Wayfers have a very small incline, if any, of what it is to be Christ like or walk in his steps. I hear that's their theme this year. I wonder what kind of reahashed garbage they are teaching. I bet it's nothing real like really helping people. TWI's help consists of paying for THE class and sitting through it. Yeah, that's real help if your stomach is empty or if you need a job or a way to get to work or whatever. There are a lot of people in this country who are less fortunate and need more than a stupid Bible class. Jesus would be there helping them get their real needs met and SHOWING them God's love (as opposed to barfing out Bible verses).

Alcoholics need pity? You make it sound like it is all without exception. Most in AA I have known are not seeking pity at all. They work their program and live day by day. Sure the Bible say moderation in all things. BUT there is no moderate amount of alcohol for an alcoholic. That's why they cannot drink EVER AGAIN as part of the recovery process. Pond, sometimes I wonder where the hell your mind is because you talk with your foot in your mouth and don't make a lick of sense.

Very intersting to hear from you all. I guess so much for speaking the same thing throughout the minsitry.

Jonny, I don't think that information made it too far down the way tree. I had heard several times in my almost 20 years in TWI that AA was not recommended because it didn't teach people to serve the one, true God. It promoted worshipping whatever god you wanted. But I do agree that AA helps people with addictions. They are the best out there IMHO because they teach people to deal with the causes and triggers of addiction not just the actual drinking or drug use. Pond, my father was an alcoholic during my whole childhood. He quite cold turkey. He didn't deal with the reasons he abused alcohol. He is a loaded gun, and he hasn't drank in 10 years. I hate to see the day he loses it. He will be worse than he was in the first place BECAUSE HE IS STILL AN ALCOHOLIC WHO HAS NOT RECEIVED TREATMENT!!!!

George, You may want to stick to liquid detergent. If you use a powder, you will have to sit aoround and wait for the washer to fill up and start agitating before you put your clothes in. If you don't wait, you will end up with soap stains (clumps of soap) on clothing items. I tried that Downy ball and had it fail more than I liked. It opened, but never distributed the softener. It has to move just right. Get a washer which has a hole to dispense softener at the right time. I just do a second wash since my washer is old and doesn't have a softender dispenser.

The most frustrating thing about being affected by the legalism is that we were told to go read the Word to get back on track. People would do this, and then do many different things directed by their leadership. Never once do I remember being told to ask the Lord for forgiveness. It seemed our forgiveness was "granted" by our works. Not by simples words in a prayer, "Lord, please forgive my wrongdoing." Looking back, it was a great example of how we were not taught to have a real relationship with Him.

George, The cheap ones probably work just fine, but you won't find a preference until you try a few. I get Tide with bleach because hubby prefers that kind. I would get whatever is on sale if it weren't for him. You will have to smell the fabric softeners to see which ones you like. I prefer Snuggle (Emerald Stream (scent) liquid to use in a second rinse cycle. The smell lasts longer than a dryer sheet. There are thousands upon millions of fabric softener scents these days. Don't buy the ones with just spanish wording on them. They don't work well.

They are stickery little buggers!

Maybe Karl didn't market his book in a manner which would yield a greater return? I'm writing a book on my life in TWI. The only reason why I am doing it is that people who I have talked to about my adventures in TWI have all said "You should write a book!" They were people not involved in TWI. They were flabbergasted by some of the things that I shared. It hard to write a book though. You have to be really motivated. That seems to be the hard part for me now. My book is not meant to trash TWI, but I will tell it like it happened. If TWI looks bad, so be it.

Don't you know that wayfers have the believing which baffles the best of the buddhists..... way down in the depths of their hearts???

There is no sin consciousness in TWI. Eveyone thinks because they are saved, they are going to heaven and all hell can't stop them. They just forget that they are human and NEED God. But somewhere God was forgotten in the scheme of things in TWI. The Word was TWI or so they thought. I spent many years in TWI forgetting to ask for forgiveness. That is lack of a Christian life IMHO.

Oprah had a great show with Ellen Bursten, Sheryl Crow, and Dana Buchanan. They all experienced things which helped them to get in touch with the real women they are. They realized that they weren't victims of life, but that there were lessons to be learned and how you get through those lessons and reflect back on them could add growth to yourself and teach you how to love yourself. I liked the tidbit Sushi used to have on his posts. It goes something like: The lessons are repeated until they are learned. It is so true. I hate journaling. It seems too laborious for me to put my thoughts in writing, but I have spent much time with my thoughts when I lived alone right after I left TWI. That was my time with me and God. And it was a time of self-reflection.

Cman, I'm praying for your recovery and enlightenment to find the person you really want to be without alcohol. My father was an alcoholic. He binged one or two times a week and came home to us as a mean b*stard. Once he retired about 10 years ago, he stopped. I don't know what happened. He did the same thing with smoking. He went from 2 packs a day to cold turkey. I'm not saying this is the way to do it. He never dealt with the emotions and hurts that caused him to drink. Even though he stopped, I still hurt as the little girl who saw her dad come home in a drunken rage. It crushed me as a child. I think it did more to my brother. He is following in my dad's footsteps, and my dad is completely clueless and befuddled by it. I sent my dad an email 2 1/2 years ago to tell him his actions in my childhood hurt me a lot, but I have forgiven him. I also told him I hoped he could learn to forgive himself. He has a lot bottled up inside. AA could help him to move past that, but he does't believe in programs or counseling. He thinks he took care of the problem because he stopped drinking. I takes strength to deal with it all Cman. By doing so, you will see your reward and will enjoy it because you worked for it. Godspeed.

My best friend in college named her cat Grace Slick. Thanks for that video David. It reminds me of how strong her vocals are. Her voice is amazing. I'm so in awe of people who have that kind of strength in their voice without appearing to have much effort put forth. It's kind of disappointing that she didn't want to talk about Jefferson Airplane since she is well known for that group. I understand when people want to talk about their current ventures, but they have to understand the public (who probably has never talked to them) will want to talk to them about things they know them for. My husband and I went ot CES a few years ago and talked to Neal Shon, guitarist for Journey, and he was the same way. He didn't want to talk about Journey. He wanted to talk about his new band (which by the way flopped big time). He is back to touring with Journey again (without Steve Perry :( ). Journey isn't Journey without Steve.

Germophobes or not, I like the automatic dispensing towels, soap, water faucets, and toilets. It's really great if you have a public restroom with a large enought entrance that it is curved so don't have a door. The only think you coming in contact with is the bathroom stall door. That's nothing that a paper towel can't handle. I work at our local county. I bought antibacterial wipes for the counters and public phones. It is disgusting how filthy those counters get. Hands all over them all day....ewww!!!

Richards acted like a complete stark raving lunatic and then apologizes? That doesn't make sense. I think the only reason he apologized is because of the publicity it got and now he has to eat CROW!!!! People like him truly are a$$hole biggots.

I agree!! I can't stand to touch those or handrails on stairs. I open doors where most people are not likely to grab, or I push doors open at a higher spot than is usally used. I use my purse strap to push the buttons on the elevator!!!   Maybe I should rethink that one. Most grocery stores have antibacterial wipes at the door for carts. Thank God for that. I know people who sew a special thing for babie so their little bodies don't have to have contact with the cart. And it is washable. That was a great invention.

Snoozers is right. The last one I went to was on Thanksgiving in 2002. I left TWI 2 weeks later. I told my boyfriend (at that time) if I didn't see something that made me want to stay, I was outta there. I had just started posting on GSC at the time. I read my posts from back then and see how my thinking was back then. Definitely TWI's BS filled my brain even though I wanted to get out. I just had to justify it to myself. Thank God I did. God and life's been good to me thus far. Nato, it's a shame how they treated your grandma. She deserved better. Thank God you know she'll get what she deserves at the Return, and that day will be a joyous one. Nobody will be debating about which ministry is right or which one has the most truth. She was a fine lady. I always enjoyed sitting at the same table with her at lunch when I was on Staff.

I went on vacation in Hawaii in 1989. Sea Life Park was one of the places I went for a day of fun and activity. There I saw a Wholfin, a cross between a Killer Whale and a Dolphin. A few years later I was at work and told the people about the Wholfin. They said I was lying and yanking their chain. This was a time before the world wide web was a household necessity, so I could not prove myself. Luckily, a few months later, a coworker was going to Maui. They had a layover in Honolulu and made a call to Sea Life Park to ask if there was indeed a Wholfin. They found out I wasn't lying. Now I see the Wholfin has had a baby of her own. She mated with another Dolphin and produced a baby which is 3/4 Dolphin and 1/4 Killer Whate. I find that interesting since most animals who are of the same genus and mate produce offsprings which are sterile. Sea Life Park SignOnSanDiego -
