  1. Does that mean no willy-wacking while driving????
  2. I would never sh(t you RR. I am not kidding. There was a bronze of Elijah passing his mantle to Elisha. They are next to the ox plow becaue I think the verses talk about Elijah finding Elisha working in the fields when he made this decision. This bronze was displayed in the auditorium. It was proof to the innies that gawd chose lcm. I wonder if it is still displayed since lcm proved himself to be the numb nut he always was.
  3. Maybe she came right from the steps of Deborah, the great judge of gawd's people in the OT. They compared loyboy to elisha. Why not compare rozilla to deborah.

    Hurricanes

Thinking too hard? I think so. The reality is this: There was a strong hurricane. There was a city with weak levees. The hurricane caused problems for the levees, and the city was flooded. Good people and bad people both lost a lot. It was a disaster that our country isn't used to seeing too often. It's a damn shame that the city didn't pay closer attention to the levee problem. Maybe the city wouldn't have been so affected by the hurricane if the levees were stronger. Maybe if you had family who were victims of this disaster, you would want to help them. But the choice is up to you. You have to feel like you want to. If you feel it in your heart, then you feel convicted to do whatever is in your heart. If you don't feel it, then you won't. I don't think it matters whether we think God caused it, or whether we think God wants it rebuilt. People will do what they are convicted to do. Some will say it was God leading them, and some won't. The more I get away from twi, the more I stop spiritualizing things liek this. I no longer believe countries who get devastated by earthquakes got devastated because they were "unbelieving". It happened because there was a big a$$ earchquake, and their building weren't built with the engineering a lot our country's buildings are. No spiritual decision to make in that. God loves all people.

I agre SF. I wouldn't buy the CD. But then again, I didn't like any of the Supernova songs. But I probably wouldn't buy anyone's CD from that show. Magni has a great voice, but he doesn't have performance pizazz. Toby has a great voice, energy, and pizazz, but I don't prefer his style.
  6. Wow! If that really happened, all I can say is sheeeeet!!!

Lukas it is....I guess Dilana is surprised. She is good and full of herself. But Lukas won the show. It will be interesting to seee what happens to the others and how much they accomplish in the music industry.
  8. Uhhhh....puh-leez!!! I don't need a bath! See! I am already wet!!
  9. I have met many people who know the Bible and have attended mainstream churches their whole lives. Do you ever remember witnessing to someone or hearing someone witness while they were in twi and hear them say "It sounded like they took PFAL!!" They sounded amazed at that fact. Yes, when you get down to the nitty gritty details of the main things twi focuses on (trinity, dead not alive, 4 crucified), there are differences. For many people in church, those doctrines don't phase their day-to-day beliefs. I don't believe most of those issues affect my salvation, so they are non-issues for me now. I guess there are some people out there who focus mainly on doctrine, and there are others who focus on relationship with Him. Neither is right or wrong. I think there is a balance. For some people that balance may tend to lean one way more than another depending on their walk. I don't say that twi taught all wrong things. Because of the rampant practical error of the leadership, I am leary of things I learned (remember practical error leads to doctrinal error?). I don't trust everything I was taught. But I don't completely disregard it either.
  10. I would disagree with that statement Allan.
  11. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I haven't read this thread in awhile. By relationship I mean talking and singing to God. When I went to a worship service in which the singing was for the purpose of worshipping God, it was a powerful thing to me. And it still is. It was much more powerful than any SIT I did deadly in twi for years and years and years. My talking/praying to God in twi was me telling him how I wanted Him to do things. Now I pray for His will to be done in my life. I know He knows better than I do, and I trust Him to work things out. I don't mean this as a "blind faith" kind of thing.

Gilbey Clark was in Guns and Roses after Slash left. Then I think he started his own band in Las Vegas which was named after him before he hooked up with the others to form SuperNova. Ironically, he used to come and play at local clubs here in my podunk town 100 miles south of Vegas in a dive called Tequila Bob's. Everyone in our town seems to have seen Gilbey Clark play. Isn't it weird that everyone of those guys was volunteering to play on Storm's original? They don't want her in their band, but they want to play her song..?????? Dilana sucked last night. Toby was good, but I'm still not sure he is SuperNova's type. But what is SuperNova's type? They kind of suck IMHO.
  13. Nobody has the ALL the truth. To put so much emphasis on doctrine is a waste of time IMHO. Anybody who claims they have more truth than any other organization is one I run far and fast from. I belive the RELATIONSHIP is the #1 aspect of why we are here. I want to go somewhere where people are not judged by how spiritual they are. I want to go somewhere where love is taught and evidenced by those involved, and where our shortcomings are not magnified and where I can worship God with humility. I found that at church.

Well I was surprised when I finally watched Wednesday's show. I thought for sure Storm was going. She was horrible on the Helter Skelter song. GAK!!! But to kick Ryan off, I am surprised. I guess they just wanted the public to be surprised. They did that just to show they aren't predictable IMHO. Ryan is good. I guess not for their band though. I'm sure this exposure has opened up many things for him because he does have talent. Dilana is good. I was sick of the drama being about her though. I wanted to puke. She took a situation and turned it around to put the attention on HER. I thought a chick who can rock a flying V and sing like that deserves to be famous though. I like Magni, but there's something about him that just doesn't have an edge. He rocks the songs he sings, but I don't know what's missing. Lukas is good too, but he doesn't seem extraordinary. But then again, Supernove isn't extraordinary IMHO. So far, I haven't liked any of the songs they've written. I wholeheartedly believe the lead singer should be involved in the song writing because they are the ones who put the heart and soul in to it when they sing. If they don't choose Dilana, I will be surprised.

I do think Storm rocked the Evanescence song. Their response to her was TERRIBLE!!! I haven't watched the 2nd show yet, still got it on the DVR. Gonna watch this weekend. I'm sure she got booted, right? It won't be a surprise. Everyone did really well though. Lukas surprised me. I love, love, love Nirvana, and he rocked that song!
  16. $2.69 in Kingman Arizona at AM/PM which usually has the cheapest gas next to the two truck stations on each end of town.
  17. Again, I think it's unfair to categorize ALL churches into this category, especially the comment about "these guys will never actualy try to do a word study on some of the basic stuff". I found many churches who teach well. YIDon't....I think you are expecting to hear the same things you heard in twi and that is the reason for your disappointment. However, I would stay away from radio evangelists because they do seem to be the traditional style pastors and preachers. When I look for a church, I actually look for one who has more of a contemporary service.
  18. Woo Hoo! Justice can start to be served for this bastage!! Whole Article Here LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Fugitive polygamist sect leader Warren Steed Jeffs, one of the FBI's 10 most wanted men, was arrested after a routine traffic stop near Las Vegas, traveling with $50,000 in cash, 15 cell phones and three wigs, authorities said on Tuesday. Jeffs, 50, considered a prophet by his estimated 10,000 followers, was jailed on warrants accusing him of sexual assault and other misconduct on minors in Arizona, and as an accomplice to rape in Utah, the FBI and state law enforcement officials said. "Now he's going to be held accountable," Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said of Jeffs' arrest. "Nobody is above the law." Jeffs, feared as a tyrant by many former members of his sect, is accused of arranging marriages between older men and underage girls in a community that is closed to outsiders. Young men and boys are often forced out to ensure a supply of young brides for male elders. The sect, long based in an enclave on the twin border towns of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona, split from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when the mainstream Mormon Church banned polygamy more than a century ago. Jeffs' group is believed to be one of the largest polygamist communities in the United States. A joint Utah-Arizona attorneys general report has estimated that 20,000 to 40,000 Americans still engage in the outlawed practice of plural marriage. Jeffs was stopped about 6 miles north of Las Vegas by a Highway Patrol officer on Monday night for improperly displayed license plates on the sport utility vehicle he was riding in, and the patrolman recognized Jeffs.

That is fun! I bombed in the first level the first time. Then I figured it out. Yeah I am slow. :) But I got up to leve 8 the second time and scored 137,448. Level 8 is hard. Anybody find the key to where to aim and when to let her rip?
  20. I just thought maybe some of you would be interested to hear some of the things taught in a church I used to attend when I lived in San Diego. The pastor is a really down to earth guy who wears khaki pants and hawaiian shirts each Sunday. He also surfs. He is in his early 50s, and he definitely knows how to reach people where they are. He is what I would call a cool pastor and is really likeable. He is unlike any other pastor I have known. I learned a lot about giving without expecting anything in return. I was involved in their kindness ministry. I saw people blown away that someone would wash their car or windows without accepting anything in return. The kindness ministry wasn't about inviting people to church or making known we were from there. People would ask "Why are you doing this?" We would reply "Just because we want to show God's love." Canyon View Christian Church For those of you looking for a church who doesn't teach the trinity, you may be hard-pressed to find it unless you go to a universal unitarian type setting. That kind of setting may turn you off more than the trinitarianism will. I think being in a trinitarian environment allowed me to see Jesus more than I had in all my years in twi. I am not advocating believing in the trinity. I am saying that you should consider that twi didn't have the whole trinity thing right. IMHO experiencing extremes on both sides help you to find the balance better.
  21. I went to church before twi, and I've gone to church after twi. I think churches after twi are much better. That is the whole reason I got involved in twi because I wasn't finding what I wanted or needed at a church. I think many churches caught on to this over the years and gave people something better than before. I think to say you tried church before twi and still don't like them is a little unfair because a lot of them (not all) have changed. A lot I've attended post twi are not about ritual and being accounted for at the service. I've been to many where the sermon was a lesson on how to handle life not just being preached at. It was nothing like a Believer's Family Class....ewww!!!
  22. I never dress up to go to church. I wear every day clothes, and most churches are OK with that. If they aren't, then I assess whether I am getting much out my attendance and may go elsewhere.
  23. I learned first-hand that everything I was taught in twi about church was dead-set wrong. Church doesn't suck. I had some major breakthroughs in my life by going to the church I chose. So I am of the opinion that there can be some great things at church. My women's small group really helped me to deal emotionally with some things I hadn't dealt with my whole life. It was very healing. I learned about a REAL relationship with God too. It wasn't about being a "true worshipper" who speaks in tongues. I rarely speak in tongues today. I don't miss it. But I crave worship service at church. That's my experience. But I went to a few churches before I found what I needed. It was worth the search too IMHO. I don't shove church down people's throats. I don't believe in that.
