  1. Might I add that I have a friend who is an innie. They ran in to LCM while he was working at Balley's. This person went to his apartment to talk to him. They said he was willing to talk about what happened. Of course, he only gives his side of the story. They said he feels he did NOTHING wrong. The only thing he is sorry for is the hurt he caused his children. He feels his sexcapades were not wrong because of the amount of women that men like David had. He is twisted in his thoughts. Maybe those thougts were twisted because VPW taught them to him. But LCM is the one who accepted the wrong doctrine, and HE will be responsible for his actions when he comes face-to-face with Jesus. I think he is as responsible for trusting his advisors. The same innie said LCM has a personal vendetta with RFR. I'm sure that has been going on for decades and is reciprocated by her as well.
  2. I baby-sat some BIG BRATS when I was in twi. I also baby-sat some very lovable kids. ALL baby-sitting was absolutely free of charge. When I was on Staff, I let my feelings get hurt because I baby-sat one couples kids frequently and never got invited over to their house for anything other than baby-sitting. Thanksgiving and Christmas are very lonely times on Staff unless you have a clique you frequent. I did TONS of free work. My BC and his wife asked me to stay at their house and take care of their dog while they went to Corps Week and the ROA. When I got there the day before they left, I was informed that I would need to pay for rent, food, and electricity. Then I got a huge list of things that needed to be finished before they got home. I was a faithful followe of The Way, not the Lord Jesus Christ. NEVER again....
  3. Amen sistah on the smiling and genuinely showing happiness! What about Jack Black? I think he's da bomb too!
  4. I'd rather see someone from the Church of Elvis holding the lyrics to "You Ain't Nothing But a Hound Dog" to his heart. If the Quaran makes this guy hold up to his integrity, then sobeit. Not all Muslims are terrorists. I don't believe a Muslim would necessarily give avenue to terrorists. To me, a "regular" Muslim is different than the wack jobs who kill themselves for Allah. It's the same as a fundamentalist Christian group in comparision to a "regular" Christian group.
  5. I got 100%. If it weren't for the second part of the question about monkeys, I would have gotten it wrong. I didn't know the plural of monkey..... Please don't tell Nancy Hearne...LOLOL!!
  6. I work for County government. We didn't get the day off; we still had to stand by the roadside to hold up the shovel!!! grrr!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!

You are not a minority CoolChef. I thought the WOW Burger sucked as well. They used to feed us that stuff at SNS snack shop too. When I was on Staff, we used to have burger night which was the same crappy, baked hamburger patty. Then they smartened up and started grilling them outside. Then it got REAL! That grilled burger with the pickles was the BEST IMHO! But I will NEVER go back on staff to have another.

Inn-N-Out is highly over-rated IMHO. We have one here in our town. I go only because hubby likes it. We REALLY like Sonic, but we can't even get good service at Sonic (much less any other restaurant) because we live in an evil vortex where people don't give a $h*t and then wonder why they dont' make any money. Carls Jr. makes me sick, literally. I like the flavor of the $6 burger, but it kills my stomach. I stay away from Carls Jr.
  9. NottaWayfer is Jack Mysterio, and my real name is Cowboy Hercules. Computer generated names heh?? hahaha!!! I put in the name Hagatha and it came up with Smelly Show.
  10. I wonder if the REAL Sadaam was hanged. I seem to remember that he had MANY impersonators. What happened to them? They eerily looked like him.
  11. We can't forget that our image of the ALMIGHTY TRUTH came from a Bible-worshipping cult. The Bible IS NOT the only truth. I believe God gave it to us only for a way to know about Him and as an example of people's lives. I don't think "What does the Word say?" is THE way to live.
  12. Belle, Actually I was trying to show that the Bible shows two different aspects of a point. I guess Iwasn't doing a very good job making my point. I just wanted to show that we were taught in TWI that there is black and white, no gray EVER!! Then I wanted to show the gray area with the example of the woman found in adultery. Truth is is a tricky word. Like that Oldies?? But I still think if Abby has brown eyes and says she has blue eyes, it is not the truth..... Abby, I am just using you as an example. I don't mean anything by the example. Maybe I better excuse myself now. Sorry for the derail Abby.
  13. We were taught God's Word is truth. Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. Deuteronomy 5:18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery. Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. Is the Bible clear that adultery should not be committed? John 8 1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." Does this mean that Jesus went against the truth? I don't think so. The line of demarcation in TWI was either it was on the Word or off the Word, and ONLY the Word is truth. I think John 8 is a great example to not bind yourself in Words and doctrine. People are more important than that.
  14. Trick questions? I don't get it.   If Abby said "It is truth that my eyes are brown.", would that be the truth or a lie?" Let's make it easy Oldies. If her eyes are brown, it is truth. If she said "It is truth that my eyes are blue.", and her eyes are actually brown. Then that would be a lie. Or she would be extremely confused.

I had Burgerville just last week when I was in BEAUTIFUL Portland, Oregon!!! I concur with Ms. Potato that any other burger joint (INCLUDING INN-N-OUT!!!) is just another burger joint. [Waits for flogging from Californians.:)]
  16. Growing up, Dad would only allow Miracle Whip in our house. I like both. It depends on what I am making as to which one I choose. If I am having a turkey sandwich made from leftover Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, it ALWAYS has to be Miracle Whip. I like Miracle Whip with my fried egg or meatloaf sandwiches. Any other kind of sandwich or burgers have to have Best Foods (aka Hellman's east of the Mississippi) mayonaise on them. I make tuna with mayo too.
  17. I worked with him in Printing Services at HQ. I left HQ in 2001. I would be surprised if he was anywhere else. He beats a different drum, but he was always a nice guy.
  18. Ryan, You are the only one in this equation who can protect your heart. And you must do that. Once your girlfriend gets back to fellowship, she may get talked out of your relationship because you are not a believer (according to TWI terms). Don't let your heart get broken. Your girlfriend is very aware of this mentality if she's been part of TWI for any amount of time. You sound like a very nice guy who deserves better than some waybrained confused girl who yells like a banchee every time you bring up questions about her religion. Please save yourself from the grief you will encounter. My intent is not to sound negative. You need to protect you from the meddling which will happen once she gets back to fellowship. With TWI in the way, your relationship doesn't stand a chance. She will start questioning your relationship because she won't be able to reconcile the thoughts about your ability to be her head without the rightly divided Word. She will feel guilt, and your relationship will be on the down side of the balances. If she gets involved with them and you are planning to get married, she will be immensely bothered about not having a "ministry" wedding. It will be a vicious crazy circle. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR HEART!!!!
  19. That letter is very disturbing and crazy. I tried CES when I first left TWI. I could only make it through about 3 fellowships and saw weirdness. I remembered hearing about personal prophecy. It seems to be to be something that was mystical about CES. It definitely seems to be a way to railroad someone and then call it godly. That is shameful.
  20. I agree with Belle and Sudo. Gumbo just ain't gumbo without okra. I thought Gumbo meant okra...LOLOL!!! I like mine with crab...hmmmm.
  21. I'll take a cloudy Widmer Hefeweizen (brewed in beautiful Portland, Oregon) with some lemon any day...hmmmmm!!!! LOOK AT THAT HEAD!!!
  22. That statement hit me upside the head Sushi. Maybe you might think not much will come from that, but I think He will surprise you really big some day, and it may be when you least expect it.
  23. Yes, the renewed mind was used a mind control exercise in every category with which you came in to contact with TWI. If children were being corrected, they were told to renew their mind. If we didn't want to give up our lives for 3 weeks to be on the class crew, we were told to renew our mind. Renew our mind to what??? To do what other people wanted? They would never say that. It was "Renew your mind to the Word." That was THE cop-out statement. And then some statement from the Book of Acts was given about the church growing. They were totally oblivious to the fact that people had lives outside of TWI. But we were expected to make TWI our life and hopefully get our families taken care of in between the other stuff of TWI. I agree with Bliss wholeheartedly. "It's all about HIM, not me.........................as I build that relationship, HE renews me. He does the work."

    Taco Bell

Shell, I've never had that problem at Taco Bell. I LOVE Taco Bell! I could eat there almost daily, but I don't because it isn't the healthiest food. I have NEVER heard of mayo on anything at Taco Bell. Sour cream yes, but not mayo.
  25. ROFLMAOPIMP!!!!! Dang that was funny!
