It's intersting about his comments when it's brought up that he's a cult leader. It's the same arrogance twi had when they were classified as a cult. BTW, cult was described as an organization with a strong, authoritative leader, and an organization who exploits it's followers. This "Jesus" claims everyone "should be" rich. He is rich because they give. I wonder what he says when they aren't rich. This cult's followers give beyond the tithe, teaches religions suck and battles against all other religions to the point they have harassed a catholic church in Miami. Sad. I'm glad I'm not brainwashed anymore, and that I'm smart enough to recognize BS like this when I see it.

I watched last season with INXS. I was disappointed they didn't choose Marty. I'm watching this season without really being excited about any of them. I think Tommy Lee is about as stupid as they come. If a smart word came out of his mouth, I would be shocked. But he CAN play drums!!! "I think that was sauteed with wrong sauce."

Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences with their own mental illness. It really helps to break the waybrain cycle and see it is really a disase like any other and that it is treatable. I think back to the lame-brained words of Tom Cruise concerning post-partum depression and how vitamins will cure it. Since when did Scientologists go to medical school? It's the same arrogance twi teaches about devil spirits. It's all baloney. People talking about it will help educate society. For the most part, I think people become more understanding and empathetic toward these illnesses. I watched an HBO special on kids with tourettes. The ones who shared with their schoolmates about the diseases seemed to deal with their illness quite well. I know that may not be the answer for everyone, but it sure helps those who are ignorant (like me).

I feel sad that there are so many in this country who go undiagnosed. I hope they can get help and try to get on a road to recovery. I only know from people who've been there telling me that is is a bumpy road, and they deal with feelings of "Why do I have to take medication to be 'normal'." My heart aches for them--especially if they were involved with twi. TWI did no justice to those with mental illnesses. Shame on TWI.

Would LCM still be President if the lawsuits were not filed?
Nottawayfer replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
Those of us on staff were told that the Allens were asked to leave because they made false accusations against the BOD. The Allens were made to be evil villains who were out to destroy the ministry. I don't believe that for a minute. That what all the departments were told from twi's POV. The Allens confronted Craig and his wrong ways. Hearing BOTH sides of the story put it together better for me. Craig still got to be president for a year after that. Why???? If the other BOD knew, my question is WHY????? Morality, godliness, or doing the right thing didn't seem to matter to twi until it became a legal issue. WHY ROSALIE???? -
dmiller, Anything you cook on a grill out west is called BBQing.

Awww Jonny.....Just knowing how you are, you seem like one of the few who did honor what your ordination meant. Had there been more men like you in twi, it may have been better than it was. I know you made a difference in people's lives just because I know how you care about people here. You are genuine. I like that about you.
-
Well, Abi, your reputation is apparent.....You are wonderful, caring, kind, and lovely. And like Tommy Strange said F Z!!! Z isn't worth the pot to pi$$ in. If I heard Z say or post anything bad about you, I would tell them "You are talking out your a$$hole because your mouth knows better."

I didn't know that!!!! I was in Midland in during that time. I had a friend from the 17th corps in Lubbock. She would hav just gone in to rez in august 1986. I had roommates in Midland who moved up to Lubbock in 1987. I visited them. You will have to email me to see if we crossed paths there.

My understanding is that Hawaii is only a good vacation spot. Not a place you want to live 24/7 for a large amount of time. Judgmental people like wayfers will find it VERY hard to live there.

I fill up when I need gas. I don't care which day it is, and I ususally go to the closest station. If there is a 10 cent difference, I don't care. When I am filling up my car, usually 14 gallons, it means an extra $1.40. Is it worth driving farther than paying the extra $1.40??? I don't think so. My time is worth more than that.

They only bother me when I see people driving carelessly with one stuck on the side of their head. Otherwise, let them do what they want in public. I love my cell phone because it makes it extremely convenience for to ask my hubby what size of kotex I should get!

You'd have to already know where a fellowship was and then just show up. If they ask you how you knew about it, just tell them someone invited you but you don't know who the person was and that they said something about a home Bible fellowship. If you don't know where a fellowship is, you will have to go through the higher ranks to be able to go. For example, you would have to call HQ and say you were interested in going. They would transfer you to the Trunk (The Way of the USA) office. That office would in turn tell you they will get someone in touch with you. That would be either the Region or Limb coordinator. They would "feel" you out and then tell you someone would get in contact with you about where you could go. It's not easy anymore. They want to make sure you aren't going to contaminate their precious household. If you just show up to one that you know, then you would have to make sure there weren't any who knew you or you would become suspect--maybe even told to leave until the higher ups OK'd you being there. Remember, you are no longer welcome at The Way.

Use a laser level??? Nah! It's works better by revelation. ;)

I thought Radar came on this thread to verify it is Jeff and Melva Franks, but Jeff and Melva Frank. And that the Jeff Frank originally referred to is somone different. Am I dreaming she posted this?

The ROA had plenty of immorality. Did you ever walk through the wooded areas? I did and caught several people doing the nasty. My sister brought a friend to the ROA. She said she had more sex at the ROA than any party she went to.

Yikes!! That seems dangerous IMHO. I know how those Harley lovers are when they come to Laughlin.

Last summer we had a temporary working in our office. She had eery characteristics. Ones just like a wayfer. It was hard to pinpoint, but my mental note to myself was to find out if she had been in twi. Later on I was joking about being in a cult. She asked me what it was about. I told her of the abuses and contraversial doctrine (i.e., trinity). She said they dont' believe in the trinity? Did they start off with someone out of Kingdom Hall? She couldn't believe another group would believe the same way. As I watched her mannerisms and ways of doing things, I couldn't get over how much she was like a typical biyatchy woman in The Way.

OM, you throw many rocks at people here. Why do you continue to try to debunk other's experiences while in twi only the save the image of the almight Doctor Victor Paul Wierwille and The Way International???? There was stench; it wasn't all perfect; and you know damn well that crap happened to people. If you had a perfect time in TWI, well good for you. But there are too many that didn't have a perfect time in TWI who were hurt mentallly, physically, and spiritually. You need to stop give them crap for speaking about their experiences and stop telling people their hate corrupts them. Hatrid for evil is not wrong. VPW was evil some of the time, and so were a lot of his cronies. Live with it!!!

Excie, if the grossing out is due to the ink, you can always go to where the newspaper is printed and pickup a roll of paper which hasn't been printed on. We used to get them all the time at HQ to use for packing. These were rolls which were toward the end of their use and weren't deemed big enough to use on the printers.

Nope, I'm the effin idiot. I didn't read the instructions thoroughly the first time and got a ZERO. The second time I got 100 becasue I read the directions.....

But as committed wayfers, we knew was the real deal was with "freely availing" ourselves. If we wanted to leave, it wasn't as easy as deciding not to freely avail ourselves anymore. Oldies, I know you were in a different time that a lot of us. Please keep my contents in context of the time frame in which I am speaking.

Belle gives great points and examples. The plane ticket for the girl give me shivers and makes me ill. I met my husband through yahoo personals. I dated pretty extensively online for about 9 months. In any situation where all you have is words, you have to have a good BS meter going. Or at least a good memory to remember everything they have told you to be sure nothing contradicts that which they told you previously. If you notice a discrepancy, ask them why the difference than what was told before and see how they handle it. If you instant message with that person, be sure to keep archiving ability on so that you can go back and really see what was said in previous conversations. I cannot express to NEVER meet anyone without a friend or family memeber knowing where you are going. Have that person call you on your cell (who lives without one these days??) during your meeting with the online person. Set up ahead of time for them to ask you yes and no questions ahead of time. It doesn't even hurt to have one of the questions as "Do you need me to call the police to come and get you?" If somone online is a worthwhile friend or potential mate, that should not be a problem. If it is, then they are not real in their intentions.
