVE that song on your post CA Dreaming. It makes me cry every time I sing it at church.
  17. Toppie, What the H are we doing in Arizona then? If I could afford to buy a house in California, I would be packing today.
  18. I knew someone who was classified a "celibate" homosexual. He had been gay, changed once he got in twi. He later got reamed terribly because they said he was still a homo fantasizer (WHATEVER!!!!). It hurt him a lot. He was a pillar in our area and a very nice man. It was horrible to see him treated that way.
  19. Dolover, Where was yoru believing???? You could have believed to stay in a local motel or get an RV. There weren't enough hotels in the local areas or enough RVs in the bigger ROA days to take care of the people. Much less, there weren't enough RV spaces for everyone even if they could afford to rent an RV for a week or two. It was a terrible time. We all thought we were doing it for God. Good thing HE knows our heart.
  20. I miss California. It was the BEST place I ever lived.
  21. I'm laughing here. Wasn't that completely ridiculous? My mom and dad came to visit me when I was on Staff. It was August--the best time for humidity and all. I talked my dad in to attending the STS, but I told him he HAD to at least wear a tie. He said NO!!!! He went to the STS looking out of place. I was embarrassed because he stuck out like a sore thumb. I laugh about it today though. BTW, that STS convinced my parents LCM REALLY IS A FREAKIN' LUNATIC!!!!
  22. My only contact with ex wayfers was when I went to offshoot fellowships after leaving twi. It wasn't anything special, because it was just like being in twi. That's when I realized twi's doctrine was the question nagging at me.
  23. I think it's on July 14 Tommy Strangeone.
