I keep mine in the freezer in two layers of zip lock bags. It's good from beginning to end. :)

I've never roasted my own, but I remember when my mom roasted chicory in the 70s because coffee was outrageously expensive. I let Peet's do the roasting of my coffee. It's nice and strong without being bitter...mmmm!!!

How about scenarios where a married person cheats, then gets their lover in the class, and then gets divorced. Is THAT doing the Word???? Afterall somone did the hear the Word out the of the situation. How about later when the divorced person and the lover get married and become twig coordinators and good little twig coordinators. Does that cancel out the wrong because someone is now standing???

I was reading the testimony of RFR on excultworld and one phrase popped out to me because it has meaning behind those words. The plaintiff's attorney asked "Do you expect your state-level coordinators to tell the truth?" She reponds: "I expect them to do the Word." Doing the Word? What does that mean? Why didn't she just answer yes? Have you seen examples of "doing the Word" while in twi? I ask because I've seen scenarios where people with legitimate questions who have taken their concerns to a higher level to get the real answers get turned away and then be marked as a trouble-maker. Is this the Word to protect the image of the ministry? Is this the truth? We know that the BODs agenda is "the ministry cannot be blamed". The Word (whatever that is) is the only rule of believing and practice for them. Have you seen examples of twi leadership adding in whatever things they needed to make themselves look right? Didn't lcm do that in the believer's famly class when he announced to those who took that class by stating that the Word does not say premarital sex is a sin? Were extramarital affairs included in that? Was he covering up his own wrongs? That statement in that class sent shockwaves throughout my area. I didnt' take the first class in my Branch. I took the second. I wanted to hear Biblically how he got to that. It turned out to be a normal twisting of the scripture and then declaring it "The Word". Go out and have sex with whomever you want to because you are adult enough to decide who you want to have sex with. Our BC's wife declared to everyone to "go get laid." That's the Word???? I'm sure there are so many coverups which were twisted by Bible verses to make themselves feel righteous about their wrongs. Now that's what I would call Devilish... (I don't ususally use that term anymore, but I thought it fit.) [Edited to correct spelling and grammar.]

Anniversary!! GAK!!! Gawd I hated it at HQ. It just meant more work for the Staff. It's really hard to have people coming to headdquarters thinking it is the absolute best palce in the world and knowing the REALITY of that place. The staff were slaves and treated less than the best. At least now the numbers in twi are small enough that the staff can probably sit in the auditorium...hee hee!! Now that would be a REAL blessing...NOT!!!

Hi Lori and Welcome! I left almost 4 years ago after almost 20 years in which included a 5-year-stint on staff at HQ. My eyes were opened to the way people were treated. I thought all of the BS I had seen over the years were isolated incidents. In reality, it was common for those of us who worked hard to financially and emotionally support the ministry to be treated less than the best. I remembered a line that "practical error ALWAYS leads to doctrinal error". Once realizing the practical errors which were practiced by the upper leadership and some of the in betweens, I started to wonder if all I had been taught was truth. That doctrine they forced with so many classes and repeat after repeat of those classes helped to indoctrinate us and brainwash us to be the good little wayfers we became. Hope you enjoy your time here. I look forward to getting to see you around the cafe. :)

Even though he was assigned to the Research Department after his stepping down from the presidency, I don't think he actually worked in that Department. His face was unseen at HQ for at least 2 months after he was found out. There was an actual office for the Research Department. He was never in there before he left HQ. I think that was just a cover to make people think he actually had a job to do and that he wouldn't be collecting money without working (if he ever did do that while he was president.)

They ended up back at HQ??? WOW! That would be a shocker. Most people try everything to keep from going back to HQ after they've been there once. I would never go back to be of Staff even if I were an innie.

I used to go to the Saint Marys and New Bremen libraries to do my internet surfing while I was on Staff. I started intenet dating at that time. I remeber a local guy from New Bremen contacting me. As soon as he found out I was in twi, he said he didn't feel comfortable. I don't blame him, but I was looking for a way out even back then. I may not have realized it to that extent at the time. HQ didn't relax after lcm got the boot. He left in 2000. I left in 2001. There were still major pockets of relious fanatics at HQ when I left. I have contact with one Way Corps person. They only tell me things in bits and pieces. Lately they told me how someon was booted from the Corps. These people were 15th corps, so they were in a long time. But I always wondered why they were WC for so long. The thing I get from this person is the drama of the couple being booted. It like it was when Craig was prez and how he would trash people's reputations on public forum. Doesn't sound like it changed. I'm sure they still talk .... about people at Corps night.

People who treat animals poorly should be put in a dirty cage with barely enough for them to fit. They shouldn't be able to stand, and they should sit in their own feces. Maybe they should get dirty water. I dunno. The jury is still trying to determine that one. Dammit!!!! I love animals, and I HATE when people exploit them for their own gain. Dogs love unconditionally especially when they know they are loved.

Once you understand it all, it will all change....that's our government. :)
