I think the BC actually meant that TWI should be known for their knowledge instead of LCM's sexcapades. I think the other sad situation in that scenario is the wayfers making fun of another Christian. Yes, that pastor did something terrible, and he shouldn't be a pastor anymore IMHO. But does that make TWI better than other Christians? They seem to act as if they are even to this day with all that's been exposed. They are still making the koolaide, hoping others will drink it.

I remember a special show they did in 1995 or 1996 with Way Productions. It was SNS hookup for those who weren't at HQ. They LCM on the stage and he told fat lady jokes, and was an all around pin head. Why did he think he was so funny? I did happen to take an older lady to that hookup, and she was insulted by his humor (rightfully so). I was insulted as well, but I was too waybrained to see it back then. It amazes me how much I looked over to keep myself in "the Word" and "the household". I really had blinders on. It should have been a clue back then. BTW, remember LCM said "whited sepulchre" was a cuss word? I wonder w here he got his stuff. I'm sorry it was such a distasteful thing for some of you. I thought it was kind of cute. We all have different opinions. At the end of the day, I don't think that makes anyone any less of a person than any other. It was the little girl's logic of the monster coming through the TV that made it so funny for me. And the fact that she said "ASK" as opposed to @$$.

How do I know I'm out of the cult? I sometimes give money to people on the street; I use words like "lucky", "wish", and "hope" (not in relationship to the hope of the Return); I occasionally put change in a slot machine; and finally: I have gay friends (OMG!!)

I have an innie friend who questions their involvement in TWI, but they haven't made the decision to leave yet. They were at a fellowship one night when the twits were making jokes about a local pastor who had gotten caught masturbating in public. My innie friend told them they shouldn't make fun of the situation because of the things LCM got caught doing. The response from the BC was that people come to TWI for the knowledge. Does knowledge cover a multitude of sins? Obviously it does in twit leadership eyes. Doesn't the Word say knowledge puffs up? Prov 16:18-19 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Craig ought to know, he was very prideful, and look where he is now. If he hadn't gotten caught, he would still be doing the same thing and thinking he was Jesus on a stick. TWI needs to get real about what they really represent. They put so much emphasis on "The Word" that they forget who the head of the church is, and they lose the main key to Christianity: Jesus Christ. We'll see how many flock to them for the knowledge. Knowledge without love is abominable IMHO.

The CPAP machine isn't nearly as expensive as that darn sleep study was. The sleep study was $2,600. The CPAP is $1,360. They wanted to do a 2nd sleep study on me, I said "NO!" The CPAP machine will test the tritation I will need by some sort of recording on the CPAP machine. Being that it keeps me breathing and keeps me from losing oxygen (which goes down to 75%) when I wasn't breathing, I think that is a small price to pay. Lack of oxygen causes brain damage. I'm only 43, and I'm not ready to start drooling yet.

Ummm Rhino....you sure seem to keep up on Miss Hilton's whereabouts on the cafe these days. Are you going to California to meet her with a yellow ribbon when she gets out?? Just don't go making any movies with her unless you want to be a star some day.

I can understand the reason why some think kids cussing is not cute. However, if we are talking about raising kids in a manner which is healthy to them, a cuss word here or there isn't going to taint them. Not being good parents will harm a child much more. Parents who belittle kids and ruin their self-worth and spirit is much more damaging. I just heard a woman belittle a pre-teen girl at the store last night. She was playing with a ball in the aisle. She was having fun, and she was not disruptive in any manner. It was not busy in the store. Her mother came in the aisle telling her what a dumb @$$ she was. I was livid and wanted to kick that woman's arse. The girl came up and apologized to us. I told the girl, "Don't worry honey, you weren't bothering us." Her mother said "don't encourage the stupid @$$." I said "With your degrading name calling, there's no way she could have enough self-worth to live up to YOUR expectations!!"

The things I experienced were personal hurts for me. I felt I had been betrayed in a major way because I so trusted in TWI and it's leadership. I NEVER dreamed of the things going on behind the scenes. It was a hard pill to swallow. I went to church after 7 months of trying to figure me out. I went to a divorce care group which helped me to deal with my feelings of betrayal. Leaving TWI for me was the same as divorce. I never dreamed the divorce care group would help me get over a cult. I went because I wanted to marry again and I wanted to be sure I wasn't dragging around baggage from my previous marriage and relationships. Going to that group was the best thing I did for ME. I learned how to move on and how to forgive so I could be free mentally.

That was funny! I know it's twisted to think kids are so cute when they cuss. I guess that's a sign I don't have kids.

Hmmmm...I guess that's what makes us individual. I would NEVER have my jaw broke in a surgery. I guess that's what makes us individuals. I don't consider the machine a disability.

Sorry Rocky. I don't mean to rub it in. I did my share as a single woman in her 30s though. That is almost any girl's worst nightmare. It makes her biological clock sound like the Notre Dame Bell. If you do get hooked up again, just don't put your CPAP machine on before whoopie, OK? And wait at least 30 minutes before falling asleep after whoopie. We women know how you men are.

My grandfather had terrible sleep apnea almost his whole life. He lived until he was 87 and was healthy right up to that point. I don't know what symptoms he had. They didn't recognize sleep apnea at that time though. My dad said they used to hear him stop breathing when he was a kid. That was in the 40s. For me, I would have gone nutz had I not gotten it taken care of. My quality of life has been absolutely terrible since getting tension headaches from it. My coping skills have gone down hill at a very rapid rate. Nobody at work likes me anymore.

WHAT??? Sex life if OVER???? NO WAY!!!! Just because you go to bed doesn't mean you HAVE to sleep! I only have to wear that thing when I sleep, not when I go to bed.

I was surprised that I didn't feel like I was getting tangled up with the hose attached to my nose and the machine. It could have been a lot worse. When I had my sleep study, that was the WORST sleep I EVER had. My doctor wanted to do another sleep study to determin tritation (sp?). I said NO! He said OK and gave me an adjustable machine. It goes from 5-15, depending on my need for increased air flow. I'm sure I will get used to it (especially when I start to feel like it is doing it's job.)

I got the nasal pillows. I don't have anything to compare it to, so I guess it is OK. It didn't bug me horribly, but it's still not natural to have a hose connected to your face. The other "mask" they demonstrated on me yesterday was one that just went over your whole nose area. I think the nasal pillow one has a tendency to lose air around your nose if you lay on your side with your face smooshed too much in to your pillow. We'll see how well I start feeling. I was draggin @$$ big time because of this. I felt depression, tension headaches, fog, exhaustion, and loss of sex drive (which is just not like me). <_< My husband said I didn't snore at all and didn't move at all during the night. I usually ended up pushing him to the edge of the bed and then turn my head toward him so I snore in his ear (but not on purpose!) So I am sure he will be happy with improvement in some categories of my life. :)

What's the difference between a CPAP and a Bi-Pap machine?

I've been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I haven't slept well for a couple of years now. About 6 months ago, I started getting terrible tension headaches. I suspected I had sleep apnea (I've gained marital bliss weight). I went for a sleep study and found that the first few hours I stop breathing 18 times per hour. When I get to REM sleep, I stopped breathing up to 50 times per hour. No wonder I feel like crap. I just got a CPAP machine yesterday. It's weird and will take some getting used to, but I am thankful it is a way to help the situation until I get my weight down, which I am hoping will alleviate the apnea and need for the CPAP machine.

I can't imagine "deep seated" problems either. You and I both know that's TWI top leadership saying he disagrees with their BS.

I had a friend on Staff who is Corps who said that they were told Todd had deeply rooted problems. You know where that came from, don't you? Anytime anyone questions top leaders about practices in TWI, they are considered problematic or possessed and are usually kicked out and spoken badly of once they are gone. I saw this happen with P*ul and F*rn All*n. I heard from this person that Todd had met with H*arv* Pl*t*g. Todd probably asked some real questions and wanted honest answers which top leadership won't address because it requires pulling the skeletons out of the closet. I hope Todd is doing well. He was one of the good guys.
